A warm welcome awaits in this traditional but modern gastro pub. Interesting menu making it hard to chose. The smoked local trout with poached egg and watercress hollandaise sauce was inspired. The traditional Christmas turkey roast was cooked and served to perfection. Enjoy.
I could not recommend more highly.

Went for a Christmas Eve lunch.
Good food and nice selection, wine a bit expensive.
We were seated next to the fire which kept us and the dog cosy!

I have moaned in the past that the pub is too crowded to enjoy a meal well.
Unfortunately Covid has addressed this but at what cost to the business.
Food, as ever, was excellent as was the service. Such a great pub needs support but please dump the double sittings for Sunday lunch when we’re back to normal. I’ll be pleased to support you more.

Great food, really tasty & excellent service. Not cheap, hence the dip in value score, though having said that, portion size is generous. Open fire & new fresh decor & socially distanced tables. We do love it & are regular diners there.

What a great meal and a lovely atmosphere. As usual, the Baker's Arms delivered great service and alongside favourite beer and cider, we enjoyed the new menu enormously. Adam and the team do a great job and it's so good to see them back open again after Lockdown 2!

Service was friendly and fast, food was amazing, literally the only downside was the table wobbled a bit.

Absolutely lovely setting. The staff were friendly and provided excellent yet understated service. Choice of food was very good too, gluten free options available for my guest. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent dinner with friendly attentive staff. In spite of imminent lockdown 2 and several birthday parties and celebratory tables, we were able to soak up the atmosphere without sacrificing a quiet supper for 2.

We were running late for our time slot and kitchen was closing but they stayed open, staff were welcoming and food was great.

Lovely roast dinner! My husband had all 3 meats and I had the crab thermidor, delicious and authentic, a local gem.

Best Sunday lunch for miles

Service was excellent- professional, friendly and efficient. Portion size of meat for main course was very disappointing, 1 small single beef rib for £17.95 does not represent good value for money. Desserts- chocolate brownie and cheese board were very good. Wine by the bottle, prices a little on the high side. We had bread and olives for a starter to share which was a nice introduction to the meal. Not the best meal we have had here, but overall we enjoyed our evening.

Very good service. Food was good but just a little short of level expected given previous excellent reviews. Would return but choose different items.

We went for lunch for a friend's birthday. The friend is a very good cook, and very particular about what she eats. She had Dover sole, which she said was cooked perfectly. My other friend had the pork loin, also said it was excellent. i had a starter, sweet potato and chestnut tart- the filling was nice though the pastry was a tad overcooked and too flaky to cut properly, still good though.Service was excellent, and the atmosphere warm and cheerful

I thought the food was very nice to be fair, and I like the location and interior of the pub.

For me though, eating here at lunch time on a week day, for most of the main meals to be priced around £18 it just seemed extremely over priced.

The drinks were expensive also at over £5 a pint, and I just think that being that this is a country pub rather than a proper restuarant I don't think it is appropriate to charge such rates for food & drink.

If i'm going to end up paying a fair bit of money i'd rather go to Jamie Oliver/Gordan Ramsey restaurant or somewhere similary upmarket.

We booked on line and were called by the team to check we’d be ok with a road side table and we were so happy we took a risk. The quality of the food and service meant we hardly noticed the road, and the team went out of their way to do something slightly off menu and cater for a gluten free guest. It was worth the drive and it was a wonderful visit.

The best Sunday lunch I've had in a long time! We were hoping to have a desert but there was just so much for the main meal. Crispy roast potatoes, at least 7 vegetables and delicious gravy and sauce. We'll be back
