The Common Stove
Fantastic as always great owners and absolutely the best staff I guess that's what make the owners so great they know how to pick their people properly
Excellent as always! Unlike any other dining experience you will have in the Orillia area.
The best steak we have ever had! Still dreaming of the brussel sprouts days later! So good! Highly recommend!
Our taste buds where truly tantalized , a most enjoyable dinner out , we will be back soon. The service was impeccable, thank you!!!
Exceptional prime rib roast dinner! Staff and the restaurant setting were perfect for a quiet dinner for 2 over Thanksgiving weekend.
Scrumptious food, pleasant atmosphere and awesome kitchen!
Always very good.
We spent a few days in Muskoka and drove down to Orillia for the Common Stove. Well worth the drive. It was delicious food. Simple yet sophisticated meals with amazing staff and a gorgeous kitchen to watch. The wine list was also great. Would definitely go back!
This restaurant did a great job. We went for an anniversary dinner and they sat us away from the crowd, served us great food, and topped it off with a splendid dessert and sparkler! We will definitely go back again
The food was amazing and so was the service! This will be our new ‘go to’ restaurant in the area! Highly recommend.
The ambience of the outdoor seating was very cozy and cute. The heaters made it nice and warm even though it was a chilly fall night.
It took some time for our server to come to us to greet us as they had forgot to tell her that we had arrived. Honest mistake but also a little annoying. We waited 15 min to be greeted.
Food was different but very well presented and the ribeye steak was to die for. My husband and I had the cheese cake to share for dessert and did not care for it as it was very dry. We had already order three pieces to take home to our children. We added chocolate sauce and whipped cream at home.
I would recommend Riesling of some sort by the glass on the menu.
The Butter Rum cocktail was amazing.
I would recommend with caution to a friend as a lot of our friends are on budgets as well and would not be able to afford such an expensive meal and not be 100% satisfied. We were lucky enough to be able to use a gift certificate that was a gift.
This was our 1st visit. Upon arrival and being seated our Waiter asked what we would like to drink! We asked for a moment to check the drink listing as we had just sat down. He said ok and left. He did not return for a full 15 minutes at which time he also took our food order. A second and third table came in and they were immmediatly taken care of in fact one couples order including drinks arrived long before ours they ate had desert and left before we even got our order. While the food was good the service from our waiter left a lot to be desired. He was more concerned with other tables than ours. Given the prices I would expect much better service and not have to wait for an hour and a quarter for our food. We receive much better service at our local Diners than we received at The Common Stove. I almost did not leave a tip but I did. It was our 53 rd Wedding Anniversary and we were expecting a much better experience. We were not impressed!
Awesome place, awesome food and wonderful staff!!
Limited menu. Spouse wanted brussel sprouts with filet changed Was told don’t do . For a 40 dollar entree unacceptable. Carrots In aioli were very hard They weren’t even close to al dente. T bone was 1/3 too fatty . Nice touch with sparkler on cake. I understand it’s fine dining but no alcohol and bill was nearly 140. Little pricy during Covid times. Thank you
We totally enjoyed the beef bread as an appetizer. The angolotti pasta was my entree choice. My partner had the beets and butternut. Both were delicious!
Some of the best service that I have received at any restaurant! Will be coming back to try more menu items.
Our favourite restaurant in Orillia, so glad we finally have somewhere for a nice dinner. Food is amazing!
Very good service
Our waitress explained the menu in great detail. Offered advice and recommended a perfect wine.
We dinned in the alleyway and it was very cozy and great atmosphere.
This may become our new “go to “ spot!!!
Definitely we be back!
Great service and steaks! Would definitely recommend.
Wonderful but really expensive. More a place for special occasions.
Best place in town for a great relaxing atmosphere and phenomenal food, drinks and service.
A must stop in the heart of cottage country! The Common Stove makes a lovely spot for your weekly night out or if you don't live nearby, taking the time to stop in Orillia for Lunch, Brunch or Dinner will be worth the detour!
I highly recommend the eggs Benny on the Brunch menu and the Common Caesar will kickstart your day too!
We have returned for a second time the food was outstanding, the service was fantastic.
We came here for my husband's birthday and wow. Everything from the impeccable service, thanks Angela, to the food was beyond reproach.
We had the charcuterie plate to share which was delightful. My husband had the 16oz steak which was cooked to perfection with chili brussel sprouts - they were seriously good he scraped the dish to get every last piece off. The trout I had was perfectly cooked and the right balance of flavours.
All food is locally sourced and tastes amazing.
Best pasta I’ve ever had!
Super great service.
Overall amazing experience... such a hidden gem :)
Food was served very quickly, drinks were delicious, staff are so friendly and professional. Beautifully decorated and awesome ambience.
Absolutely amazing!!! You may see us everyday now!
The food was great and loved your atmosphere, thank you!
Wonderful evening. Great food and love being in the ally way.
Very good food & service have been back multiple time! Love it.
Alley way dining was lovely. Prime rib was excellent. My husband said his fish was too salty but the taste was nice. I didn’t like that the only option for a glass of wine was a 5 oz and was quite expensive for that size. There was no other option other than buying a bottle so if you wanted more than one glass you were paying 20 plus dollars which seems a bit much for 10 oz.
Overall it was very nice and we’ll definitely try it another time.
This place is funky and has unique menu items. It is a great spot with a great vibe.
I have been to the Common Stove for lunch and brunch. Both times the food was very good. I had a heirloom tomato and burrata salad for lunch at $15. It was extremely tasty, but definitely not filling. My friend had the steak tartare which was also tasty, she let me try it. For brunch I had bacon-eggs Benny. It was good, but I feel I make better eggs benny at home to be honest. The ambience, atmosphere and service is excellent. My total bill for myself alone for brunch was $38 without tip, so a pretty pricey breakfast, but I had great company!
Best eggs benny and smoke cured bacon ever. Friendly staff, very clean, fresh coffee
Food is delicious with interesting flavours, the service is top-notch and the ambiance is very inviting and intimate while respecting social distancing - hard task to accomplish :)
Excellent food and place.
Four of us tried four different meals and all were excellent. The steak tartare is amazing.
Very impressed, awesome spot! We will definitely be back!
Loved our experience. Food was great but pasta had a bit too much tooth to it, but the lobster sauce and overall taste was fantastic. Will be back for sure. Thanks
Excellent food and service. I’d definitely return.
