I love this place. Food is always outstanding. Staff is pleasant. Managment team is thoughtful and warm. One of my fave spots downtown.
The Dearborn Burger and their parm/garlic fries never disappoint! Their brussels sprouts are also delicious. We had a fabulous experience, as always.
Fabulous as always. They haven’t missed a beat post-Covid. I’ve dined here 5 times in the last month. Hardest working crew in town to make your dining experience spectacular.never disappoints.
Order was wrong. Requested more drink. Never came even after waitress acknowledged request. Lack of attention to table.
Amazing food and amazing service - all around great experience, one of the highlights of our chicago trip!
The Dearborn deserves my 5 star rating. This is based upon all three categories I feel are the most important things when out for a dining experience. Food, Service, and Atmosphere. Check, Check, Check. The Dearborn hit all three without any questions.
The staff was super friendly and fast. Our waitress was very accommodating to our party, and explained the menu and gave suggestions. I ordered the specialty ribs and brussel sprouts. They both we absolutely delicious. Paired with a local light Pilsner, I was a happy dad on Father's Day!
The atmosphere was super nice and very well taken care of. Kinda rustic inside with large doors that open out to the Chicago sidewalks.
I would absolutely recommend The Dearborn as a place to try if your in the downtown loop. Yes, it is kid friendly and they happily accommodated my two grade school aged kids.
It was the worst experience eating here today. It was my fathers treat to my husband and went here for the oysters and the rabbit poutine. The server said they were out of both..so ordered the burger- bland, fish and chips- nothing exceptional and chips were so salty, mushroom pizza was bland too. Moreover, when I asked for the menu again from the other server., she gave me a special fathers day menu which was not offered to me beforehand. I told our server and she just said “Okay”. Didnt even acknowledge her fault or said sorry for it. It was so devastating because I wanted to make this day special for my husband. Our day was really ruined. I wanted to talk to their manager but my husband said lets just leave. I am NEVER eating here again nor recommending this to anybody.
My family and I had Sunday brunch at this stop. It was okay. The kitchen had run out of pancake batter, leaving my husband to order the beignets. I did however, enjoy the shrimp and grits (although the portion was really small).
A little slow with a few requests but besides that we really enjoyed the food, service and ambiance.
The drinks were excellent however the food was just okay. Our table has a number of dishes and I don’t think anyone was blown away by any of them. However, we all loved the mixed drinks and ordered lots of them.
Customer Service was excellent. The over experience was great food tasted good
We really had high hopes for The Dearborn based on prior reviews, unfortunately, it was just okay and over-priced with efficient, but uninterested, distant service. My wife's fish & chips were great. My steak burger however, was a disaster: with a soggy bun that all fell apart upon the first bite. Not what you expect for a $22 hamburger. Unfortunately, our server never came back around until we were finished. Otherwise, I would have sent it back. The ambiance is nice in this restaurant, but the food quality doesn't quite reach the level you would expect for the price and setting. We had a nice time, but were overall disappointed in the restaurant.
The drinks and food were amazing! The service was also very professional and welcoming. Plates were out fast. I highly recomend it.
The Dearborn's 5-Year Anniversary was celebrated with several special items that aren't usually on the menu.
Heritage Tomato Bisque is amazing.
Market Salad is a menu constant & always great.
BBQ Ribs were the best I've had in the city--fall-off-the-bone tender, not sticky sweet & with just a bit of heat--I wish they'd become a menu regular.
Coleslaw served with the ribs was a nontraditional bit of crunchy tastiness.
All in all, a great, satisfying meal by a gem-in-the-neighborhood restaurant.
Always was curious to check out this place, because it looks so stylish and cosy when you are walking by. So I made a reservation and invited two of my friends .
Long story short- the Caesar salad with salmon came with a piece of black hair on it, they quickly replaced it and the manager apologized , which we didn’t make a huge deal out of it. Then teaspoons with the tea arrived filthy:( they had old food stuck to them . They should soak their dishes and silverware better I guess before running the dishwasher.my burger was dry and not tasty at all.
The food wasn’t memorable enough for me to want to every go back. The service was good, our server was polite and inviting.
Overall experience was underwhelming. There are a lot of other better places in the city, so I won’t be going back to the Dearborn or recommending it to any of my friends.
The restaurant itself is beautiful though.
Meal was very good. We were there at noon on a Saturday and thought we were going to be ordering off the lunch menu but they had a brunch menu that is not as interesting at least for us. Our fault for not checking closer
I booked Father's Day brunch there because they were supposed to have live music that day, and they did not. I had asked the person I spoke with on the phone to confirm, which she did, and when we arrived they said they weren't having it for a few more weeks. We were bummed, but were seated by a nice person at a comfortable booth by the window. Server showed up promptly and was appropriately attentive and professional.
