The Buck Hotel
We were very pleased with our dinner reservation at the Buck Hotel. It was our wedding anniversary and the staff was accommodating to a special request I asked of them. The hostess was very sweet and our server was great. Thank you
The Buck is always a wonderful experience. Love the food. The service was terrific.
This is one of our favorites places. Great food and service.
My family and I love the buck but this was the first time we had a sit down dinner there instead of just bar food.... and I’d rather have the bar food. Nothing was that great except the cheese cake. Just ok.
Live band in the next room precluded a quiet evening and other patrons seated near us were loud. A little pricy, but food was very good. We will go back there.
Had a great experience the food was amazing and as we finished dinner we went over to the bar and enjoyed the live music
Great night at the Buck! I would recommend to others
We opted to dine here on Valentines Day. The seating arrangements called for lower and upper floor. We were seated upstairs and all the way in the back. It was dark, the atmosphere was dodgy and we felt completely disconnected from the establishment. We dined where the help would normally dine. Frankly, it was weird. Downstairs was a lot nicer and there were tables available when we got there. Why were we then whisked off into obscurity? To that end, our server was courteous and efficient, and the food was good. Would we go back for Valentines Day? Probably not.
Perfect Valentine’s Day date. Great food, awesome service, and a band at the bar after.
The evening was very pleasant. I expected it to be a little crazy because of it being Valentine’s Day but I was pleasantly surprised. Our food came out in a timely manner and it was very good. We’ll be returning.
Nice atmosphere and the food was good!
Great food, service and atmosphere.
Our waitress, Aya M, was delightful and definitely went the extra mile to make our visit a fabulous experience! When making the reservation online, I asked for a quiet location for my 90 year old mother. We got a seat right next to the fireplace 🔥 ! I had also asked if a small cake was available but was told no, but they suggested something off the dessert cart and put a candle in it! Great! My mother would love the surprise! After a delicious dinner, Aya M asked if we’d like to see the dessert cart. My mother said, “No, we have a cake at home.” Oh, no, now what? Aya saw my look of concern and took upon herself to help the situation. She got a piece of cheesecake, put a candle in it, and then caught my eye for approval. I nodded Yes and she presented my mother with a surprise! Good move, Aya M! Thanks so much for your quick thinking and wonderful service!
Great service, great food
First of all the quality of the Ruhlings Seafood is very good. I had stuffed flounder w/ crabmeat. It was expertly prepared and hot. My wife's seafood dish could have been warmer, she said. No complaints from our friend who had chicken parm with linguine. My small Caesar Salad was actually fairly large and extremely fresh and flavorful. No desserts.
Vibrant bar scene in the adjoining space and there is a banquet room on site as well. It is popular for weddings. Given the outside appearance of the entire space, I expected a more posh and upscale restaurant dining room. It resembled a place you might find in the mountains. It did have a few gas fired fireplaces, though. It wasn't bad but not what I expected when I reserved. We were in suits and my wife in an evening dress coming from the opera in New York. There was no need to be dressed this way as it is extremely casual. I also thought, overall, the menu was overpriced for the space. E.G. my stuffed flounder was $34.00, and it did include two sides. Top tickets I believe was a steak offering for $54.00, but there were other meat/steak options. Large menu. I might try the bar next time, if there is a next time.
Great food, excellent service
It was my daughter’s first time there for our Holiday lunch.
The ambiance, service and food were excellent.
This might be an annual event to share with my daughter for the holidays.
Great server Nd food
Enjoyed our yearly Christmas lunch. Was very nice, food good, service good, company excellent. We love coming to the Buck for lunch on our special get togethers. Always choose the Buck!
The service was terrible with our waitress rarely available to refresh our drinks, etc. We had to use the bus boy to hunt her down to get a drink and to pay our bill. My son in laws entrée was terrible with no flavor and my friends soup came out cold. We will probably not eat here again.
Birthday dinner for my daughter-in-law. Appetizers, drinks and food were excellent. Service was also excellent. Will return.
Very good. If we didn’t live so far we would of went into club.
The band in the cocktail lounge was way too loud for us to enjoy dinner.
The ambiance on our visit was special as we were seated right next to the fireplace.
The food was very good and while maybe not the best value for the money, I think it worth going back for again.
But what really made the evening was Justin T's service. This dude was very professional, very cordial, very considerate and, for the most part, extremely timely. We think service really can make or break your experience, and Justin made it an awesome evening. He should be commended for the impeccable way he handles himself!
We were there to celebrate my sister's 70th birthday. We agreed to come back to The Buck Hotel for our March birthdays.
Excellent spot for a holiday lunch. Menu was perfect and lots of well marked gluten free options.
Wonderful experience. Staff very friendly, fabulous food - a really nice menu with wonderful choices & the atmosphere was perfect for our Christmas brunch.
Great Server and amazing food!
Very good. The food was good the staff was very nice and efficient. Great value. I would definitely recommend it.
Food was good, waitress was a very good server. It was a nice atmosphere until a large group occupied the 2nd floor over is and made more noise than a herd of elephants.
The Buck is one of the finest restaurants in the area. I've been going there for years, and they never disappoint.
Consistently good experience
We had a good time. My only complaint would be food could have been hotter. There were several large groups that may have caused a delay in our meals being served quickly from the kitchen.
The Buck can sometimes be a hit or miss. I guess depending on the chefs on duty.
The food was delicious. Stuffed mushroom appetizer was all crabmeat. My friend order the Scallops and when it came we were both surprised to see 8 on the plate, you usually get 4 at any other restaurant.
I ordered the Stuffed Flounder, it was a little over cooked but still good. Will definitely be back.
There was no one at the hostess stand on a Friday night when we arrived with reservations for my birthday. We stood around waiting. Even going so far as to walking around looking for someone. We had a lovely evening, once we were seated. Our waitress Ay was cheerful, pleasant and friendly. There was only one issue with the food. The appetizer of "dirty shrimp." It was extremely salty. The toasts served with it were salty. The carrot sticks - a big no. This dish could have been improved served as a pasta dish, maybe as a main course. Add some green onion and some andouille sausage, some gizzards if you were brave. Then, call it dirty. It does not serve well with nothing to mop up what could have been an excellent sauce, if it had been less salty. In the seasonal beverage category, I would suggest some seasonal beverages that could be pre dinner cocktails. The drinks available were lovely dessert drinks. Other than those tweaks, we had an excellent meal and I had a nice birthday.
Had the broiled shrimp stuffed with crab Imperial. It was very good but the sides (asparagus and fried eggplant) were not cooked properly, almost raw. Snapper soup was excellent and clams on the half shell were good. Oysters on the half shell were small. Overall price was rather hefty.
Nothing special. Kinda disappointed
Everything was wonderful, from our seating to our food.
