The food was really good and the value was good too. We had fast and friendly service and it was a decent size portion as well.
Good value for money. Maybe came at a quiet midweek night dinner, felt dated. Went with 3-course special and no regrets. Dessert could be way better though.
We loved our waiter Prince and the GM Suzanna. Both were amazing. Definitely will be back for the service!!
The food was great, our server needs some lesson on how to look after customers, she was very forgetful and seemed to be lost most of the time. defiantly needed more training. The hotel is top notch and the front desk was very courteous and top notch and couldn't do enough to please the customers.
Amazing food and service!
Server was outstanding. Best truffle fries and onion rings I have ever had!!
Food and service was great.
we loved the food but didnt like that we had to wait over an hour to get it.
we could hear the waiter and cook talking about the printer not working right and that the cook didnt get our order yet. the waiter never came to tell us this and that was really disappointing. we understand things like this happen but at least let your customers know what is going on. we also didnt get asked for 2nd round of drinks.
the food was good/great except for one Hawaiian pizza.
over all its a good place to eat but dont expect to much from the waiter.
Great service and delicious food. First time there and hopefully not my last.
Unfortunately our experience on Feb.14 was not a positive one. It started rocky when after being seated we were not greeted by anyone to take a drink order or to say hello for 45 minutes. We did flag down a bus boy to bring us water and our waiter briefly stopped by to say he would be right back to take a drink order. He never returned, so we flagged down the hostess as we had now been sitting and waiting for an hour. 2 other tables up and walked out. Suzanne the hostess was very friendly and offered to take our order. However we never were offered a drink and with it being Valentine’s Day, we would have purchased a bottle of wine at the very least. It did not get better from here. We were are family of 4 and 2 steaks were sent back absolutely cold and our sons hamburger was a dangerously raw and bloody throughout. Eventually we did get all meals back to us, and the food was actually very good once prepared properly however we all ended up eating separately and almost 2 hours after we sat. Our waiter finally showed up to make the comment, “wow, you guys were really hungry!” We received absolutely no apology and no Thank you for dining. I suppose we should not have been surprised that we also were not offered dessert or coffee. We have never had such terrible service. Although it would not have fixed the entire situation, an apology and/or removal of the raw hamburger off our Bill most likely would have gone a long way, as we do understand most restaurants have off nights. We absolutely do not recommend this restaurant and will not return.
$200 for a forgotten desert, hair in our food then hostess kept circling us. Felt rushed.
Overall after the hair we got a “it happens from server” ... LOL then he forgot our desert that was apart of our 3 course. Food was great, sadly our Valentines dinner wasn’t ideal. Potential for sure cause the food was awesome. Upset for sure
Good food and good service...
Elk short ribs is delicious!
I had made reservations way in advance and prompted the restaurant that it was our 31st anniversary dinner. We arrived and it seemed that they didn't have a table for us. They sat us at a table set for 4 - however, there were tables of 2 available in the restaurant. This table was not situated in the best of spots. We asked to be moved to an empty table for 2 and were told that there was an issue with 'logistics' and would not be able to. We were however, moved. Our service was ok, however, we noticed another couple who arrived later than us, sitted at a nicer table for 2, and were even asked if that table was ok. Their food/drink service was quicker than ours, our server seemed busier and thus slower.
Food was really good, we had their preset menu. pretty good for the price. Drinks were expensive.
There was really no acknowledgement of our special night, so a bit disappointed.
They were severely understaffed for a Saturday night in Banff. Maybe they had people call in sick? Not sure.
That being said, we had a 730 reservation and were sat, had drinks dropped off, and had orderedwithin 10 minutes of being seated. It became pretty clear that they were crashing hard.
The last interaction we had with our server was when we ordered food at around 740. Our first round of drinks were empty and were never refilled. Our table was on the servers path to the bar and she would literally not make eye contact with us. I understand a crash, but to not let your guests know that food was taking hours, and then to not even refill drinks is insane.
The manager seemed to not be helping at all. She would run one plate of food at a time and didn't even bother picking up tables to help the servers out. The chefs communication was breaking down, clearly in the weeds.
The restaurant does not know how to crash with grace.
At 850, our first round of drinks still empty, with no manager having stopped by, we asked for our bill and left.
It was too quiet. Needed some music.
Food was alright. Nothing particularly special. Excellent service!
This place needs a lot of work we waited and waited to be served on and the main course was not good the appetizers were ok but service was terrible even trying to pay are bill took almost 25 minutes.
Short ribs prepared beautifully. Potato puree was flavorful. Very good service.
Burger was dry and over cooked, server was very friendly
We were staying at a nearby hotel and decided to give this restaurant a try, especially since the weather was inclement which made walking a greater distance to another restaurant unattractive. It was a good choice. The food was good, the ambience comfortable, and the service proficient and friendly.
Great service and great food. Just reopened after covid
We arrived for dinner and were greeted by the "supervisor", after a few minutes we were seated. That's where it all went downhill.
Only 2 servers were helping customers, the "supervisor" disappeared and we did not see him until we asked who was in charge. There was no communication at all with the wait staff and the kitchen, 4 chefs working in the open kitchen.
Granted there was a large party, but as soon as they had their meals we should have gotten ours. In the hour and a half we were there, our waiter passed by 3 times, and we only had soup and salad from the Valentines fixed menu.