Monkey bread was good, but could have been more buttery. My daughter and I split an omelet that said it had brie in it, but I only got one taste of brie and she got zero in her half. The Brunch tavern pizza was amazing, and chicken tinga toastadas and the chorizo & poblano hash got good reviews. Good place to go if you're downtown, but I wouldn't go downtown just to eat there.
This place is the real deal!! Amazing food, amazing environment and amazing service !!
The server was extremely nice, and everyone was super attentive! 10/10 recommend
Service was a little slow, but it was in the middle of dinner service. The food and drinks were excellent. I had the ribs from the specials and my girlfriend had the chicken breast, and they were both cooked to perfection. My old-fashioned was also very well prepared, and paired with the ribs nicely.
Perfect for a date night or special occasion. Be prepared to spend over $100 dollars for two people, but believe me when I say it is well worth it.
Oysters with recommended champagne had me feeling fancy and really complimented each other. We got the fish and chips and mushroom pizza. Both of which were devoured. Beautiful restaurant and wonderful experience!
Music too loud for business lunch; Service was too slow. Food was excellent
Always just great. A must stop.
Our group of six all loved it! We all ordered different items and everyone was pleased. We also loved the interior design.
It was just average. Two of us had the buffalo chicken sandwich, one the pulled pork special, one grilled cheese and one fish and chips. nothing to write home about and I would not return. They also sat us next to the kitchen entrance which did not provide much ambiance.
The wait staff were superb! Our waiter even picked out his favorite dessert for my and my wife's anniversary. It was the peanut butter chocolate pie with smoked vanilla ice cream....incredible!
The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere clean and comfortable. All in all it was a great dining experience. I will definitely come back when I'm next in town.
Had a delicious old fashioned to start. My party had the “everything rolls,” ceviche, “meze” plate, and a mushroom pizza. Great, fresh food executed so well that satisfied everyone. Wonderful friendly vibe as well. If this place were in my neighborhood I’d be there at least twice a week. Love this place!
Excellent food, friendly staff and service
Enjoyed a calm Sunday brunch with live music. We enjoyed beignets as a starter and they matched the traditional New Orleans pastry with gusto. Bacon for both of the diners present was cooked to individual liking and was flavorful. Fried chicken and a veggie quiche served were both excellent and portion sizes were great! Lovely location, amazing service, and fantastic atmosphere.
Great location and ambience. Service was excellent and food:
Breads (beignets, monkey bread and Rolls): Excellent
Fish and Chips - Great texture but way under seasoned.
Brussel Sprouts - Burnt taste, under seasoned and not tender
Mashed Potatoes - Excellent
Lyonnaise Potatoes - Under seasoned
Baker's bacon - Awful! Flaccid and left a pool of black grease on the plate
Really disappointing in the food seasoning and preparation, except the bread. Way too expensive to travel downtown and pay for parking for.
This was the first Sunday since the pandemic that Jazz was on the menu. Quite festive. Food and service was exceptional. The menu very eclectic.
The food was really good. The service was awesome. Our server went above and beyond for us, was very knowledgeable of the dishes, was professional and fun. I would recommend this place to anyone to grab a bite.
We were seat at 8:36 and didn’t receive any assistance until 8:55.. When I say no assistance I mean no human contact, they just kept walking by our table until I finally went to the front desk and asked if there was a problem. We did get to speak with the manager “Montrell” who seemed to be a smart a$$ more than anything but from that point on we had service. Service was still poorly after that like the little things…. Don’t drop off appetizers and forget we need eating utensils.. (fork, spoon, knife) it was that kind of night..
Cocktails amazing, wait staff double amazing and general manager was very personable. Food was okay. Would like to see some more grilled/sautéed options such as shrimp or catfish.
Excellent very delicious dinner. Our waiter was outstanding! So very nice. Beautiful restaurant! Relaxing and enjoyable! We live in the area and will definitely return!
Great night out. So fun to finally be back at the Dearborn. Our cocktails and food were fantastic. I love their manhattans and the fried chicken is my favorite! They were so accommodating to our kids too. Both kids declared their Shirley Temples were the best they had ever had and thought their burgers were just as good as the ones they had at Small Cheval a few weeks ago. But the Dearborn fries were even better. I love the dining space and we were particularly pleased with our round booth! It made for great conversation. All around it was a fantastic dining experience.
Servers not masked and not very attentive (didn’t check after food came out, water not refilled, etc.) Outdoor seating uncomfortable.
