Great. Need 2 more heaters in tent

Brought my wife here for her birthday and it was great! The food was amazing the waiter was very nice and even though we were in a tent because of COVID it was warm and very intimate. Can’t say enough good things about this place!!

Very nice outdoor seating. Heat lamps were good, but it made my wine way too hot, and, at times, the space really got very hot. Each course was very good, but my dessert was sub par. Very good cocktail, too. Staff was very attentive and did a great job.

Great restaurant overall!! We cannot wait to go back.

Excellent food and service!

Every bite was sumptuous, from the wedge salad to the vegetable Provençal to the halibut to the lamb Bolognese. When the amazing staff weren’t looking, we licked the plates. The desserts were so good we wanted to eat the plates.

Great service. Lovely space. Server, believe his name was Tyler, took care of us with sublime energy and was thoughtful throughout.

Probably one of our favorite restaurants in Evanston. Great service as always. I would rate it a lot higher for ambiance if we could eat in the restaurant but they have done a great job with the tents. I appreciate their efforts to stay open during these difficult times.

Great date night - good food & good service. Ambiance was a bit of a miss (you're eating in a tent), but that's excusable given Covid times.

Great food and great ambiance! I felt super safe dining here during COVID-19. Although the seating is outdoors I felt super comfortable and warm!

We absolutely loved our dinner. The setting was beautiful outside under the tent with heaters and pretty lights, the server was lovely and very helpful. And the food was absolutely delicious! I highly highly recommend this place for a special occasion! Cannot wait to go back!

Our first visit, during COVID, and everything went extremely well. Service was friendly yet professional. The food is excellent and the outdoor tented area is warm and inviting. Definitely a gem in the area for us, as we prefer to stay local and not have to go to the love or River North for a good steak! Bravo! We will be back!

great outdoor dining setup, wonderful food and ambiance. never fails, always superb.

A bit hard to find but worth the heated & covered outdoor dining in charming setting. Good COVID protocol. Food was delicious. Prix Fixe dinner is good value and nice assortment of menu options. They were very accommodating to gluten free customers. Service was warm & attentive.

The tent in the back makes you forget you are dining in an alley. The tables were generously spaced, service people were considerate of distance. The tent temperature was comfortable and they have heaters. They were on but may not have to be as it was 70 degrees. No noise bouncing around. Food was excellent and on a Sunday night there were specials.

We had a great experience at the Barn. The food was really great, steaks cooked perfectly and delicious. It's on the expensive side, but we'll definitely be back.

Food was great. The waiter forgot a drink, forgot a person's order and did not really wipe the whole table for crumbs. So, my tip starts at 20% and gets knocked down when performance is not up to 20%.

Everything at The Barn was perfect. First of all, their Covid protocol was the best I've seen - they take your temperature, everything was super clean and covered, and to top it off they return your credit card in a wipe at the end. It was cold outside, but the breezy tent was warm from multiple heaters. Best of all, our food was awesome, and the steaks were even better than I remember. We had tons of fun and felt safe - kind of a miracle these days! Go here.

Food was very good as always. The tables in the tent were very comfortably space, more so than so other restaurant tents. And the heating was comfortable

Also, love the Frank Family Vineyards Chardonnay.

Amy Morton and her team have set up a cozy semi-covered outdoor fine dining environment. I had not been since the beginning of the lockdown period-- and was very pleased to reconnect with what is undoubtedly the best restaurant in Evanston. The steaks are awesome, and everything went to perfection.

I don't think there is a better restaurant in the Chicago area!

Pricey but consistent with it being a steak house.
They have made excellent accommodations for COVID, the giant tent in the laneway was warm and cozy....
and the server liked me calling the location on a “laneway”!
No need to be concerned about outdoor dining there this fall!

Great, we ate outside. It was very comfortable!

Waiter tried her best but my drink order was wrong, we weren't served bread and butter and my pork chop was terribly over cooked. I was surprised not to have a manager stop by after these mishaps. Disappointing because it's a great place but they are out of step right now.

Love this place. Everyone at our table loved their appetizers, entrees, and desserts.

We had a lovely meal at The Barn. The food was fantastic, service very attentive and they handled all COVID precautions very well. Their outdoor space has been set up very well to create a nice atmosphere.

Excellent dinner in the outdoor garden. We were worried we would be cold but the heaters kept things very comfortable and the ambience was lovely. Service was attentive; restaurant is clearly thinking carefully about safety and spacing, which we appreciated. The filet mignon was the best steak I have ever had. Stellar carrot cake also. Great cocktails. It was our first restaurant meal since March; felt good to support a local business.

Great restaurant -- as recent transplants to Evanston, we've fallen in love with the great service and great food that comes with a trip to The Barn. I highly recommend to anyone looking for an excellent mean.

Excellent food. Service started out strong w great explanations. Went a bit downhill after appetizer served, and disappointed considering the price of the meal.
Still an exceptional meal and a great choice for an occasion.

My wife and I went here for my birthday dinner. Both of our steaks were cooked to perfection, and tasted absolutely delicious. I had the potatoes and she had the mushrooms, both of which nothing was left. Very good drinks and VERY great service at the bar with Jeff. Had a very enjoyable time, it was pricey, but that is what I was expecting.

Had a lovely dinner at The Barn. The Halibut was outstanding, so were the drinks.