Other tables around us had the same issue of not receiving food in a timely manner. Someone ordered fondue and the flame was out before their food arrived, another couple got the wrong meal.
If you order from the fixed menu the expectation is that food would be ready and quickly to the table. We had to go to the front desk of the hotel to ask for help. Once the "supervisor" was found he went to the kitchen for 5 mins to find out what was going on with our meal when he returned instead of coming to see us he went to another table to take their order.
At that point we had had enough and walked out. The front desk took my phone number and name asked if I was a hotel guest. I have not received a call, obviously our business does not matter. Nothing else was offered like a drink or more bread rolls.
Extremely disappointing service.
Nice quiet ambiance. My husband and I had the Elk Special which was quite good. The service was attentive and friendly.
I know it was NYE and busy day, but searve was little first for us.
We ate here for dinner for Christmas but didn’t realize they had a special menu. Still good though
-disorganized, uncoordinated; no sign of management oversight
-extremely limited menu for RM Gold Leaf meal plan
-mistakes in serving (wrong salad, missing ingredients)
-steak over done; ordered medium rare, was served medium well
-staff conflicts (screaming "chef") easily overheard in dining area
-poor ventilation from food prep area, with smells of cooking fish in dining area
Quiet setting, fast service, good food. Caesar salad is terrific.
It a nice restaurant in the Delta Marriot Hotel in Banff. It is a fair priced establishment and the food is good.
Lovely menu with interesting variety. Waiter was excellent and very accommodating.
The bartender (Gigi) turned a bad experience into a positive experience. OpenTable allowed me to make a late (10:30 pm) reservation, however the restaurant actually closes at 10:00 pm. They allowed us to have a limited choice from the bar menu in the bar lounge. The bartender was very helpful and understanding.
The food was delicious. The staff and service were amazing.
Very nice restaurant. We ate dinner there and liked it so well that we came back for breakfast the next day.
Located in the Delta Marriott Canadian Royal Lodge on the east end of the town of Banff, this is the nicest restaurant at this end of town.
Breakfast: Standard breakfast menu, any kind of egg wih any kind of side. And I must say the potatoes are deelish! Excellent friendly service. Sometimes there’s a buffet, sometimes there’s not. The portions are on the larger side and the fruit on the plate was not just melon! The open kitchen in the back is visible to all diners so that is a refreshing change from other restaurants. You can tell the serving team here has a great vibe going!
Dinner: I always assume a packed restaurant is a good one and I wasn't wrong at Evergreen! The live music from the hotel bar was piped into this restaurant the night we were there and the guitar player was very good. He played songs we all know. The lights are dimmed for supper, the tables now covered with black linen and the menu has a good variety. I am guessing they specialize in steak because there were a few on the menu. And the one we ordered was perfectly cooked and quite tender. The portions are a reasonable size, the food quality is quite high and everything my party of 4 ordered was VERY tasty! Of course, I wanted to switch something on my entree and it was easily accommodated. Nice! Our server was very friendly, not in a hurry and quite knowledgable. We cancelled our other reservation and came here the next night too because there was more we wanted to try on the menu, and again, everything had great flavours! Can't say enough - will always eat here when I visit Banff!!
We had a great experience at The Evergreen. The food and service were impeccable. Our only qualm was that the restaurant was extremely dark. It went right past ambient too far into very dark. It felt like they had forgotten to turn up a few of the dimmers. That being said we still had a great time and as mentioned enjoyed our food A LOT. Very well seasoned and extremely impressed with it.
Very friendly staff
This place was fantastic. We went in on a Monday night and were early due to taking our young daughter with us. We were the only table so I was a bit nervous I'd give kitchen being ready to roll, but they did not disappoint. I had the chef's 3 course menu that nice which was great. My wife had the cod and clams dish which she said was the best she's ever had, very flavorful sauce and seasoning on the fish. We also had the grilled calamari, which was a real treat.
Our waiter Charles was fantastic and provided good conversation as well.
We had the table de hote elk short rib dinner and it was fantastic.
I think there was a group dinner in another location so service was slow. My server initially was rushed but much more attentive as evening progressed. I eat frequently in Banff but this was my first visit to this place and I actually went there as they had lamb on their web menu but was told menu was changed and no lamb offered!! Very limited wine by glass menu with only two choices of red. I had the Malbec. Acceptable taste. Surprised nicely at portion size of the pate and tasty. The elk was cooked medium and delicious. They need to be more creative with their sides though.
Desert menu for me was uninspiring
Will I go back. Maybe but with so many other choices of eating places in Banff ....
My server eventually was very professional
Excellent dining experience. Everyone at the table was completely satisfied. The kids split sesame chicken and rice and both said how delicious the meal was. My wife and I split the spicy hot pot and this has become our meal of choice. I highly recommend this restaurant
We went for Christmas dinner and it was wonderful! The food was delicious! We had a reservation and were seated before the time of our reservation. The food was delicious! It was a set menu full of incredible choices! Dessert was delivered to our table before our main had arrived, and the settings were not complete, but the staff were quick to rectify any concerns. Overall, it was a wonderful meal and a great way to spend Christmas! I would highly recommend The Evergreen Restaurant
Visiting Banff overnight. Very nice dinner. Very attentive waiters.
We found this restaurant recommended in a tour guide as well as Open Table. Because the full service area was not open until 5, we were seated in the bar area, and very surprised at the great menu, and very good service. Food was excellent!
