The Club, A Public Steakhouse
What a hidden Gem, a little off the beaten path to find but
Everything was great and the
Service was spot on!
We will defiantly be returning.
Great time out!! Food was delicious
Great service, food & ambiance. Great cenue for a night out or a special occasion.
Had an amazing experience the food was delicious and the service was excellent
From the service to the food outstanding.
We were able to eat outside beautiful deck overlooking the water.
Definitely would come back again highly recommended
Steaks came out overcooked twice.
This has been our third time having dinner at The Club and it has become one of our top favorites. Mark and the crew do a great job!!
Fabulous food. Fabulous ambiance. Fabulous service. Great experience
Our server was fantastic! Food exceptional. Great wine list. My only issue though it was promoted on their open table page, that they didn’t seem to have a good handle on their outdoor seating. We asked to be seated outside and were told there weren’t any tables for another half hour but then several tables were seated outside within 5 minutes of our arrival. And they do not take reservations for outdoor tables.
Food was outstanding! Nothing in Port Jeff on their level. 5 star food and service! Dylan was attentive and professional as possible! Expertly run from manager to staff and top tier food and service!
Definitely will be back! 5 Star Restaurant.
Service and food were excellent. This is surprising when you consider how recently this restaurant opened.
Great place, nice service, good management, relaxing atmosphere
Amazing!! Just amazing!!! Recently celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary there. Food fantastic! Service fantastic!! View amazing!!! First time there and we will be back!! Highly highly recommend!!
To start with our waitress was amazing her name was Riley.. ask for her when you go just so sweet and pleasant .. the food was outstanding along with the view.. the French onion soup and Burrata were great starters and the steak was delicious.. I lived the pecan pie as well for dessert.. such a wonderful and relaxing diner..
Absolutely beautiful place, great service, and amazing food! Mushroom ravioli, salmon, club fries, and strawberry shortcake were all fantastic. Can’t wait to come back :)
Our server was excellent. I wish I remembered his name. Very attentive and personable but not in an ingenue way. Food was great and comparable to other steakhouses. Only complaint was the party music above our heads. Didn't ruin the evening though. It was a great night!
Great restaurant, good drinks and food. Staff friendly and beautiful view. Will be one of our favorites from now on.
Food was good and hot. Nice drink selection and drinks were cold. Service out of kitchen slow. Staff attentive.
Food was warm. Shrimp cocktail wasn’t cold. Waiter was missing in action. View was gorgeous.
The restaurant has only been open for three weeks, we will definitely go back and give them a second chance at five stars.
The view was beautiful on a beautiful night. The food we very good. The ambiance was very good. The service was good but very slow at times. It almost seemed like we were forgotten about some times. Took very long to get my drink when it was not even a mixed drink. The waiter was very nice but not as on top of things at times as he should have been.
Spectacular. And Riley our waitress was flawless. This is our 3rd dining experience and all visits were top shelf.
This is called a steakhouse but the steaks were terrible. There was no sear or flavor at all and neither of our steaks were cooked to order. When asked how my steak was I said it had no flavor and was told there are 6 dipping sauces available. While many steakhouses offer sauces the steaks shouldn't require a sauce for flavor. With quality steakhouses nearby like Vintage and Tellers, and Fifth Season and Chachama offering better steaks while neither is a steakhouse, don't waste your time or your money. The cocktails were weak and nearly as bad as the steaks so it only made the experience worse. The only saving grace is the beautiful view but it doesn't make up for it's shortcomings.
Pricey, everything is a la carte and small portions but very tasty
Great place with beautiful views, great food, excellent service will be a regular here
This was a 5 star experience from start to finish. The "CLUB" decor harkened back to an earlier time when it was called the Belle Terre club almost a century ago and they even had archival photography used as part of the wall decor. The service was impeccable and impressive in my opinion. Our cocktails were made perfectly and served quickly, as we prefer. The appetizer I chose was the Snow crab claws, steamed perfectly and easy to crack. They were clearly fresh and quite tasty. I ordered the Cowboy ribeye and I can safely say it was probably the finest cut of meat I have had in quite some time. Overall, we left the restaurant feeling thankful to have this wonderful new venue right here in our backyard in Port Jefferson.
We had a wonderful dinner at The Club! Menu was great, food was outstanding, and service was fantastic - perfect trifecta of a meal! We will definitely be back!
