The Boathouse at Short Pump
複数の日付でご予約可能Tucked behind frosted glass doors, and accommodating parties up to 10 beneath an impressive chandelier, our Owner’s Table offers the private dining feel your group has been looking for. Traditionally we have not guaranteed seating, but now through OpenTable Experiences, we are able to set aside a few of our best tables each night. The $5/pp fee reserves seating at one of these tables. There is a 20% service charge included, which allows us to pay a professional wage to our service teams. No additional gratuity is necessary. Reservation fee is non-refundable.
Crab & Artichoke Dip
served with toasted baguette
Broiled Seafood Combination
crab cake, shrimp, scallops, yukon gold mashed potatoes, asparagus, cocktail sauce
Ordering by phone at the table was a cumbersome process.
Serverless dining at this price point is not it. It was an awful experience. Half the drinks were wrong, salad was spoiled. Recieved a cut up bun with the crab dip. Left after drinks and appetizers to have dinner somewhere else.
Food and service are excellent. Booth seats are very uncomfortable- the seat backs are too vertical in relation to the bottoms. I also do not favor the automatic 20% gratuity added. I can understand the need to provide extra funding for servers but I do not like it being automatic. Seems like if someone is being served on site the gratuity should be left up to the customer
Brought out of town guests for a nice seafood dinner. Did not meet expectations, as we have dined at The Boathouse multiple times before.
The #1 issue is the ordering process. I understand that during the pandemic non-contact was necessary. But in the last couple of months, as we've started to go out again, we have found that personal service is starting to come back.
We placed our orders on four separate phones, with no one to ask questions about the menu. Food was delivered erratically, by multiple runners. First to the table was one person's entrée, before all the others had finished ordering. Apps and salads came together. Entrees came before app and salad dishes were cleared. One app was delivered with entrees (and sent back). You get the picture. Totally unsatisfactory. We were told by a manager (?) that this system for ordering is the direction they are going. Bad idea.
Food was not up to the standards from previous visits. Maybe too long under heat lamps, due to the chaotic delivery system?
All in all, a very disappointing experience.
Excellent food. The online ordering system detracts from the experience and is cumbersome.
The restaurant is in a nice location, even for a Mall setting. The food was just ok, Oysters Rockefeller should have come with bacon, non on them. The ribeye with béarnaise sauce was more like a lemon meringue taste. The servers were doing there best and appeared under staffed, however understandable as we come out of the pandemic.
Overall, it could have been much better.
The price point was worth it. Delicious! We ordered the lobster back and shared it. Also had the calamari, perfect, light and tender.
Overall the ambiance and service was great but the food missed the mark for us which was an unusual occurrence compared to past visits. This restaurant is more upscale therefore expectations are higher than other establishments. A $15 salad should not require me to remove shrimp tails and all of my lettuce should be vibrant green. The salad was not terrible but could absolutely be better. Our calamari appetizer was sparse and wasn’t as fresh tasting as we’ve experienced before. Hoping this was just a one off, but overall we enjoy this restaurant. The staff is always friendly and the environment is lovely.
We so enjoyed out anniversary dinner there last night!
Excellent Shrimp and Grits and Salmon entrees. Truffle Fries were very good.
The restaurant is limiting service by having in person diners order by phone and pay by phone at their table. This definitely reduces the amount of service required and would most definitely reduce tips. The restaurant has therefore instituted a 20 % service fee to pay its staff. So there is no incentive for exceptional service.
My phone would not properly scan the ordering UPS so our server did things the proper way, and provided personal service. he was an excellent server.
This is a very good restaurant but they are moving in the direction of a Sonic.
You order on your phone, which is fine and easy, but we did not receive regular check ins with the server. We had to seek out a server and ask for everything. Our server was nowhere to be found most of the time. The food took a long time to come out. For the price we expected better.
Birthday celebration. Loved the phone ordering and payment system. Food was brought out promptly at appropriate temperatures. Husband had a discussion with the bartender about how they made their old fashions.
