Last night before lockdown, so fair enough the menu had been cut down to suit whatever stocks they had left. We struggled to find anything we actually liked the look of to eat. After much deliberation we tried to order only to be advised two of the choices our party of four had made weren’t available which we could have been told when we were given the menu.Two of us ordered mushrooms on sourdough toast, they were supposed to be with cream and thyme, however all you could taste was fried onions and the toast was so hard you literally couldn’t cut it. Two burger orders were raw in the middle and full of gristle so we’re not eaten (removed from the bill). This was all in all a very disappointing meal, which was a bit sad for us as last night out before lockdown and sadly will mean we will not return to the Cricketers again ☹️

An easy evening with friends. Table service a little slow to start but much better as the evening progressed. Helpful friendly staff.

Really disappointed not sure how a Camembert which would cost less than £2 can then be charged at £16 even with 3 slices of sour dough cut in half that is over 800% increase which though very nice isn’t that nice. Also automatically added a £1 surcharge for their dong charity which again isn’t a problem if you are given the choice not to be made to feel a pariah if you take it off!! They also add service to the charitable donation I mean seriously sort this out !! Would not recommend and will not be back unless you review your pricing as you are a pub not Michelin stared restaurant !!!!

We’ve been to The Cricketers before and had no complaints but this time we were very disappointed. We both had the roast pork belly and it was the worst we’ve ever had - fatty, hard to cut what little meat was on it; and very salty. We complained to the staff who didn’t seem surprised and merely said they’d tell the chef. The vegetables were nice but sparse - two small roast potatoes and half a roast carrot. Not worth the £16 per course we paid for it. The dessert was heavenly and we’ve had a good meal in The Cricketers before so will probably go back but this was a disappointing meal.

I visited following a recommendation from my son. The service wasn’t great, food average, coffee cold - I won’t revisit.

Great atmosphere and service is fantastic under the current circumstances. Food is good but the beer, wine and spirits selection are fantastic. Definitely recommend.

Good service but food is not as good as a few months ago

Cricketers is one of my favourite places, love the ambience. I had some friends with me, was their first visit and they loved the place. Food was great! and service levels excellent.

Service let down all of the experience. Limitation from menu (not all dishes was available) and unwilling for founding reasonable substitute end up of us walking out hungry and disappointed

The sea bass was amazing, Service was very good and the team helped us have a really good night. This is one of my favourite places and would definitely recommend.

Food Ok , same quality as Harvester slightly more extensive range. Service friendly slowish (that was OK with us). Prices high 50% more than Harvester. Error on dish delivered corrected promptly with apology.

Excellent food, excellent service. Spent a long boozy lunch there with no pressure from staff to leave. Highly recommended

The service was very good. The lady who looked after us was excellent. Thank you.
Two people in our group had the pork belly roast. The fat was not fully rendered which made it over fatty.
I did not like the coating on the roast potatoes which was oniony and not necessary on a roast potato.
Two of us had roast beef which was rare. We were not asked how we would prefer it.
We will try a different place for our next Sunday roast.

Had a fantastic sunday roast with the family. Th Cricketers has put a lot of thought in to their social distancing and service and we were honestly blown away by the quality of the food. Delicious.

Food was great, service was a little slow. Two of us were not drinking so we had 2 soft drinks each with a splash of lime in. Having to pay £1.15 for a splash of lime 4 times rather took the edge off of the evening. Won’t be returning any time soon

I had the chicken and ham pie which had no chicken or ham in it ! The mash needed some seasonings especially black pepper. All 3 of us commented on how salty all our food was .

The Cricketers were maintaining half price meals through September, so we took advantage. Friendly service and choice of inside or outside. The skin-on fries turned out to be thin French fries, without skin, but they immediately swapped them for thicker chips when asked, doing their best. A very pleasant afternoon with good food.
