The Cadillac House Inn & Tavern
Our reservation was poorly handled all around.... didnt get to sit where we requested and the staff appeared confused about all aspects of our reservation
The waitress was very passive aggressive. We got a lot of funny looks from everyone, including the customers (assuming because we are black). The food is not of the quality we paid for. I got a $24 ribeye wasn’t even an inch thick. It looked more like a skirt steak than a ribeye. My friend got macaroni and cheese as a side for an up charge of $3 and it looked like Kraft Mac and Cheese. The cheese was so chunky he decided against eating it, they didn’t even try to plate it nicely. Another friend ordered spaghetti and was only given two undercooked meatballs. She also decided against eating it. Another friend tried the salmon and it was undercooked and under-seasoned. The only reason this place gets one star is because the building is pretty. Black people please don’t come here.
Unique place. My wife loved the perch. Service was good
Service and ambiance were great, food was pretty average. Perch was overly fried and the house vegetables tasted super bland.
Loved the sweet potato fries as well as the delicious soup. The bar area is great with the high tables and the service was friendly and efficient!
Great place to eat and great hotelplace to stay in too!
Unprofessional and inexperienced staff, would not recommend unless you are ok with waiting 35 minutes to get drinks.
The food was tasty and the portion was plentiful. The service was outstanding. My only issues are that it was too dark - other guests as well as my wife & I had difficulty reading the menus - and I thought the price was a bit high.
Overrated and over priced . Food stinks and burger tasted horrible. Unfortunately it felt like a waste of
Money and the French fries were the best part of the meal.
We drive by every summer and wanted to check out the remodel. We finally went during one of our first outings since our son was born, the perfect location for a date night.
Great ambience, great menu, great people. However, the execution on the food missed the mark. I ordered a BLT, which is normally not that difficult to get right. But on this night I got a bacon and lettuce sandwich with little mayo. Now I love bacon and theirs was delicious but you can’t neglect adding juicy tomatoes and some mayo. The fault lies with the cook because everyone else was on their game. Also, need to fix the ranch as what I got did not taste Like homemade but out of a jug. I will definitely return and give another chance.
Great food and service! Must try the deep fried raspberry cheesecake!
Charming ambiance, friendly service, good value. My husband’s perch was great, but my chicken was quite dry.
The servers tried their best, but they had too many tables to keep up. The food was great and I loved that GF was clearly marked. First time I've had chowder in a restaurant in 15 years. Fun drink menu, too. Decor is perfect ... historic but minimal. We will definitely return whenever we are in the thumb.
Better food at the A&W .. trying to convince us that the ore Ida hash browns we were served were red skin potatoes.. extremely dry chicken breast..way way way over priced for what they actually offered
I highly recommend the beautifully restored Cadillac House in Lexington. Everyone from the hostess to the wait staff was extreemly polite and welcoming. Staff all had masks on and disinfected our table as we sat down. Excellent food. Classic blue and white decor fits beautifully with beachy town vibe. Loved it all! Will return again and again!
Very cool place with great food and service. We stayed at the hotel and ate 4 meals each, couldn’t find one thing that wasn’t perfect.
we reserved a high top table didnt get one ended up in the middle of traffic the menu doesnt have many options and many items were "out" which we were not told until we ordered it. The smoked fish dip on toast, the dip was good but the toast was so hard you could hardly bite through it. The goat cheese entree was on the same hockey puck bread couldn't eat it. The burgers were good though but really if all we wanted were burgers we wouldn't have made the drive. beautiful restaurant terrible food and mediocre service.
There was 10 of us and we were quite pleased with the service and the price on the ambience!
Chowder soup was very watery. One order did have the vegetables and he did not realiz.e until half way thru and had to ask for them
Very nice atmosphere. Staff is polite and efficient. Centered in the heart of Lexington, Michigan. Interesting food choices. Tavern burger is my favorite!! Restaurant has a unique hotel on site and carries with it a lot of history.
The server was very attentive even though she had many tables. The ambiance is nice. The food was not desirable. My husband and I both had chicken (different items of chicken) both were overcooked/dry. Very little flavor to anything. I have tried this establishment a couple of times (because it’s local) hoping it will get better, but it just doesn’t. If your going to have a super limited menu then what you do make should be amazing.
