We just went for snacks and coffee . Just lovely , warm cosy fire . We love the beef fat chips they are amazing! Children’s menu is great , generous portions .

We had a lovely evening with great food. We haven't ventured out much recently however with the measures they have in place regarding Covid we felt very safe.

Very very limited menu. Just seemed to try pushing the bottomless chicken wings ( does this class as a substantial meal ??? ) other items on the menu unavailable. I appreciate it’s hard times but perhaps it would have been better for them to close for the night as opposed to disappointing customers. Not everyone was out just for a drink.

Eat things that you wouldn't think of or realistically cook at home. Very nice food indeed

When I booked our table I actually went in and spoke to the staff directly as I wanted to request a specific table. They said yes no problem at all. Not very impressed when we arrived that the table had been given to someone else!! We were taken to a table on the slightly lower level which in my option, has no atmosphere and can be cold.
My starter had then sold out and I had to ask 3 times for ice to make the wine cooler.
All on our table chose steak for mains after seeing the pictures posted on Instagram.. not cheap and not great. Very fatty.
This was my 4th visit to the Bear, I’m a local wanting to support them, but not had a great meal to date and have given up now. Such a shame

Lovely dinner on Christmas Eve Eve

Had several meals at the bear and never disappointed with the food. Service on a couple of occasions bit slow but put that down to find their feet. Did not spoil evening as good worth the wait.
Last visit was just perfect ! Including service. Well done on your persistence to crack it and get it right. Looking forward to next visit

Booked through open table what was listed on the menu for that day was not available so was a bit disappointed about that, the food was very good but I feel for the portion sizes a little over priced

A lovely evening for our anniversary. Fab service, everything felt very safe, quiet music - enough to set an ambience but not loud so we could chat. The food was outstanding. It's a bit pricey, but it is excellent and great for a special occasion.

We love the Bear and have been many times since it opened, service not quite on point this particular visit. Had to ask for things a couple of times and had to find someone to order another drink.

Great food as always. Service not its usual brilliance today. Asking for drinks repeatedly and not arriving.

We had a table for 6 outside, lovely food great atmosphere. Music slightly loud when first arrived by then switched to xmas music which was a lot better. Really good time had by us all, has made our Christmas, feel lot more upbeat now!

Fabulous characterful place run by super staff. Cooking done over wood and coals outside. Lovely flavours. Imaginative drinks list

Had the venison - absolutely amazing! Great to see a place with a select number of high quality dishes that are served to perfection.

The food was good and reasonably priced. The kids really enjoyed their meals. I'm always a little disappointed with the choice for desserts. The sticky toffee pudding was nice, but too big and too much sauce. The custard very disappointing, thin with little taste. The restaurant is well laid out, but very cold, especially the toilets.

Brilliant experience- had to sit outside because of meeting friends from another household. We were kept warm and dry and had a lovely.

Server was very helpful with drink and food selections.

The Sunday roast was faultless and so delicious . I was also pleased that they had mulled wine as that's a bit of Christmas that I look forward to and lets face it there isnt much to look forwrad to this year! We will be back.
