The Big Ketch Canton Street
great food and atmosphere. Quick, gourmet entrees. easy parking.
Accommodated our group for my wife’s birthday and did an outstanding job. Helped that the restaurant was fairy quiet on a Saturday afternoon, but great service and food!
Casual dinner with family for a birthday. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. Everyone enjoyed the food . We only wish the sun was shining but the restaurant wasn’t to blame for that
I have eaten here many times and recommended it to our group of friends. On the most recent outing, however, not all the food was not up to par. The hush puppies were burned and the server still served them to us. A second batch was offered. They, too, were burned but not as much as the first batch. My husband's scallops and shrimp were over cooked.
The crab cakes were excellent. Our friends ordered oysters and they had no complaints. Our guests had no other complaints about their meals. The smashed potatoes and broccoli were very good.
We went for lunch and they were not very busy. I ordered the shrimp with the sweet chili sauce. It was really good. The Brussels sprouts are always so good, my husband kept sneaking some off my plate. He ordered the fish and chips and said that they were excellent. It was a nice portion too. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. We joined their frequent dining club, which includes other restaurants as well as The Big Ketch. So I gave our waitress the card and much to my surprise we had earned a $10 credit. We love coming here, it is one of our favorite restaurants. Everyone is so nice and friendly.
The triple Ketch and grouper entrees were delicious. Baked oyster starter is excellent. Service was very good. John Collins, manager. chatted with us and asked about the meals as valet parking.
We were seated in a booth near the bar. From the time we were seated I could hear the bartender constantly complaining about how she was so busy. I ordered a Skinny Margarita with salt. It was served to me with only about 1/4 of the rim salted. My friend ordered a specific white wine and they were out of it. He then changed his order and his wine came with flaky mystery items floating in it. We both sent our drinks back. No apology was offered. My husband ordered ranch dressing and they were out of it. My friend ordered brussels sprouts and they were out of them. My friend ordered Scallops. He had to spit it out because it tasted like Lysol. My grits were served luke warm at best. We sent both back and they were satisfactorily replaced by the restaurant. At one point a gentleman came to the table explaining that they were very busy the night before. He never introduced himself; maybe the manager? Impossible to know because no one wears a name tag. For dessert we ordered the blondie with whipped cream. When it got to our table the whipped cream was all melted into just a wet spot on the blondie. We also got a complimentary dessert because we were celebrating my friend's birthday. When the waitress brought the dessert she lit the candles at the table, right in front of the birthday girl. My friend was seated with her back to the kitchen. The waitress could have easily lit the candles at the empty table behind my friend, which would have made for a much nicer presentation.
Love the ambiance of the restaurant. We sat in the bar area. Nice big tables. Wonderful service and the food was very very good. Seafood fresh and well prepared. Sides were also flavorful and perfectly prepared. Will go back.
Hubbie and I made a return visit to TBK to use gift cards we received on our previous visit in January. That meal was comped because of lengthy delay in getting food and when we finally got it, one order had the wrong side dish and wasn't hot. This time I can't comment on food because we left after an hour and half without being served. We had a 7:30 reservation and, due to computer snafu and a full house, we weren't seated until close to 8. We promptly ordered a Cesar salad and two entrees and then the server disappeared. Eventually a scrawny Cesar came out and then nothing. By now it was approaching 9:00. We were offered complimentary chowder (not hot) by a different server who was very apologetic. The manager came over to apologize and offered more gift cards. We said thanks, but no thanks and left. The kitchen probably hadn't even started our order because there was a table of 8 that had been seated just before us and they hadn't gotten their food yet either. Hubbie posted a bad review on Google and the manager responded that he'd like us to come back for a free meal. After our last 2 experiences there, we're giving away the gift cards we got in January.
Food took about an hour but waitress went above and beyond, including warning us in advance. She was wonderful. Everything else was pretty bad.
Server and everything was great. Kitchen was overloaded and took 75 minutes to get entrees. Food was good.
Fun evening with great food
Celebrating a birthday. It was a great dining experience!
Service was ok. My wife ordered a half dinner salad and it was served in a small soup bowl. Additionally, the fish she added for $14 was at best a half portion as well.
Always our best choice. Love the Brussel Sprouts. Having our son and future daughter in law’s rehearsal dinner at the Ketch.
Great service and good food. Not very crowded so the service was outstanding. Impressed that most of the seafood and fish is fresh and wild.
We've eaten here several times, for lunch and dinner. It has always been a good experience all around! Good servers, great food, priced right. We will definitely keep coming back!
Food is always consistently good. Casual and comfortable.
Food was good but nothing special. A family donned nearby with one really loud talker. We could barely hear each other but we heard every story he shared. That’s not the fault of the restaurant but it did detract from the ambiance. We don’t regret eating here but have no intentions of visiting again.
Maybe the best seafood in Atlanta! (Minimum 50 characters in review?)
Service was fine. Decor is great. Food is better at other seafood restaurants. Dry fish and soggy chips. Couldn’t taste the crab in crab cakes.
First time we had dinner at Big Ketch.
Service was great. Loved the hush puppies.
Food and service were good but the grits tasted sweet instead of savory. The chocolate cake was awesome.
Great service!! Friendly ambience!
The variety of dishes was awesome. Loved the lobster roll and the tune chips. Lobster bisque was very tasty.
The food was excellent and we will definitely be back!
Our mid day meal (I had the grilled scallops) was delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the wonderfully prepared sea scallops, scarfed up my Brussels sprouts which were deliciously roasted and enjoyed my cup of lobster bisque to start. The desserts were reminiscent of Sara Lee, so I won’t bother with them next time, nor does my backside need me to ... but one goes to The Big Ketch for sea food anyway and it did not disappoint.
Fabulous tasty seafood!! Cocktail were creative and delish!!
Anniversary. Got a free dessert! Food was very good!
All good, arrived early and sat in the bar until our table was ready. Food and service were great!
Very good. We go there often. We like to sit outside. Only problem was when we got there they didn’t seem to have our reservation.
Our waiter, Corey, was on the ball. We had a fabulous time and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We recommend this place to everyone we know. It’s our favorite date night location.
Great lunch for V Day with my kids. My food was great and the service was fast and attentive.
Big Ketch didn’t disappoint...our second ever visit was outstanding...service was great, food outstanding...great overall experience!
My complaint was that the phone was not hot - just luke warm
Poor quality food
Lobster roll was delicious but skimpy. Brussel sprouts are unbelievably good. Service and attention was excellent.
We made a reservation for 4 and were seated in a timely manner. The food was really delicious and fresh but the menu was totally devoid of any allergen notation and the waiter could not answer questions regarding gluten free options. I do not recommend for someone that has food sensitivities.
Good service, food and atmosphere. We would go back
