The Cove Seafood and Banquets
First impressions count. Unfortunately, it is also a lasting one. We made our reservations via Open Table, and were greeted at the door by a large bouncer, who announced we needed to pay a cover charge to see the band (which we didn't care to see). The poor kid who greeted us at the host station had no record of our reservation (still using paper & pencil). There were tables available even without a reservation, and we were seated right away. Unfortunately, we had to hear the band because it was wide open to the dance and band area. The wine we ordered was not available, so a substitute was offered. The food was good, but if you are thinking of dining there, try for a "no-band" night. The decor was Margaritaville-ish, so it's perfect for a luau or nautical themed party.
Service was very scattered. They had no idea who was seated where or whom was taking care of whom. There was a gentleman at the door trying to collect a band cover charge from everyone who entered even dining room patrons. If you didn't refuse and ask the host to assist he was very pushy for the cover charge. On the other hand the meal was great. The food was good and the portions were huge. If you can deal with shaky service and a bar atmosphere it's not a bad place, but it's far from fine dining.
