The Counting House Restaurant & Pub
Great food and service! Nice atmosphere! Highly recommend!
Great food! Great service! We had a wonderful time as always.
We had another amazing dinner at the Counting House this evening. My husband and our friend had the lobsta special, which was amazing. Our other friend had the Halibut which was equally amazing. I had the Ocean City Day Scallops which were delicious. As always, Rhonda made sure that the entree that my husband ordered was gluten free, and safe for him to consume. We love the Counting House!!
I had the Ocean City Day Scallops with black rice and vegetables. There are no words to describe it, at least none that I know. The flavors, the texture, the presentation, the Taste! It was fantastic! We had the crab dip appetizer which was thoughtfully prepared by Chef Bill, to be gluten free. My husband had the Lamb loin chops over some amazing vegetables, the portion was so generous we took some home! He loved it, and has the Lamb whenever it is offered. Rhonda took great care of us, as always. She has a way of making people feel so welcome and comfortable.
Love the counting house, excellent food and service!
Delicious as always
Menu has some different choices
Not run of the mill
Another great meal at The Counting House tonight. I had the crab cake entree and my husband had the Halibut special. The service is attentive but not smothering. The food continues to amaze us. Very close attention is paid to my husband's meals as he has Celiac and the staff is aware of that every time we visit. We are grateful for the careful prep and attention to detail in the kitchen that allows us to dine worry free!
Dinner with friends. So glad that the Counting House is serving again. We love the atmosphere, and the food is beyond delicious! Rhonda made sure that my Celiac husband's dinner was safe for him to eat. She treats us like family. I had the fried Soft Shell crabs and he ordered the Soft Shells also, but the chef sauteed them instead of frying them. Our friends ordered the steak, and were equally pleased with their entrees. We highly recommend the Counting House.
Very nice and elegant atmosphere. The food was very good and perfectly prepared.
The waiter was thorougly professional, knowledgeable and attentive.
Would highly recommend
We had a wonderful meal tonight. My husband had the Lamb and I had the soft shell crabs. It was amazing. My husband loved the Lamb as well. He has Celiac, and gets very sick if there is any gluten whatsoever in his food. We have been to to Counting House at least a half a dozen times, and he has never had a problem! We highly recommend it!
A great dining experience with good food, great service and pleasant atmosphere.
So happy they are open again. Always good food and always friendly service. Love supporting them and they have become our favorite restaurant in the area.
It was delicious! We are gluten free and very thankful they have gf options available.
Wonderful Staff and food! Love this place so much.
We had another excellent meal at the Counting House. I had the Shrimp Scampi and my husband ordered the Bouillabaisse. We just love it there!
Ordinary in almost everyway. Most of the food seemed to lean toward the sweet side, lots of caramelized onions could have been the culprit. Everyone in my party agreed that although all the dishes were okay, nothing stood out as reason to return to this restaurant.
We had another wonderful meal experience at the Counting House tonight. I had the crab cakes over mashed with roasted broccoli and my husband had the Lamb, which was equally amazing. We shared the smoked fish dip for an appetizer, which was out of this world. Many thanks to our server Rhonda, who is always so diligent about making sure that my husband's entrees are indeed gluten free and safe for him to eat with his Celiac. Needless to say, we will look forward to returning!
We had yet another great dinner here tonight.
Delicious seafood specials Friday night and 1/2 price wine selections. Friendly, conscientious service. A little loud and too bright for a relaxing dinner, but the best in the area for a real dining experience.
There were 8 of us. The wine choices are good, food was wonderful and the amounts were great. I don’t always love crab cakes but they were terrific. Our server was wonderful.
I would recommend it for people that are looking for someplace to eat on a normal night, we went on Valentines Day. They had a special menu for Valentines day and a very limited alternative menu, if we had known that before hand we would not have went. The place was busy and the wait times for anything was longer then reasonable. The special included 2 glass of champagne and we ask to have them served with dessert, they forgot what we ordered for dessert and we never saw the champagne. Not a champagne fan so I did not care one way or the other about not getting it, but i like to get what i paid for. The tip was automatically included in the price (just two of us).
