The Fish Market - Del Mar
Good selection of fresh fish and seafood. Fish tacos good, Cajun shrimps great
They changed the sourdough bread to something else and it was awful
We really enjoyed our meal and the service. Will return after after racing season.
Most excellent...you must try the Chilean King Crab (centolla) cocktail!
We loved the Fish Market in Del Mar. Food was very good. Service was very good too.
The service was awesome. Everyone is very friendly and helpful! I enjoyed the seafood and the service!
As always great food at a reasonable price. Choices of fish change every week so never the same old thing. We go there at least every 3-4 weeks and have always enjoyed ourselves. I highly recommend the restaurant. This week we enjoyed the wine specials from Coppola Vineyards to compliment our meal.
Our table was ready, the server was friendly, and the food was excellent. All the fish is fresh, some flown in from the East Coast, and prepared perfectly. The restaurant has an authentic fish house feel, a casual atmosphere. We came on the 4th of July, so after dinner, we all stood on the restaurant patio and watched the fireworks at the Del Mar Fair. I don't remember having better swordfish. The pricing is fair, but this is not a discount restaurant. Excellent value received.
Great fish, great memories. My husband and I used to come here for a treat when we were students; now every time we visit we try to get to the Fish Market. They keep it simple—fresh fish, cooked so that you can taste how fresh it is. And the best sourdough bread, too! Love this place. Super casual—the ‘date’ designation is nostalgia talking :). Great for family dining, groups....
We have been coming for 35 years. Never changes.
The best "fish menu" ever... always a great food experience with oysters galore and ono and wahoo
done to perfection. Great margaritas too!
Friendly staff. Good, homemade food. Would go there again.
Always great for lunch get togethers with friends and family. Have been dining there since 1985. Love the ambiance, and reasonable prices (although not as reasonable as they used to be).
everything thing was great, food service, management.
Good cocktails and easy parking make this place good. Fish property cooked, sides are just OK. Key lime pie was rich and gooey. Reasonable spot for regular dining out.
Great variety of seafood that is exceptionally fresh.
Everything was great!
Great old school cook’in!!!
Fabulous as always. We dine here often because it never disappoints. There are even some new, delicious menu items. We ate at a table in the bar and the waitress could not have been better!
Since the fair is going on, it was pretty empty in the restaurant! they say this time is when they aren't busy. osters were so good!!!!! service was great, food was super good.
The food was fresh and very tasty. Good selection and priced well. Our server was very attentive and gave great suggestions. Will definitely return!
Outstanding sashimi and poke
Best swordfish on the planet
Great lunch choices. Had the grilled prawn Caesar salad, fresh and flavorful. The bread came fresh with churned butter. The oyster appetizer with champagne mignonette was to die for!
Very dependable and tasty seafood served by friendly staff.
The best thing about our dinner was the bread. The rest was mediocre.
Great all around. Only wish was that they had more fish options for kids (our little guy wanted salmon so we bought a $27 “kids” meal)
Food and service always excellent
Everything was wonderful. Enjoy this location so much more than downtown where it is always crowded and very loud.
We have always enjoyed the Fish Market, but not this time. Food was subpar for the price. The salmon was overcooked, and the rosemary potatoes were lukewarm. The other dishes we had (halibut, artichoke dip) were better but expensive for the portion size.
Our food was delicious and our server Jack was great!
Lots of fish choices. Able to accommodate food allergies. Service is good, they provided everything we requested, and
quickly. One dish was excellent, the other not. I had a beautiful chunk of sushi grade ahi lightly cooked. Was like butter. Lovely fresh fish market too. Caution the Pacific Black Cod. Needs to be well done or skip it. Many other choices.
This is our "go to" restaurant for delicious, healthy food. Food and service is always consistent!! Our Server Jeff was excellent. In addition, we have known Manager Adolfo who is always there and takes the time to speak with us!! He is part of the culture of the Fish Market. On the way out, purchased fresh fish for dinner the next day. Due to fair traffic, unfortunately won't be back until fair closes.
Messed up on the dinner date, but seated promptly. Food and service fine, but noise an issue. Lee Fisher
My wife and I are most likely a bit biased but this place is a favorite. We love the wood, overhead fans, fish counter, freshness of the food, and overall ambiance. It is a downshift place for us and we are here often. It reminds of so many places on the New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland shores. Hard to find in California where the beach scene is completely different.
The food was good. Fish very fresh. Sides were ok as was the shrimp cocktail. Not a bad place to go if you are nearby and want fish. It was the service that ruined it for us. We had Melissa. And while she was polite she would just disappear. Never came back to check on us. Everything took so long that we didn’t dare stay for dessert It was not at all busy so that was not an excuse.
This is the venue I choose every year to host a special dinner for my nine Fair employees. It's close to the Fairgrounds, has wonderful food, excellent service and menu options that allow the vegetarians, heart healthy dieters, and low carb folks to all order something they love. The Fish Market has always been a bit clattery inside -- the acoustic design could be improved, but with a Thursday 4 pm reservation, there were not yet enough customers present to create more than a moderate amount of noise. Our server was very friendly and attentive, and no one tried to rush us out the door. For appetizers, we enjoyed the oyster on the half shell combo and the oysters Rockefeller; the cheesy crab bread was interesting but probably wouldn't be ordered again. The Old Bay seafood, swordfish skewers, Panko shrimp were wonderful. And the kitchen did the quick sear ordered for the Ahi tuna to perfection. We stuck with ice tea and sparkling water for the most part, but it was great to have Sculpin on tap.
I really love the sourdough bread. The cioppino
Is very good there also the seafood cocktails and soup. I will try a fish next time.
We were very pleased once again. The waitress gathered that we were in a hurry, and she accommodated with no compromise to the level of service. Everything we ordered was spot on delicious (again). Hard to find a better value.
It's all about fresh fish, cooked simply and perfectly. Over many years, the Fish Market has consistently provided an excellent product.
Great service, food and dining experience this evening. Great job Fish Market.
