The Castle Inn Restaurant & Country Pub

We had a mix of dishes from fish and chips to pizza and gammon all perfectly cooked and some nice desserts to follow.The staff and service here are always first class as are the cask ales.

Lovely food. Great village pub. Dogs welcome in bar area. Great staff. Although unfortunately while we were there we heard that we were going into teir 3. It’s such a shame for them.

As always the service was friendly and attentive.
Sunday lunch was beautifully cooked. We had our usual of trio of roasts. Meat cooked to perfection and the Yorkshire pudding was huge. Vegetable selection was seasonal. The whole menu is modern but still traditional.
I really can't recommend highly enough.
Always look forward to going.
So if you don't want the washing up, like good food and drinks and friendly staff give it a go.

Lovely food served by very pleasant waitress who was attentive without being over the top. Starters of ribs and wings delicious.

Was disappointed to be seated in the bar area, felt like we where in a gold fish bowl.... sat directly in front of another couple of when ample space to be used, even in COVID-19 times

Once again we had a lovely meal. The staff were as usual very welcoming and cheerful. We felt totally safe and well spaced out from other people who were eating.

It was the first time for Sunday lunch. Service was excellent.
The food was a good Sunday dinner.
I thought the price was a little high.
But I would go again.

Lovely Sunday lunch, nicely timed service, pleasant staff. All in all a lovely relaxed afternoon with great food and drink. My husband would say that Landlord beer deserves an entry in the Good Beer Guide.....

The staff are all so lovely and friendly. I felt like I was a regular and I was only staying with them for a week. Would definitely recommend although it’s on the high side of price for pub food .

Excellent food, very tasty and well prepared not your usual run of the mill pub grub. All staff very friendly, attentive and following all coronavirus regulations. The pub is very dog friendly (we ate in the pub rather than restaurant as we had a dog with us) with doggie treats behind the bar for our furry friend.

Simply delicious along with superb service. We’ll come again

We ordered 2 pizzas which were gorgeous, but I had the chicken strip but they were tasteless ,overcooked and a bit on the thin side

Service as always attentive. George & El delivering the table service with their fabulous humour and advice on food and wine. The Fish Pie was a great recommendation and delivered on flavour.

Timothy Taylors was best I've had for ages - most landlords these days cant seem to keep beer properly but no the case at The Castle. Food portions were just right, not over-faced and very tasty. Will definitely go again.

Had roast beef Sunday Lunch on 20th October, very disappointed. Only 2 very small pieces of beef, which was very thin, totally inedible, grisly and difficult to cut. The vegetables, potatoes and Yorkshire pudding very tasty and well cooked, otherwise this would have been 0 stars. Advised the waitress, who said " thank you for letting us know". Considering the cost very, very poor. Won't be visiting again any time soon

Our local, comfortable, safe, good atmosphere. Staff very friendly and professional.
We took our nervous newly adopted pup, we were made very welcome by all staff and other customers.

Drink selection great, I enjoyed my draught beer... thank you team.

Menue changes frequently enough to select something new each visit, all ingredients and cooking done with skill

Lovely evening nice food friendly staff.
The only thing that let it down was the lack of healthy food choices.
Majority of things served with chips or creamy mash only dish without these had deep fried meat.
However the food i had wsd very tasty and well presented

Good food and well organised. Felt very safe and clean under current guide lines.
