The Anvil Club
Why have I only just discovered you? Food was outstanding! I ordered the halibut, my daughter ordered the chicken francaise and my husband ordered the scallops. Halibut was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious, my daughter said her chicken was good and my husband said the scallops were amazing. We also had a tiramisu,
creme brulee and a decaf coffee. Everything was excellent, including the coffee!! Portions are generous. Our server was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. She offered to take our picture which was a nice touch. Its very pricey but for the service, portions and taste, it is well worth it!
For a place the has a "dress code" and states it is "Fine Dining" this was NOT the case. Upon entering I immediately was put off by a place that "may" have been fine dining in its glory days. We sat outside with men in shorts, gym shoes and denim. The staff was less than "fine" more like a server at Chili's. Our extremely over priced food was INSANE! If you want fine dining steak take a trip to Gibson's. The ribeye ($67) was subpar and quite frankly looked like a glued together "frankenmeat" No flavor. My husbands prime rib was a huge hunk of fat. The highlight of leaving was when the woman at the bar stood up and said "Are you sh*tting me" to the person playing the piano. Real UPSCALE, FINE DINING Atmosphere. Save your money and go to Aliano's across the street. You'll at least want to eat your leftovers and not feed to your dog.
Great evening at the Club. New chef & menu are very good. Enjoyed all our entrees & key lime pie was fantastic. Service by Christy was excellent.
Outstanding service, the patio is lovely. The food was very delicious however a bit pricey. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
Had to spot out half my steak. All fatty and unchewable. Wasted $150
We had a bit of sticker shock, I would recommend checking out the menu. Kind of our own fault for not doing that. Really enjoyed the meal, including dessert!
The food was very good, particularly our appetizer which was Oysters Rockefeller. My husband ordered Scallops and he said excellent. I had the Grouper and very tasty. Our dessert of Tiramsu was excellent.
Good food. Good service. You can probably find same quality experience cheaper at the other steakhouses.
Food was great l, and the staff was wonderful. Will go again.
Great food and service, Devan our server was great.
Food and service were excellent. Will definitely go there again.
Our dinner was outstanding and was matched with perfect service! This was our first time dining at The Anvil and already looking forward to our next visit!
The entrees not good. Prime steak tough and potatoes and vegetables cold. Very disappointed as we have been going there for years.
The beautiful outdoor space with the string quartet and excellent service made the evening fantastic. The food, all of it was delicious, unique artichoke heart and tomato salad, savory and flaky white fish were my favorites. We will be back. A hidden gem.
Outstanding service from Michelle. Was a member 15 years ago and so nice to enjoy the same menu out on patio. Strongly recommend a night with live music and lights!
Delightful special occasion dinner location. Pricey but I would go back again in a heartbeat.
What can one say. Food was amazing staff on point. Our table belt growing as the week went on and they accommodated us with no issue! Number one second to none this is the place for a great meal.
The Lobster Bisque was very delicious, the Wedge Salad had plenty of Bleu Cheese - I think more then the last visit, very good. The Pork Chop was alright. Crème Brule was very good - nicely crusted on top. Had to work for the treat.
I'll be trying the steaks on my next visits.
We were there for dinner the first time. It was a Sunday afternoon at 4:00pm. There were very few other diners. The prices are equivalent to what you’d pay at an upscale steak/seafood restaurant. We chose this restaurant because of the old time ambiance and history associated with it.
We weren’t impressed with the food or the service. The hot rolls were not prepared when we arrived. It was quite a wait before they appeared at the table. Our server was satisfactory, but sometimes disappeared. My lamb chops were overcooked. It took awhile to find him, although when we did, he had the kitchen redo them. A regular portion of meat is too much. I always order the lollipop chops, which are fine, if correctly cooked. Other restaurants serve 3 small chops. The Anvil only served 2, which were underwhelming.
The best part of the meal was the beet salad.
I opened gifts in front of the server, but a special occasion was not acknowledged in any way, nor was the wait for my lamb chops to be redone the way I’d originally requested.
