They were very understaffed. There was one wait person for the entire facility.
They did not serve bread. The house salad could have used more dressing. It was good, yet a bit bland. The Cioppino was good, yet several shellfish were empty. The favor was excellent. The pastas were excellent. The Carbonara was a bit salty. The Wild boar Ragu was most excellent.
I will be back.
Only 1-2 people working. The bartender was trying his best but there was no way he could keep up with food and drinks. The food came out at different times, we waited forever for drinks, etc.
We had a phenomenal experience. The waitress was very kind and informative. The food was delicious and as much as I enjoyed the signature cocktails, I was thoroughly impressed and satisfied they were able to make a Black Manhattan for me!
Our server was really great! She handled our 2 tables of 6 perfectly. She was knowledgeable, patient, accommodating and friendly. Everyone enjoyed their meal.
Pasta was undercooked and service was not good. Expected better - very disappointed. I do not recommend and will not be retuning.
After we were seated, our server didn’t come to our table for at least 10 minutes. It took another 20 minutes before we got the drinks we ordered. The food was okay- nothing special. The music was slow and quiet, I could hear every table’s conversation.
Food was amazing! After sampling some of everyone’s, all the meals were fantastic. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the slow service. Our server was so soft spoken we couldn’t understand most of what she said. If we asked a question, she would go to check and not return for another 15 minutes. We had children with us that were ready to leave so when the check came I tried to pay right away. The server took my credit card but instead of helping us get out the door, she left my credit card in the back and went to help another table. We didn’t get out for another 20 minutes. Definitely not the best impression.
Not a good value for the money. 2 small meatballs for $12 🧐, a chewy New York strip for $30. A small pour of wine for $10
The meal was excellent and the server did a really good job assisting us.
Very, very bad food. Two steaks were ordered at the table, one med rare and the other medium. Both came out well done. Cuts of meat were extremely low quality. Potatoes, surprisingly, had no seasoning. Chicken parm was 90% breading, 10% chicken. All meals at the table were the saltiest thing any of us had ever tasted (and we've been to Chili's). Only silver lining was that one filet was cooked properly, but was ruined by the amount of salt. Unfortunate since we wanted to like this place, but I cannot recommend. Come for a drink, steer clear of the food.
Waited over an hour before I had to wave someone down for a drink and another 45 min after that to get food. Staff would lean against the wall talking to each other and were obviously not busy. No one cared about service that night and many people around us experienced the same. PLEASE SHARE. Do not waste your time and money there
From the moment we walked into the restaurant to the time we left, we never warmed up. It was extremely cold at the restaurant, it was hard to enjoy the food when you can’t feel your hands or feet. I got the spaghetti and it tasted like it was undercooked. My husband got the rigatoni and the portion size was less than what we expected considering the price was about $23+ per plate. The service was alright, it wasn’t as busy as you would think it would be since it was Valentine’s weekend, our server took some time to get to us. The place itself was very nice. Very romantic. It would’ve helped if the actual restaurant was warm considering it was below 0 outside.
Amazing and delicious valentines weekend evening
Service was slow. Small menu, great food and decent value.
For a whooping bill of $50 plus dollars - very small portions. Chick Parm tasted as if it has been fried days ago and rewarmed. The tab did not include any bread and all sides were extra. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
We have been going to Tavernonna for our anniversary for the past 8 years. Each year we have been given phenomenal food, service, and quality. We have never been given a reason to not go to the restaurant, and hope that it will be there for a long time in the future for future anniversaries.
Great food and wine selections. Quite place in a hotel. Been here several times and always had quality food and great service.
Nice setup and felt comfortable given distancing guidelines. Service was very warm and helped to make a great evening.
Service was not very good and the food was even worse. Not impressed and will not be going back
We really enjoyed the food experience, but the service was a bit off. They wanted to seat my VERY pregnant friend at a high top table with no support. We could barely hear our server through her mask because her voice was so soft. Took quite while to get our drinks as we were done with apps when they came out. However, the food was delicious and definitely worth another try.
The atmosphere and service were both excellent. There was only one dish (the meatballs) that I would rate really high. Other than that dish, the food was good, but not memorable.
We went for restaurant week - food and service was good, however, we were really disappointed in the wine list. We typically order a bottle, however, they only had one Italian red wine so we just got a glass- very odd for Italian restaurant. The red selection was not very good either.
Place was nice and clean, ambiance was great. Took about 10 minutes for a waitress to first come by after being seated, they rarely came around through the whole dinner. Focaccia bread was delicious, soup of the day was potato, that was good. Ordered the seafood risotto and chicken parm for the entrees. The risotto was cold and the chicken parm was $24 for a chunk of breaded chicken with no spaghetti noodles at all, but came with a side of pickled carrots?? Weird. Kinda disappointed, won’t recommend.
$160 for 4 small pasta entries and 4 drinks. No salad, bread or anything else! Was not even that good. Will not go back.
The restaurant is nice and our server was amazing. The food was not good though. It wasn't tasty and for it being Italian - it was disappointing and I'm Italian so I know what it's supposed to taste like. Plus we spent $195 and zoinks! Not sure on what... Do not recommend for Italian food for sure.
The people were great, easy-going, competent, gracious, efficient. We wanted to be pretty much alone on a date, in a nice place, eat a good meal, have a couple of drinks. Worked out just right.
Very under impressed. Nonna meatballs were overrated. No flavor boring. My gma was Italian and hres far surpassed these waste of money. Glad we chose not to eat dinner here
stumbled upon this restaurant. Very good food. Service was great!
If you go, you have to try the Nonna meatballs. Either as the appetizer or added to your pasta. Outstanding!
Service was great, but food was just ok. Appetizers were much better than the entrees.
The service was fast and friendly but when it comes to the menu its like its trying to hard to come off as hip or trendy and in doing so it fails at the fundamentals of doing italian food well.
It was very drafty. The food seems pre-made. The service was excellent.
Amazing food and experience!
Food was very disappointing. Polenta was horrible. None of our food was hot..barely warm. Meatballs were decent. Won’t be back
Should have paid attention to the reviews. The pasta was definitely not fresh and may have been from a box. Either way mine was so undercooked it was hard in spots and actually a little crunchy, pretty sure it's supposed to be softer. My wife's meal had the same issue with the pasta and instead of toasted brown butter they appeared to have just dumped flavorless clarified butter over the top to cover their sins but, the cook wasn't done yet, someone went ahead and emptied a salt shaker on there for good measure. The one bright spot was our waitress who was pleasant and some what attentive. I'm embarrassed for the out of towner's staying at Hotel Phillip next door, I'd hate for them to think this is what KC cuisine is like, we can cook more than BBQ in this town. Gonna have to say hard pass on this one in the future.
Was just so so, food was mediocre at best. Doubtful they will last through Covid-19
Terrible food and service.
We were staying at the Hotel Phillips and love Italian food so had one of our weekend stay meals at Taveronna. Food was excellent. They make most of their pasta in house and it was outstanding. Our server Cody was very helpful with menu items and also fun things to do in the area of the hotel. Would definitely eat there again if we find ourselves in KC.
Food and service were great. Noise of course was minimal due to COVID restrictions. Glad we stayed at the hotel and came here!
Given the current state of affairs with COVID-19 the service and food were fantastic. Unfortunately we weren’t able to get the family style meals, but our steaks were incredibly flavorful (though slightly too done).
The restaurant was lovely and quiet, and the wine & meal was absolutely divine! We also had gelato and sorbet for dessert as well and it was the perfect way to end the meal.