They pushed an online order app, what is the server for? Sign on table explained automatic 20% service charge as needed to offset low wages paid, really? Fried shrimp was greasy.
Excellent fresh seafood. Oysters were excellent as was a lobster with Mac and cheese.
Service was just typical for these times; nothing special. Food was disappointing. Crab cakes were mostly fill and certainly not Chesapeake style lump crab cakes which is typical for restaurants in this area at this price point. Scallops and salad was good, but overall disappointing for the price.
Great dining experience. Food and service was awesome.
They use an app that you have to use to order and pay Found it confusing. The waiter brought drinks and the food And automatically gets 20%.
Enjoyed celebrating a family member’s birthday @ Short Pump Boathouse. Had the perfect table, & liked having the fresh air surrounding us. Food was delicious, service excellent (thank you, Zach!) First time eating in a restaurant since Covid started—great experience!
There really was very little service for the 20% that was automatically added to the bill. Menu and ALL ordering was on your phone. Servers brought the food, but honestly, I was very disappointed at the charges given no service in my opinion. Won’t be going back for a while.
Our food was delicious! Great variety of dishes from which to pick!
At first getting used to the new service was confusing but it turned out to be easier. Delicious food
Our server Edwin was AMAZING. Calamari was fried to perfection. Shrimp & grits were one of the best we've had. Crab dip...delicious. We went for National Mimosa Day. But they only offer one standard flavor mimosa. That was disappointing but not enough to be displeased with the overall experience.
Seating near a large table of children is a challenge
The waitstaff were good, could have been more attentive
The service and food were horrible. Guess that is why they automatically add your gratuity. Will not visit this location again.
Good food and drinks. We celebrated our anniversary there. Be prepared to order online, and pay online. Also be prepared there is an automatic 20 percent gratuity.
The food was amazing, but I did not appreciate the fact that they automatically add 20% gratuity when the waitress doesn’t even come to the table. Everything was through the app and other people brought the food. We saw her one when we were seated and once to refill water.
Thought the raw oysters were a little bit pricey for a dozen , 30$. and then just 8 steam and peal shrimp for 16$. Inflation , I know but kinda was a bummer.
Drinks. Apps, Entrees all great. Waiter very attentive. Explained touch less ordering thoroughly and touch less payment was easy.
the food, as always was great. the service was awful. and, the 20% tip added to your bill automatically was offensive.
The contactless ordering is cumbersome and not conducive to a enjoyable meal. The automatic 20% gratuity is something I expect at an extremely high end restaurant...not at one attached to a mall. The server was fairly attentive, the portions were adequate and the meals were flavorful.
Always a good experience here. Book in advance and take advantage of their seating options.
Never again. Terrible food. Horrible service. Crab cakes are basically bred no crab. The crab dip was a joke- it was basically a cheap spread. Fries were cold. Mash potatoes were cold too. Over priced snd they add 20% gratuity automatically. The serving staff don’t care because they know that as soon as they placed the order they got their tip. Avid this place at all cost
Absolutely delicious food, crisp and cold wine with a nice large pour, and super friendly and attentive people!
Very pleasant experience, including excellent food and service. Covid-19 safety precautions are appropriate and appreciated.
We found a wingnut in our soup but they apologized for it and comped our meal. Otherwise great time!
While the service was great and super accommodating, most of the food was a huge let down. The shrimp were over cooked, the crab cakes were all filler, and the asparagus that I had was unseasoned.
I will say the redeeming dish of the night was the dynamite shrimp. Fried to perfection and complimented by the addition of pickles.
I had been looking forward to going to the Boathouse for a while, but I can’t say I’ll be going back anytime soon. I’d rather spend my $$$ at another nice restaurant like Perch or The Tobacco Co.
It’s really too bad because like I said, the staff were excellent.
Excellent experience. Service was great. At table ordering and checkout was a breeze c
