The food was just terrible - we won't be back, so don't ask! Thanks
TenPenh does it again: great service, awesome food and excellent atmosphere to celebrate my husband's birthday! The staff is awesome and even arranged to make him wasabi mashed potatoes, that he loves and are currently off the menu. All the food and drinks were awesome and we look forward to our next visit and trying new items on their menu.
Thank you for the kind words! We are glad you and your husband had an enjoyable experience here at Tenpenh! We look forward to seeing you again. Rosa Climaco General Manager
The service is exceptional! Works really well for getting in and out. Great menu. Great quality of food. Nice variety.
Thank you Christine! I'm glad you had a nice time at our restaurant, we hope to see you again soon. Rosa Climaco General Manager
Our waitress, Kathy, made our experience very enjoyable! The food was tasty, a little on the spicy side for someone who is sensitive to it, but the wait staff kept our drinks flowing! The amusant presented was the corn and crab egg drop soup. I will likely order a cup of that when I return! We ordered the steamed pork dumplings (very good), the scallion pancakes (not what I think of as scallion pancakes, in fact, it was difficult to find any pancake in the pot), and the ahi tuna (the best of the three) for appetizers. For sushi, we had the rainbow roll (two stars), the rock (four stars), and the Chesapeake Bay roll (the clear winner). The lamb was an excellent combination of sweet and spicy flavors. We took our desserts home, so that affected their presentation and timing. The donut holes were tasty, but a little dry, necessitating the whipped cream. The coconut let lime tart was delicious; it's probably worth five stars if eaten immediately after it's served. We would return to try other interesting dishes there, but mostly because of the wonderful service (we will definitely ask to be at Kathy's table again)!
Thank you so much for sharing the positive feedback! We shared your review with Cathy and she was very appreciative of the kind word. Hope to see you again soon. Rosa Climaco General Manager
I loved TenPenh when it was downtown and had been meaning to give the Tysons location a try. The dining room and decor was nice, modern and comfortable (aside from leaving the restaurant to find the restroom in an office building lobby which was a little isolated).
The service was also very good. However, the food just did not live up to the delicious memories of the downtown location. While the description of the special appetizer of the evening sounded delicious, it was not unique or special. Similarly, I ordered a sizzling shrimp bowl and it was very average. My friend ordered crusted halibut and she enjoyed hers more, but it also was not memorable. Based on the meal, we would not plan to return. It is by no means bad, but it is not something you will crave when there are so many other spectacular options available.
Was placed at
Great food, sampled the small plates. Will be coming back to sample more.
Birthday dinner for 10. Service was outstanding! Grateful to our server, Franklin, for a memorable evening!
Disappointing food, with nothing memorable. Better ramen found elsewhere and sushi was stingy,
Love the old one and enjoyed the new one.
Miss seeing Gus!
Jerrod was awesome accommodating us after I asked to move our seating up to an earlier time. Food was delicious and the service was great. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.
LouisaVills, Thank you for coming out and enjoying the evening with us! It was a pleasure to have you here and will always do what we can to best accommodate our guests. We appreciate you taking the time for writing a review. Wishing you a great start to your week. Regards, TenPenh Management
I had been to the DC location many times. This was my first trip to the Tysons location. The food was just as good as I remember. The servers were terrific - there when we needed something but they left us alone to enjoy the meal and talk (I was with a client). I can't wait to go back.
JeffW, Thank you for sharing your thoughts and opinion! We constantly try and improve on understanding our guests needs, while being able to provide time and space for our guests to enjoy themselves, the food, and their company. We appreciate again, taking the time to share your experience. We look forward to having you back soon as well. Respectfully, TenPenh Management
Had a very good time. Food was very good (a little bit disappointed by the 6 pieces of shrimp counted into the humongous bowl for the Shrimp and Red Thai curry, so not necessary). Server was great, paid attention to table and was prompt. Very good experience.
Excellent in all aspects....I will return in the future.
The music was loud when we came in. There were about 5 people. We asked to turn music down and it worked right away. I took first time friends and they really enjoyed all.
Hiko, Thank you for sharing your thoughts! We apologize for the loud music, but happy that we were able to accommodate you right away. We look forward to having you back soon. All the best, TenPenh Management
I am not going into significant detail however this was the worst meal my wife and I have had in the last 2+ years. Both of our meals came out incorrect and when they came back with the replacements mine was incorrect again. The manager on duty was rude and disrespectful and the staff were all untrained and unknowledgeable. Bottom line, if you want a terrible experience and even worse food come to this restaurant. If not, visit another restaurant as there are so many better places to spend your hard earned money.
Lastly, I learned this restaurant is owned by the Passion fish Management group. I am so sorry to hear this as my wife and I eat at Passion Fish in Reston at least twice a month. Because of the disrespect we received from the manager we will not be spending our money at the Reston location or any other other location in their portfolio for the foreseeable future.
Great job by Francisco! Great job by Francisco! Great job by Francisco
Short of waiters, not well organized, chaotic,
My friends and I dined here last night and had the absolute best service. As busy professionals we don’t get a chance to see each other often so we spent a lot of time chatting. We never felt rushed by the servers and they were always around when we needed them. Great service and great food!!
The small plates approach enabled us to order a variety of dishes, all of which we enjoyed. Curried cauliflower, wasabi mashed potatoes, and vegetable fried rice were standouts. Our son has food allergies and the server was conscientious about communicating our restrictions to the kitchen.