My husband and I chose this restaurant for our first meal as a married couple - on our way up north for a mini honey moon. It was delicious and romantic! We ordered the market steak, fish & chips, and white fish spread - I recommend each dish! We can’t wait to come back!
Service was slow. Food was average. Menu was limited and not kid friendly.
SO wonderful. An amazing place to spend my Birthday celebrations with my best friend and family.
Our waitress Kylee was very friendly and did an awesome job!
We were very impressed ..great food and service was great..food came out so quickly if you are in a hurry!..we felt a bit rushed..just slow it down between appys and salad..otherwise excellent food
Very nice clean restaurant. We went with group from church, every one was pleased with how clean it was, service was very good, food was great. We will consider going back again in the future as we are exploring new places to visit for causal get together's
I am sorry to say that our first experience at the Cadillac House was not a good one. The food was delicious but our service was poor. It was close to half an hour before our order was actually taken. I feel like the waitress was over worked. When it came time for the bill, it was a total fiasco. After three times of trying to get our bills correct, we just all paid what was written on the bill, which still was not correct. Like I stated earlier the food was good, but we couldn't really enjoy it because we were so frustrated with the service:(
It felt like we were at Greenfield Village........Very historic......super staff!!!!!
Menu offered a little of everything- not overwhelming-staff friendly&honest-fish & chips, delish, trout good but slightly overcooked-salad skimpy-coleslaw, delish-all in all pleasant experience
Excellent service Waitress was super and very friendly
Our experience was mixed. We were warned by a few locals that the food was overpriced and sparse. Our large party of family members decided to give it a try. We experienced good portion sizes, but can only recommend a few of the dishes. The bean soup was good. The chicken salad sandwich was bland and on dry bread. The smoked white fish and Cadillac burger were good. The chicken dishes were light on sauce. Service was okay. We did enjoy spending a moment sitting in the rockers on the front porch.
We arrived at the restaurant and were told our table wasn’t ready just yet, so took seats at the bar and ordered cocktails- the bartender was very helpful and fast. Unfortunately, that was not our experience for the rest of the evening.
The hostess didn’t seat us as a table, merely pointed to one and said that’s where we were sitting. The waitress took over 10minutes to come to the table and I had to get up to ask the hostess what the delay was.
We ordered an appetizer which took a while to come out- not unexpected on a busy Saturday, but the waitress disappeared and didn’t provide any update. Our entrees arrived and were disappointing to say the least. The fish was dry and lacking in flavor, with almost no sauce. The whitefish spread was served with soft bread, not crostini as noted on the menu, and was perhaps 1/4 fish to all the other ingredients. The soup was bland and our salad did not come as ordered.
All in all, it was a very dissatisfying experience and we won’t be back again.
Everything was quite enjoyable until a patron who sat close to us yelled that his food was cold and he threw his plate on the floor; food splattered about. And then this rude patron stormed out banging the door so hard that we thought the glass might break. He upset the sweet waitress and his behavior made everyone feel uneasy. Of course, the restaurant is not to blame for this poorly behaved patron, however, I thought the manager should have called the police and then the manager should have walked to the tables close and asked if there was anything she could do to put the other patrons at ease.
Just still a bit slow starting off meal service but when it got started it was lovely.
Food was definitely good, but not great. Big portions and generous sides. We had brunch. My breakfast sandwich was delicious, and friends enjoyed their avocado toast though it was a bit plain (just avocado, no bacon, tomato onion arugula or other common toppings). Quiche was confusing being just eggs and Parmesan. Daughter said she enjoyed anyway. Ambiance is lovely though and was definitely overall enjoyable and well priced.
Awesome menu, the fish and chips were delicious. Very nice atmosphere and great wait staff.
The atmosphere is nice, newly remodeled but menu selection for breakfast is very limited.
Our service was great from the hostess to the waiter. One of us orderer the trout and said it was they best he has had. The remodel of the building is beautiful. Overall great experience!
