The Cadillac House Inn & Tavern
Very cool place with great food and service. We stayed at the hotel and ate 4 meals each, couldn’t find one thing that wasn’t perfect.
we reserved a high top table didnt get one ended up in the middle of traffic the menu doesnt have many options and many items were "out" which we were not told until we ordered it. The smoked fish dip on toast, the dip was good but the toast was so hard you could hardly bite through it. The goat cheese entree was on the same hockey puck bread couldn't eat it. The burgers were good though but really if all we wanted were burgers we wouldn't have made the drive. beautiful restaurant terrible food and mediocre service.
There was 10 of us and we were quite pleased with the service and the price on the ambience!
Chowder soup was very watery. One order did have the vegetables and he did not realiz.e until half way thru and had to ask for them
Very nice atmosphere. Staff is polite and efficient. Centered in the heart of Lexington, Michigan. Interesting food choices. Tavern burger is my favorite!! Restaurant has a unique hotel on site and carries with it a lot of history.
The server was very attentive even though she had many tables. The ambiance is nice. The food was not desirable. My husband and I both had chicken (different items of chicken) both were overcooked/dry. Very little flavor to anything. I have tried this establishment a couple of times (because it’s local) hoping it will get better, but it just doesn’t. If your going to have a super limited menu then what you do make should be amazing.
My husband and I chose this restaurant for our first meal as a married couple - on our way up north for a mini honey moon. It was delicious and romantic! We ordered the market steak, fish & chips, and white fish spread - I recommend each dish! We can’t wait to come back!
Service was slow. Food was average. Menu was limited and not kid friendly.
SO wonderful. An amazing place to spend my Birthday celebrations with my best friend and family.
Our waitress Kylee was very friendly and did an awesome job!
We were very impressed ..great food and service was great..food came out so quickly if you are in a hurry!..we felt a bit rushed..just slow it down between appys and salad..otherwise excellent food
Very nice clean restaurant. We went with group from church, every one was pleased with how clean it was, service was very good, food was great. We will consider going back again in the future as we are exploring new places to visit for causal get together's
I am sorry to say that our first experience at the Cadillac House was not a good one. The food was delicious but our service was poor. It was close to half an hour before our order was actually taken. I feel like the waitress was over worked. When it came time for the bill, it was a total fiasco. After three times of trying to get our bills correct, we just all paid what was written on the bill, which still was not correct. Like I stated earlier the food was good, but we couldn't really enjoy it because we were so frustrated with the service:(
It felt like we were at Greenfield Village........Very historic......super staff!!!!!
Menu offered a little of everything- not overwhelming-staff friendly&honest-fish & chips, delish, trout good but slightly overcooked-salad skimpy-coleslaw, delish-all in all pleasant experience
Excellent service Waitress was super and very friendly
Our experience was mixed. We were warned by a few locals that the food was overpriced and sparse. Our large party of family members decided to give it a try. We experienced good portion sizes, but can only recommend a few of the dishes. The bean soup was good. The chicken salad sandwich was bland and on dry bread. The smoked white fish and Cadillac burger were good. The chicken dishes were light on sauce. Service was okay. We did enjoy spending a moment sitting in the rockers on the front porch.
We arrived at the restaurant and were told our table wasn’t ready just yet, so took seats at the bar and ordered cocktails- the bartender was very helpful and fast. Unfortunately, that was not our experience for the rest of the evening.
The hostess didn’t seat us as a table, merely pointed to one and said that’s where we were sitting. The waitress took over 10minutes to come to the table and I had to get up to ask the hostess what the delay was.
We ordered an appetizer which took a while to come out- not unexpected on a busy Saturday, but the waitress disappeared and didn’t provide any update. Our entrees arrived and were disappointing to say the least. The fish was dry and lacking in flavor, with almost no sauce. The whitefish spread was served with soft bread, not crostini as noted on the menu, and was perhaps 1/4 fish to all the other ingredients. The soup was bland and our salad did not come as ordered.
All in all, it was a very dissatisfying experience and we won’t be back again.
Everything was quite enjoyable until a patron who sat close to us yelled that his food was cold and he threw his plate on the floor; food splattered about. And then this rude patron stormed out banging the door so hard that we thought the glass might break. He upset the sweet waitress and his behavior made everyone feel uneasy. Of course, the restaurant is not to blame for this poorly behaved patron, however, I thought the manager should have called the police and then the manager should have walked to the tables close and asked if there was anything she could do to put the other patrons at ease.