Service was very slow for our group. The restaurant was around 35% capacity. All else was good.
Ten Penh needs a menu refresh (or something). The dishes on the menu are OK but something new would be nice.
Food was good and the wait staff was very entertaining. We did family style dining so everyone got to try a little of each and we had leftovers. My wife and I will be back.
One enter was mediocre. Appetizers were excellent
Excellent dining experience. Waitstaff was incredible. The decor is perfect. I can’t wait to return on my next visit to Tyson’s
They charged $6 for "still ", Fiji water. I thought it would be tap water. That's what a beer costs. I wasn't told at the time of ordering. Had to ask 2 additional times for my entree while my husband got his. Then to top it all off, they apologized with a dessert which was misnamed. They charged us for it ! My husband didn't want me to complain. NOT GOING BACK!!
Sharon, first I'd like to apologize to you about the dining experience you had last week. If you have some time I'd love to talk you and get some feedback on where we dropped the ball and invite you back in. I spoke to my team that was here the day of and the server. We are working rectifying the issues we had but I'd like to hear your prospective as a guest. rosa@tenpenhtysons . c o m 703-910-3096 I look forward to hearing from you.
Love this place so much. The food is excellent, service is excellent -- will definitely be back!
Ten Penh is one of my very favorite Asian food restaurants. For the first time, the service was not as good. The waiter was knowledgeable but failed to get our order correct, was somewhat abrupt and it was difficult to get his attention back for the bill. The food was outstanding
Sat at the sushi bar for happy hour. Had pork belly bao buns, crab rangoon dumplings, pork dumplings, mushu pork from the happy hour menu. All were really good.
From the sushi menu we had the caterpillar roll which I do not recommend.
Overall great place. Will return soon.
We have eaten there several time with great food and experienced server. The manager came by our table several times to ask how everything was going.
TenPenh continues to amaze with its exquisite food, ambiance and service. We even used the valet parking for the first time and it was excellent as well. After dining at TenPenh dozens of times since it opened in Tysons one would think that we would eventually grow tired of its menu or some other aspect of the dining experience. We are happy to report that we return each time with enthusiasm for their special dumpling of the day, the amuse bûche and the amazing array of sushi. The kale salad is a must simply because it is absolutely delicious and healthy. The shrimp toast, Brussel sprouts , and pot stickers are always beautifully prepared and delicious. The wine list is good and reasonably priced. The servers and managers make every customer feel welcome without being overbearing.
amies, Thank you for your continued patronage! Our staff work very hard to make sure our guests dining experience keep consistent and happy to know you've experienced all that hard work :) Thank you for being a part of the TenPenh family. If you're not already, on your next visit, ask about our loyalty program so that we may forward benefits back to you! Thank you again and wishing you a wonderful weekend. Warm regards, TenPenh Tysons
It was Monday evening so the restaurant was quiet and the service was good. The food was a little too salty for my taste but not bad either. I don’t mind going back again but wasn’t too impressed either.
Made a late evening reservation after have a private White House West Wing tour and we didn't want to stay in DC. This was our first visit to this restaurant and we will be back! Food was DELICIOUS and great options for our vegan friends. Service was Outstanding!

I reserved a table and stated it was my birthday. They were very attentive to that. The menu I was handed said Happy Birthday and the hostess proceeded to wish me a happy birthday. Our water wished me a Happy Birthday and said that they would be treating me to a birthday dessert. The food was delicious. I would recommend to anyone food a great meal or having a special occasion.
Alicia, We're so happy that you had a wonderful time on your special occasion; so another Happy Belated Birthday to you. Thank you for taking the time in letting us know how we're doing. Have a wonderful weekend and hope to have you back with us soon. Best wishes, TenPenh Management
Unfortunately the AC was broken. Everything else was spot on.
The food was delicious and the service was incredible.
10sace, Glad you had a great time here with us. We certainly work hard to keep our standards high and improve upon them. I'm glad you were able to experience that with us. Thank you again for the kind message. We hope you come and visit us soon. Warm regards, TenPenh Management
I am looking forward to returning. All the manager's recommendations were great. We were treated like kings.
I am not normally an Asian fusion love but my wife and I tried it because we live close by. We were able to eat outside so the noise level was low but the restaurant wasn't very busy anywhere. I found the decor stark and not very appealing for my taste. We split crab cakes that were a disappointment, brussel sprouts which were spicy and very tasty (our favorite for the evening), edamame that was OK but not great, and key lime pie that was just OK. Although the servers were friendly and efficient, we aren't likely to return...
MarvL, Thank you for your input! We'll definitely make our chef aware of your review and do what we can do improve on those specific items. If there's anything more you'd like to share, please simply let us know. Thank you again for taking the time. Respectfully, TenPenh Management
My overall experience makes me sure to return again soon.. The service was spot on as was the ambiance and decor. The bao buns were delicious especially the shrimp ones. So good.. I wasn't totally thrilled with the special seafood dumplings but my friend enjoyed them. I ordered the chirashi which although small was absolutely delicious, one of the best I've ever had. And I've eaten alot of sushi. The key lime dessert was to die for. Amazing. A bit on the pricey side for the small portions but the quality of the food deserves the price. I will be back sooner than later.
AnnaS, Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us! We're happy to hear of your experience and appreciate the time for taking to do so. We hope you come back soon and maybe even try our HH with many of our dishes discounted along with drinks. It's a fun atmosphere that you may enjoy! All the best, TenPenh Management
