We had salads and soups. Both were exceptional!

Our server, Chris, was excellent. He was very friendly and knew the menu inside out. Our food was great. We had a delicious meal for a reasonable price.

Black Marlin has a lonely waterfront setting! It was quite breezy so we moved in to their enclosed patio. They could use more outdoor heaters! Food selection mostly seafood and service always friendly and excellent! Great seafood chowder!

Stopped at Hilton Head Island on our way back to Florida and so glad we did! Tried the Black Marlin after a suggestion by my son to not miss this restaurant and he was right! Absolutely fresh and delicious, excellent atmosphere inside and out with terrific staff! I would give everything more than 5 stars if I could. Can’t wait to come back this summer and try all of their restaurants! Thank you so much, Sam, for your attentiveness and recommendations!

Got there on a Sunday night...we reserved outdoor dining. It was vacant...tables were not set and it had no ambiance just a bunch of empty tables....our waitress was great...but food was lacking, especially the crab cakes which they very nicely took off the menu! Just expected the food to be more like their other restaurants...maybe it was just an off night! But service was excellent and the manager was so pleasant!

Had brunch outside. Everything went fine. The food (breakfast burrito and California wrap) were both quite good. Coffee was just right. The service was fine. Staff was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere worked out perfectly. Large brunch menu. Recommend highly.

Enjoyed dining outdoors near the water. My Shrimp Fra Diablo was great but my husband’s meal was horrible. The piece of grouper was hard and stringy as if it wasn’t cooked. He didn’t even eat it.
There seemed to be plenty of servers on staff yet we never saw our waitress except to take our order and bring the check. (I guess maybe she had tables inside?!)
Not sure we will return. Lots of other choices on the island.

We had a fantastic experience at the Black Marlin Bayside Grill! The food was DELICIOUS and the service was wonderful. Our server was Brett and he was very attentive and helpful. He knew the menu inside and out. When we visit Hilton Head again we will be back!

This is not the food we are use to here it was a very busy time. Our waiter was good. My grouper didn’t have the brown sugar pecan topping. I just let it go. Next time we go won’t be on a holiday.

I don’t remember the name of the waiter. We got there and one of our twins was upset and he knew what to do to help us clam him down. He bought orange slices and some crackers. Our boy clam down right away.

We came, we tried. The food was mediocre at best. We had the cheese triangles with marinara and shrimp and artichoke dip appetizer. Shrimp and artichoke dip was watery and chips tasted slightly burnt. For meals we ordered the seafood trio to share and our daughter had the kids pizza. All were OK and edible but nothing to rave about. A large party of 20ish people behind us talking about how they all got Corona virus and STDs, was more interesting than the food. We will definitely try another place next time.

Food was average

Based on the reviews our party of 4 was expecting much more. My grouper was dry and not warm. There are too many other places on the island where I can have a better meal. I wanted to love it here but won’t be returning.

Food was barely warm. Wait person did not come by after meal was served to ask if everything was ok. Had to ask for bread. Our salad had no dressing. The salad was comped. We have dined there many times and enjoyed our food. Chalk this experience up to covid!

Exceptional service with Cory simply couldn't compensate for marginal food. We sent the brie bites back because they arrived too fried. The second batch was less scorched, but tasted primarily of coating. The risotto with the main dish did not resemble a traditional risotto. This was very gluey and chewy. We've eaten here before and it was good. The kitchen was not on their A game this time. Did I mention our server Cory is wonderful?! We will give it another try in a few months...after we hear from others that they had a good meal!

We had a wonderful last night Christmas celebration with our family. Our waiter Brandon was awesome and helped me with an entree’s dietary issue. It was absolutely delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. As always the view of the inter coastal is amazing! We will be back.

This was our first time at the black marlin. The server made excellent recommendations and the food was outstanding. Great location and scenic view of waterfront. This will be a new go to place for us

Seafood was fresh and good. It was nice sitting outside under the tent. Patrons were far apart. We hadn't been in a while, but we'll be back!

Our family of 5 was celebrating my husband's 70th birthday. We had a great time with wonderful food, a beautiful view (before sunset) and exceptional service.

We always dine at the Black Marlin when we travel to Hilton Head. It is one of our favorite restaurants and is always outstanding in all aspects. Food is exceptional!

We dined in their outdoor patio for brunch. The location is right adjacent to the marina and is quite pleasant. The food was delivered warm and cooked perfectly. The wait staff was friendly as well. Will definitely return in the near future!

Sprimp and grits nof as good as previous visit. Server recommended chicken provecal, sauce was tastless, chicken was tough.

Nice heated patio and extensive menu. The sushi nachos were delicious!

Seated two large parties too near to our table. With COVID it made us uncomfortable.

Sitting outside backs up to another bar and around 9 PM the bar filled up with every twenty something that lives on the island. Unfortunately it was just a really strange atmosphere and would not recommend.