Took my wife here Saturday. Absolutely beautiful place. We sat outside at a great table overlooking the sound and it was a wonderful atmosphere.
Service-wise, everything was fine it just wasn’t in line with what you’d expect from a typical upscale steakhouse, which is clearly what they’re going for. My wife ordered an “extra dirty” martini and, when it came back very light on brine, the server told us my wife ordered it “light” as to pass on the blame us. This was just unnecessary because If the server had just owned the error and gotten a new one, we wouldn’t have cared at all. It just seemed like a silly response given those words never left my wife’s mouth.
Regarding the food, we were disappointed. We started with the Tomato Burrata Salad with Prosciutto. The burrata was fine but there were just 3 small tomato slices with a small piece of burrata on each served on a giant (mostly empty) plate. The portions were just way off and it probably would make more sense served with either larger tomato slices, more of the slices they gave us or with an added crostini or something else to eat the burrata with. 5/10
For the Main course, I had the ribeye and my wife had the Filet Mignon - the Ribeye was not what you’d expect from a $50 steak. It was very thin and cooked unevenly (one side cooked more than the other). It was the same ribeye you’d find at a chain grocery store for $15-$18 - it was not even close to the caliber of ribeye you’d get at a traditional upscale steakhouse. 3/10
My wife’s filet was a good size and cooked fine but again, uneven temperature. No complaints otherwise. 6/10
For sides we had the creamed spinach which was excellent (9/10) and the Steak Fries. The steak fries were more like quartered potatoes. They were good but not really a steak fry (7/10).
All in all, this was a great place to spend a couple of hours but they miss they mark on what you’d typically expect from a “steakhouse”. At $220 for two people, The Club really missed the mark
Filet mignon was out of this world. I don't believe I've ever had it cooked more perfectly. Presentation was perfect. Very much enjoyed the entire experience.
The wait staff is not well trained and the food was just ok
My steak was cold
Hopefully this is just a warm up period and they will improve their game because it’s a spot I would frequent
Came here for anniversary dinner. Overall great and will return. They just opened so I'm sure they will improve as time goes on. Had long wait for the check at the end, waited at least 15 mins post dessert for the waiter to come for us to request the bill and then it took another 10 mins for him to bring it back over. The actual service our waiter provided was excellent throughout the meal, so perhaps it was a computer issue. In regards to food, all was pretty good except I did wish my salmon had the actual meat seared as opposed to the skin. Also wish there was more sauce on it since I discarded the crisp skin, i lost a lot of it by doing that. Definitely could be a simple personal preference on that food critique. Cocktails were amazing, wish they offered a to-go option like many others are allowed to do these days!
Day two so service was a work in progress. The good and the drinks were delicious. And it is gorgeous inside.
Great service and food
Decided to check this restaurant out since it was part of restaurant week. We were so impressed with the food that we booked our holiday reservations while we were there. Great find!
I went during restaurant week, but it was not busy at all at 7:30. We ordered from the menu and throughout the evening it was bringing out the next course before you even finished the first. My appetizer of mussels were just warm and not hot as they should have been and my husbands soup was the same. When the entrée arrived my mashed potatoes were a block and just a touch warm while my salmon was perfect. My husband had the chicken and mashed potatoes with vegetables. Hard potatoes, cold vegetables and the chicken was ok. They ran out of one desert on the menu. I just expected more from an upscale Danfords Country Club. I just felt that some food was left overs. And this was a Saturday night. I could have made this at home and I would have been hands down better. Disappointed. Our server was great though.
great view ! Muscles delicious ! butternut squash soup was ok. Salmon was good . My fish was dried out . They didn’t have my wine selection
Very friendly and attentive staff. Very good service. Food very good and plentiful. Was treated like a regular even though it was our first time.
Was there for the Restaurant Week menu. We were happy with the choices available and extremely happy with the Dinner presentation. The meals were delicious and the service outstanding. We will be back.
For a Saturday night there was no one in this restaurant 90% empty. They need to do some advertising or something as we felt uncomfortable being the few amount of customers in the restaurant.
The appetizer was very good, we had rice balls. I has pasta with claims which were swimming in olive oil. My friend had fish and chIps which were good. We had apple pie al a mode, which was pedestrian but the ice was very good.
Very nice place, delicious food, perfect for early dinner!
