The Dorset Street Bar

Unfortunately the burger my husband was looking forward too was disappointing. The outside of the beef was charred but the middle was pink. The sauce was a tangy zest that over powered what was labeled and supposed to be an simple cheese burger. His fries were undercooked.

My broccoli satay was overly drench in the thick satay sauce. And The charred cabbage l was more like boiled cabbage. Sadly it was a very disappointing dinner.

Excellent service, excellent food, excellent atmosphere

I had the vegan burger it was very great, my old man had the steak and Guinness pie which he really seemed to enjoy too. Great service I would definitely recommend.

Great food, fantastic wine. Great to see a venue doing everything they can to provide a good experience even with all the Covid 19 restrictions in place.

I love the Dorset and even during these tough times it doesn’t disappoint. The quality of the food and the standard of service are still excellent. There was even a nice buzzy atmosphere! (although everyone was very mindful of the rules). Really nice evening.

Definitely worth a visit. Tadt roast dinners and a cosy, friendly atmosphere. Felt covid safe too.

Great quality of food, however roast portions were very small.

One of my favourite pubs in Brighton, friendly staff and even with all the COVID restrictions in place the atmosphere is still good.

We really enjoyed the food and wine, the service however was appalling. It took ages to serve us we sat with our empty plates for half an hour.
We went to order more drinks and was basically told to leave and we would not be served anymore drinks because we were too noisy. There were 5 of us in the party, and possibly we were very noisy for other members of the public, but we were never asked to be quieter, we were just basically told to pay up and leave......

Our food took an hour to come and our drinks took a long time to come as well.

It was perfect. Food and service were amazing and I’d recommend the Dorset wholeheartedly.

We had a well distanced table in the corner which felt very comfortable. Highly recommend risotto.

Good food and great gin selection! Also nice selection of vegan options too!

The best vegan roast dinner i’ve ever had!! the staff were amazing too. we were allowed to sit in the bar area with our dogs, and there was enough room for us all to eat comfortably ☺️

Possibly the best butter fried chicken I've had. Considering the situation with Covid they did a great job of making the dinning experience enjoyable and safe.

Could do with a few more options of wine by the glass and to include LAINE beer in the beer options.

We (6 Chaps) went for a birthday Sunday roast.
Well organised for covid biz, great menu selection, well cooked and served. Good ale.

My party of 6 all had the most delicious roast beef Sunday lunch with a side of cauliflower cheese. Everything was cooked to perfection, melt in your mouth beef, perfectly cooked vegetables with roast potatoes that were out of this world! The cauliflower cheese was delicious. All the food was displayed well & extremely tasty. Worth the cost of the meals. Service was great as always. We sat inside where there was plenty ventilation & markings in the floor of the one way route. Plastic screens were placed around the room to separate tables - these were a little imposing on space so perhaps the removal of a table or two would give more space but this would of course provide less capacity. I have already highly recommended Sunday lunch to friends & colleagues - this was just what my party needed thank you.

Decent student/young adult pub... restaurant leaves much to be desired. One main frozen solid- response from wait staff was an eye roll - other main fine. The beer was cold which was about the only plus. Opentable characterised this as a “seafood” restaurant which was definitely not the case.

Best pub fish and chips I have ever had. Also fantastic beers. Good value considering the quality and service

Friendly staffs & nice foods but short choice I saw Sunday menu look nicer than the week menu!

Brilliant pub with a good atmosphere, coping very well with social distancing measures.
All the staff were happy and table service was quick and efficient.

Table was sticky which was bit off putting. Waitress was pleasant and got starter quite quick. Thought Prosecco pretty over priced for pub!! Used to paying at least £5 less a bottle in restaurants and it wasn’t a nice Prosecco. Main course had steak, boyfriends was ok but mine was nearly all gristle!! Chips were very over done and hard but boyfriend ate mine anyway! Did point out to the waitress about the steak and asked her to show the chef as could see what a bad cut it was, however never got any response from chef at all!! Drinks expensive- same round £5.20 cheaper in the pub a few hundred yards up road toward Brighton!

The food was sublime! The staff could be a little more cheerful. If you charge a 10% fee put it on your menu! Tables were never cleaned after people left, screens were places but not between all tables. We were very close to our neighbouring table

The Dorset Bar was fantastic, we had catch of the day (seabream) and the seafood linguini and it was sublime. We paired it with a bottle of white wine that the waitress recommended. Extremely good quality food and really really tasty. 100% would recommend and return!

Service was unbelievably slow with no recognition of this from the manager on duty. Calamari was chewy - chicken burger overcooked and dry - fish cake was more like a potato cake. Even when we requested to have the service charge removed from the bill we weren’t asked why.

Never had a bad meal here. Food is consistently very good and the staff are always an absolute delight!

They didn't have the food I wanted and sold up chips which we didn't really need. Wasnt very good food at all and very overpriced for what I had.

Food was delicious. Had a lovely table sitting by the open window. Really enjoyed meal.