Just still a bit slow starting off meal service but when it got started it was lovely.
Food was definitely good, but not great. Big portions and generous sides. We had brunch. My breakfast sandwich was delicious, and friends enjoyed their avocado toast though it was a bit plain (just avocado, no bacon, tomato onion arugula or other common toppings). Quiche was confusing being just eggs and Parmesan. Daughter said she enjoyed anyway. Ambiance is lovely though and was definitely overall enjoyable and well priced.
Awesome menu, the fish and chips were delicious. Very nice atmosphere and great wait staff.
The atmosphere is nice, newly remodeled but menu selection for breakfast is very limited.
Our service was great from the hostess to the waiter. One of us orderer the trout and said it was they best he has had. The remodel of the building is beautiful. Overall great experience!
The newly renovated Cadillac House is a small dining space with excellent food and service. Each dish had a special spin to it and made the experience very good.
Breakfast was not very hot and took forever for them to serve us.
Our server Kelsey was excellent - everything you hope for ... she offered great suggestions when we couldn't decide, checked on us adequately, but not too much, was mindful of our drink order when we wanted it later w/our meal and not before, etc. We spoke to Manager Mary before we left to tell her what a great time we had - she was adorably personable!! They both deserve a raise - hope that happens before we return!
Setting was nice but seating was not very comfortable. The food was ok but we expected more elegance based on everything read about the place.
We went for dinner, and then two days later for breakfast. Great food, great service!
Food and service was good. Nice ambience
Exception service and outstanding food in a unique setting! Thanks Conner!
Try the appetizers - super tasty!
We did the on line reservation and was seated immediately upon our arrival. Service by our server, Courtney, was excellent. Both of us had the creamy chicken over asparagus special which was very good (salad with blue cheese dressing and bread was great).
Glad they had a 45 minute wait at the Jammer. Congrats to your staff for providing us with an above expected experience!
The service & food was amazing. The wait staff was also so nice and attentive to our party. Definitely recommend!
Beautiful restaurant but missed the mark on food. Party of 14, and most main coarse were warm and over cooked. Service was outstanding
Service of dinner was long over 2 hours.
Food was great. Meatball appetizer was outstanding. Trout and pesto pasta was really good. Only complaint on food was that the ribeye was like sliced roast beef and overcooked. But Molly took care of it and replaced it with something else. Molly provided fantastic service. Kate does a great job. Love the place.
The Cadillac House is an oasis along the Lake Huron Coast of Michigan's Thumb. While we have not stayed in one of their guest rooms as we have a cabin down the road, we have eaten there several times and never been disappointed. My husband had the spaetzle with butternut squash and I had the pierogies — both were delicious. The drinks before hand were also great (special kudos to the bartender for the Sazerac) and the deep-fried local pickles with Green Goddess dressing for dipping were a great starter. The portions are a good size (not enormous, for a change) and you'll want to order the entire menu, particularly the starters. Fortunately, you have downtown Lexington right there to walk off your full stomach.
Excellent job restoring the Cadillac House. Service was great. Staff was very friendly. Menu was very limited. Plated meals were did not have good presentation and bland. We should not have to order sauce to give flavor to the fish. One person ordered a burger and it looked like the toppings of the McDonalds Big Mac. I do have to say the side of fruit that came with a kids meal was excellent. Would work on more of a menu selection than Pot Roast, Spaetzle and Meat Loaf. Again the service was very good.
We went to The Cadillac House on a quiet and somewhat rainy June night for my birthday.
The food was very good, I do wish our waitress would have told us the rolls had garlic in them, I have issues with too much garlic. I guess I should have asked too.
We did have to ask for plates for our appetizer and none came with our bread.
Just a few things we had to ask for that I felt should have been automatically done.
And she came out to ask us things about our order a few more times than i thought normal.
Perhaps she was new?
The ranch dressing for the cheese stick appetizer was outstanding, I ordered the Maurice salad...amazing and with the home made poppy seed dressing, very refreshing.
My husband ordered the chicken salad sandwich on cherry bread , he was more than pleased with that.
Food and service was excellent! Fried chicken anyway is amazing at the CH. I cannot believe they are not marketing for their chicken it was so good. The table ordered, salad, fish sandwich, chicken sandwich & trout everything they brought out was exceptional. The only thing I would not get again is the chips. They had no flavor, however everything else was great. The atmosphere is loud because the building is old, but it’s been redone to perfection. I have no idea where the people who said the food is bad are eating because my experience was great!