Loved the place and the food - service was top notch and everyone friendly and engaging - definitely a value and I like the history of the place too
Everytime we go to the Counting House we are disappointed. The Valentines' Day menu looked good so we thought we would try it. The salads were good and the oysters excellent, but after that it was down hill. All entrees were served on a pile of tasteless mash potatoes and overcooked broccoli. My husband got the worse crab cakes we have ever tasted. They had to be pre-made, frozen ones. They had no seasoning, white, stringy crab meat. I had lobster tails that were overdone and lacked any kind of seasoning. The dessert was suppose to be berry crumble and it was a little cake wit three berries on the side.
Our dinner was awesome. The crab cakes were all crab meat, the French onion soup was outstanding, and the lamb shank was new to us and very good. Shrimp and grits were also enjoyed at our table. We were celebrating friends anniversary. The counting house is a great place to celebrate any occasion. Check them out!
We had another great time at The Counting House tonight. It was Chicken Dinner night and three of us had the chicken dinner which included a salad, the main course selection ( a choice if six different chicken entrees), two sides and a begniet. My husband enjoyed the Venison entree. Once again, Rhonda, our server, was very knowledgeable about which entrees contained gluten, for my husband who has Celiac and took great care to make sure everything was perfect!
A menu that makes it easy to find something for even picky eaters! the staff are friendly and professional.
We will return and we will bring some friends.
Waitress was so nice and gave history in the building and explained the menu very well
I got this resveration for my parents 50th anniversary. The staff went above and beyond to make it special. They set a special table for them and had flowers for them. Everything was just amazing. Even though my dad didn’t feel the best and wasn’t able to go, my mom and I had an amazing time.
We came back because wed had a great experience there a few years ago. This time we brought friends from out of town. They out us in a room that we the most boring I've ever seen. It was like we were in a large cafeteria. On the reservation we were allowed to make a comment or ask for something special
I specifically asked for a nice room. Cearly it was ignored. We were embarrassed to have brought our friends.
We were seated immediately upon arriving. Our server was solicitous without being smothering. The food was excellent. My husband has celiac and we have eaten here twice now and he has had no issues at all.
Great food! Super friendly and helpful staff. Great service!
The food was excellent! The service was efficient, however, there were some inconsistencies. Not being wine aficionados, I indicated a $40 bottle on the menu. The server brought a bottle from the vineyard we ordered from, let us taste it and served the bottle. Only when the check arrive we had incorrectly received the $80 bottle! Additionally, we were neither told by staff, (hostess, multiple servers, a chef,) that a gratuity was being added to the check. Nor did any notice of the policy appear on the menu. We dined with two other couples and fortunately caught that the tip had been added. But the fact that we were not informed of their practice prior to receiving the bill seems a little shady.
Had a great experience. Our server was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable about the types of bourbon they offered. Food was amazing. Atmosphere was pleasant. Definitely will be a repeated guest.
Sesame salmon entree was excellent. Nice portion, tasty, well prepared. Excellent server, went out of her way.
Staying at the Brick, wasn’t just convenient - it was delicious
Very limited options for someone who does not eat red meat, pork, or fried food. Was expecting a fancier atmosphere given the prices of the meals, but it was very casual. Drinks were mediocre as well. Paid a lot of money for a meal that I did not enjoy.
Fun spot! Very friendly, accommodating staff and an interesting menu. There are plenty of standard choices along with some more unusual menu items like venison and bison. They use a variety of local sources and they offer several specials in addition to the regular menu. There's also a rooftop deck/bar with entertainment.
We enjoyed our well-prepared meal including oyster stew, Caesar salad, bacon wrapped bison meatloaf (especially good) and fish/chips. we sat in the pleasant bar area and we're well served by Ryan. This meal exceeded our expectations and can be recommended that's an excellent choice in Georgetown.
This was our first visit to The Counting House Restaurant & Pub (formerly The Brick Hotel & Restaurant).
We always enjoyed many fine dining experiences at The Brick Hotel & Restaurant, but didn't know what to expect upon this visit.
We were seated in the dining room with the fireplace greeted by a casually dressed server. The music was pub music rather than fine dining music.
The wine list is very limited, no Merlot or White Zinfandel.
Although dinner rolls or bread was not served prior to the meal, all entrees were exceptional. My college roommate had the Creole Jambalaya, my husband had the Bacon Wrapped Bison Meatloaf, and I had the Lobster Mac & Cheese. DELISH! DELISH! DELISH!
Having opened in August 2018, we assume the new owners are still experiencing "growing pains". We already look forward to returning.