I would not recommend this restaurant.
My wife and I love going to the anvil club on our date nights! The food is exceptional the staff is attentive! We are never disappointed!
Very good. Price alittle high but overall very good
Excellent meal and superb service.
Everything was as wonderful as when the anvil club was private.
A great dining experience celebrating Father’s Day with my family
5 stars all way around
First time at this location. We were the only ones in the entryway waiting while the man was on the phone for awhile before were were acknowledged.
Seated quickly and spaced well for health and safety. Employees did not wear masks in any capacity. We did even tho we both have had our shots. We do are part in the community to stay safe and healthy.
Service was very nice by Michelle. Was able to have my Manhattan with Corbel Brandy. Food was very delicious. His steak and my halibut was prepared perfectly. Everyone was very polite and friendly. Manager stopped by checked in on us and other tables.
I would recommend this location always. Especially if you don’t want to drive to the city. This is a great local place.
We sat on the patio on Saturday night. So there was live music and the noise level was high. The inside dining room looked nice and quiet. It was excellent but I thought the steaks were slightly overpriced. We got the bone in rib eyes and they were good not great. Other than that pricing was reasonably priced to value. Service was excellent. Overall very nice experience.
Our server was awesome and the food was incredible!!
Food was VERY overpriced for the quality. Fish dish was good but nothing special. Chicken dish was not so good. The sauce had a strange flavor. The quality seems to have gone way down since its heyday as a private club. Website stated that attire was business casual but half the people were in shorts on a Saturday night. Also, it was less than half-full. The pandemic seems to have taken a toll on this place. The only good thing was the service.
We went for our 40th wedding anniversary celebration. Unfortunately we ere unable to afford to bring our sons with us, due to cost.
We are only able to afford the Club for very special occasions.
Great food. Great night. A little pricey for a regular stop, but perfect for a special night out. Recommend.
A relaxed delightful evening dinner. Food was superb, service was very personable.
Blown away by this place everything was so delicious. Will be back
We had a great night out. Overall good was good. But not the value we were expecting. Service was decent. She was stretch very thin with all her tables. I know the industry is hurting for staff. But when you are spending 35-55 a plate plus drinks we expect a little more personal service. Over all we enjoyed the music and food.
First time back since it went public. Wonderful experience and food was prepared perfectly. There is a price that comes with this so be prepared.
Fantastic celebration of 92nd birthday of mother-in-law (former Anvil Club member Barbara Klass). Very special evening.
We were delighted that there was a dress code - no distressed denim or athleticware. People are respectful of this tasteful club and the servers/owners treat their patrons with respect as well. We heard the 5 piece jazz band as we walked in. Live music! Wonderful surprise. Our table was outside, but I might have foregone the beautiful summer evening had I known how lovely it was inside....next time. We had amazing Oysters Rockefeller which was luscious! Next time will try the Fried Calamari that we saw pass our table more than once. The flavors of the steaks we each ordered were intricate and interesting! Churrasco skirt steak was so good, perfectly complimented with the aioli. We then went to the bar to enjoy the band....and we did as well as the conversation with Jay in the bar. We look forward to our next visit!
Had a great time for our 25th anniversary dinner. We were seating in an area where we could talk and remember the past. The food as great as always and our server Michelle was absolutely wonderful.
Food was covered in so much salt I couldn’t eat it
Server never checked on us after initial order
Server was rude and disrespectful
Server Brie ugh to wrong dessert for 50th birthday celebration and then charged us
Wine was from old bottle, not fresh
What is there not to love here? Food is excellent, atmosphere amazing and the people attentive. I’m partial to the prime rib but never have had a bad meal here. If there is an issue say something. They will tend to it. They do great work and care about the people.
Food was delicious. Best calamari ever eaten. Friendly service and great amibiance.
Good food, great service. However we were shocked when the bill arrived with a $17.25 charge for a cosmopolitan. I did ask that they make it with gin instead of vodka. At that price they must have charged us for the gin the vodka or defaulted to the highest price gin they offer, instead of asking or providing us with pricing.
