The place was very busy on a Sunday night. The waiters were hustling! Our waiter was Brett. The food came out quick and the orders were correct. I started pouring so the waiters had to batten down the tent sides. We had fun. We would come back.

Have never had a bad experience here! Love the atmosphere. Big portion meal- I did the scallops prepared with pecan brown butter and it came with a baked potato, fresh veggies, rice and black beans. I also had the seafood chowder as an app, there was a ton of seafood pieces in there which normally isn’t the case. Our server Campbell was great, she did an awesome job.

The outdoor area is large. We had a reservation and was seated right away. The service was slow. The entrees came before the appetizer’s were served. The manager apologized & comp’d the appetizers. The food was just okay. Nothing special. I will not return

Meh….the outdoor space is fun but the food leaves a bit to be desired. My partner’s baked potato was not even a tiny bit warm. And the prices have gone up SO much - $32.50 for a dozen oysters??? I’m sorry - that’s ridiculous.

VERY busy. We made a reservation for 6:45, got there about 6:15 and still waited til almost 7 to get seated. Trout almandine was great, service was a bit slow (short staffed like most places but everyone seemed to be helping where they could to clear tables). We ate near the shoreline so scenery was great, too

Dogs should not be allowed in the restaurant. I know it’s all about the money but have some consideration for customers who don’t want a barking or panting dog beside them when they eat. There was actually a Great Dane walking around the restaurant. I like dogs as much as the next person but they have their place.

Went for Sunday Brunch. Sat outside enjoyed the view while we had a Bloody Mary and a few local Oysters( not our favorites but that’s all they offered). The Sushi salad had great flavors, would try again. Eggs Benedict was ok- one egg perfect, the other a bit done. All in all it was a nice Sunday.

The loud band made it impossible to hear conversation at my formerly favorite restaurant on HHI. whoever decided to change the atmosphere made a poor decision. I doubt I’ll return. The front desk young woman and the wait staff saved the reservation so the entire evening wasn’t a complete waste of time and money. Too bad because I used to enjoy Black Marlin.

Food was as terrible. Calamari was small tasteless and nothing but fried batter, worst ever. Husband had seafood pasta because waiter said they are know for seafood and it was skimpy and the seafood was awful, small and tasteless. Never going back.

On HHI for my birthday week. Had eaten at the Sunrise Cafe around the corner before, but never at the Black Marlin. It was a great experience. Service and food excellent. Of course, be sure to have a signature Hurricane drink . I didn’t need another souvenir glass, so had it at the “refill “ price. It’s not a New Orleans Pat O’Brien Hurricane, but was still good. When you finish your meal, hang around outside at their Hurricane Bar for live music and the atmosphere!

Zack, our waiter was outstanding. He was extremely knowledgeable on the menu and offered several suggestions. Even though he was extremely busy he was very attentive to us. We agreed, all of our dinners were over seasoned, too much salt. Several of us had grouper and it smelled and tasted “fishy”. We’ve been here before and always had a fantastic dinner, not so much this time.

The server was friendly but seemed to have too many tables so service was not the best. Not his fault as he was very pleasant and accommodating while at our table. The ambiance was great. Nice patio seating with a lush scenery. The food was nothing great. Two of us had the fresh swordfish. Portion was small and it didn’t have much flavor. One of us had the stuffed shrimp that tasted overly fishy. The Mahi sandwich and sweet potato fries were great. The sushi nachos were outstanding!

We were looking for a special occasion place (anniversary)We are here on vacation, so not familiar with the area. The reviews were good. I searched for “fine dining”,And it was listed. Nothing was bad. Everything was average. But I was hoping for special and different. Seems most places here have the same menus, prepared the same way.

Mother’s Day celebration, wonderful outdoor seating. Server was nice and kind but had to many tables and no help. Food order was completely wrong, server took full responsibility. Manager have very little to say and no compensation was even considered. Food was good but would have been better if it was what we actually ordered. Nice spot will return and hope for a better outcome. Buffalo shrimp app was delicious
