We went to the Bavarian on NYE 2018. It was a party! With such a big crowd, the staff was busy, and yet the servers were very professional and the food and drinks were solid. The standout dish was a well seasoned and perfectly cooked pork belly. The only downside was our cramped table wedged between the service counter and the kitchen.

Great service, food was good. Although $5 for a pretzel is a bit steep... $15 for bread for 4 of us..... won’t be falling for that again

I had made a table booking thru open table and went there on time.. However the booking was not shown in their system which made us wait for some time there, then they arranged a table for us (6 people, went there at 5pm).. But as they were overbooked, they requested us to leave by 7.30pm, which we really felt rude.. This issue was solely due to the booking errors you've made and I dont really want to blame the restaurant..

We were seated at the far end, so it was difficult to get any service attention.

The 'Bavarian' used to be the beer garden of Manly - no more. Table service has been axed and the live music DJ makes you think you are in Ibiza. We loved to go and chill, talk and feast at the previous 'venue' ~ but our latest visit (May 17) was different. You had to shout at each other to drone out the DJ; the service was gone and you had to fight at the counter to get your order in. Food has always been great and if you like German cuisine ... you should go. But the atmosphere now - is gone.

We celebrated my son's 22nd birthday. Five of us loved the German sosages, the crackling pork belly and roasted pork platter. The beer is excellent. It is exciting that you can order 1L glass with beer! Great service and fantastic view of Manly beach near the Manly Wharf.

Can only book tables for 8 or more people

There was no service staff to take us to our reserved table

They did provide colouring and menus for kids
The fools ball table was an unwanted distraction for kids as you walked in to the restuarant

Fabulous service, views, and food - oh and I forgot the happy hour lychee cocktail - yummo 😊 was there again 2 days after my Birthday celebrations for happy hour again. Feel comfortable and safe going on my own, as bar staff and service staff are friendly and helpful. Oh - and the view for sundowners is superb. I will be back.

This was not what we were expecting from a bavarian beir cafe at all. It was only 5.30, and the music was deafening! Im only 27. But this was like a nightclub. You expect maybe some sort of german music, or even modern music at a level where you can repeat your order to your waitress without them having to get right in your face to hear you. The service was lovely. Our waitress was so friendly. The food wasnt great and they were out of pork belly already which was our whole reason for going

Let down booked 'nice' table for husbands birthday but put next to kitchen. No toilet roll in ladies toilets.

Great location, had booking for table by window for sunset ... too bad it rained. Food was good, beer was better... too bad it rained.

My party of 3 booked for lunch on a tuesday, expecting it to be rather quiet even though it was School Holidays. It was relatively busy but we were quickly shown our table, and given sufficient time to order, with drinks etc.. We had 2 people requiring Gluten Free options and the waitress appeared very comfortable advising us which of the items were suitable. Food was served quikly, I had the Large pork knuckle which is definitely worth it but you need to be quite hungry to eat it. We had no entree or dessert by choice as the mains were enough for lunch. Awesome location right at Manly Wharf.. My second time there for lunch and have never had any issues there

Well, it was Christmas day and we were stuck for anywhere that was open so this was it. The food was terrible and grossly overpriced. The ice cream came out in a small cardboard tub like in the supermarket with a plastic spoon, which would have been fine except that it cost $10. The dips entree consisted of scoop of commercial hummus with a few sticks of celery and carrot and cost $20. The mains were $35-$45 for paltry servings of again, non home made food. They were nice to our dog though.

The atmosphere made our dinner amazing! The place was buzzing and the food was good and the drinks were even better!

Went there for a birthday celebration. Food was great, so was the atmosphere. Would recommend and come back.

Family dinner.
Burgers- expensive with very little thought on what was supposed be included. Lots of chips, very little filling in the burger / garnish.
Side order of fries came out wrong.
Bar was slow considering it wasn't that busy. Drinks expensive.
Had to ask to order drinks, 3 times.
Had my meal replaced.
Very disappointing considering we have eaten there many times. Forget the "new menu" and turning tables.
Kids meals were free on Sundays, thankfully.
Ladies bathrooms dirty.

We had a share platter and it was awesome, the pork belly was cooked perfectly, we couldn't even finish! And at a great price too! Love the selection of beverages too, loved it!

It was actually a disappointing evening: they had run out of the food and drink that we wanted and the service was slow.

We don't often go to popular touristy places specially on a Saturday but the restaurant is in a good spot. Busy and kind of loud even though we got there before 5PM. Good beer and cocktail selection, as for the food .. well i would recommend their specialty which are the two pork dishes, If you like pork crackling then you come to the right place. Overall, a good dining experience. I can't really fault it as I'm yet to try their other dishes.

I never get out with my wife as we have 6 children and decided to have a night out , I was very happy with the beer cafe as I love my wife as much as I love beer , having the 2 together was a nice experience

The atmosphere is amazing and there was a huge variety of great drinks. I hoped that my birthday party would be a pleasant night with lots of alcohol and conversations with my best friends and Bavarian bier cafe without a doubt succeeded in achieving this for me. The location is also perfect as it has direct access to the ferrys towards the city and manly Corso

We went to have dinner for our 2nd wedding anniversary. Food was awesome but out waitress was amazing. Carina was so thoughtful, helpful and wonderful to talk too!

Eight of us for staff lunch . Didn't disappoint with good views friendly staff and great German beers . A range of food at our table . Whole Sole, Snitzel and Pork Belly all very good . Fish and chips a bit disappointing as nice fish surrounded with far too much thick doughy batter .Would recommend .

Booked a table for sat night. Gave us table in bar beside big groups of incredibly drunk people who had clearly been drinking all day. Not great when you have a teenager with you. Expect a table in the restaurant part if booking.

Beach hut atmosphere, Good Food, Good Beer, Good Service

The food was average at best, the service was slow taking up to 15 minutes for a drink to be out on the table. The bathrooms were so dirty it was revolting to go in there. The service staff were nice enough, but one mistake with our order and the poor waitress was dressed down so badly in front of us it was embarrassing. Standards of this restaurant have lowered dramatically since my last dining experience a couple of years back and I won't be going back.
