TGI FRIDAYS - Valparaiso
Very disappointed that we were greeted at the door with the words "We don't do Open Table anymore at this restaurant". Why then is it on the Open Table Website? We were in a time crunch. Thank goodness there was a table available in front of a very cold window, but it was a table.
On the other hand, our server was wonderful.
I called for reservations and they said the only way to obtain reservations was through OpenTable. So I made reservations, when we arrived, hostess said it would be a 20 min wait as she was seating + only one busing tables. The couple that walked in about 5 min after us was seated before us and they did not have a reservation. She asked if we would be willing to sit with another couple we were talking to that it "would be a lifesaver for her"????? Soooo, our date night ended up being sat with another couple??? Service was also poor and food not very good. Only wish there was an option for a negative review as I will not be returning.
Less than 10 diners at 6:30 on a Sunday night. The waitress refused to get my mother a smaller glass to drink from (she's 4'11" in a wheel chair with Parkinson's and needs a short glass), saying the short glasses could only be used in the bar for alcohol, but mom could have a paper to go cup. There was nobody even in the bar - a supposedly nice restaurant refusing glassware to diners? The manager made an exception and gave us a glass. My mom's salmon was completely overcooked. When the waitress took it back to the kitchen, we could hear the chef yelling about the issue and berating my mom for wanting softer fish - the whole restaurant could hear his outburst. Service was awful even though we were about the only people in the place. My Caesar salad was good, but based on our experience, we will not be back.
Service was the best, fast, it helped having reservations as they were pretty busy

Early Mother's Day dinner -- 2 of 4 items ordered were either over or undercooked. Manager stopped to drop of recooked steak. No follow up.
