First time eating here, won't be the last. Food was perfect, staff were lovely and attentive, and considering the restrictions they were under (the night before we moved up a tier), it was a relaxed, happy atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Very nice service, felt safe at all times. Both the starter and main were amazing, good prices too.

The food was somewhat cold and roast potatoes were reheated. The coke cola had do much ice there was no taste. The main course was missing some ingredients, namely pigs in blankets

Great food, Christmas pie is fantastic, great service, warm and friendly. Will definitely be going back

Great food in a relaxed atmosphere. Had a lovely couple next to us who were chatty which was nice as the staff weren’t overly friendly, but that always depends on what you are looking for in a dining experience.

Great food and welcoming staff. Regular cleaning of tables and services between customers. Staff wore masks and encouraged the use of the NHS track and trace app plus hand gel

My wife and I visited twice, once for a drink and the other for Sunday roast. On both occasions the service was very friendly and efficient. The Sunday roast was exceptional. The decor is very nice and the staff are very polite and knowledgeable. If we come back to Portsmouth this will be our choice for a drink and a meal

Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was excellent. Covid-19 restrictions well documented and clearly signposted and staff also mentioned the one way system and the non intermingling between tables policy clearly. I would certainly go back and eat there.

First into the pub when it opened. Vegetarian roast dinner was excellent: juicy nut roast, vegetables al dente and tasty, roast potatoes fluffy inside and crispy outside. Service was great as was covid h&s practice.

Excellent food. We were well looked after all evening. Good selection of beers and wines all served by friendly, welcoming staff. Highly recommend to all.

This was our first visit to The Florence Arms and we enjoyed our meal very much. The staff were both friendly & efficient and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Obviously there have been changes due to the restrictions post lockdown & the restaurant is set out with a one way system and tables are set apart from one another & the staff all wear masks. It is table service for both drinks & food and every effort has been made to keep everyone safe & comfortable. Will be going again

Good ambient, good food, good service. It's a bit overpriced for what it offers, but it's a good experience, nevertheless.

We enjoyed a nice meal for my sister's birthday.
The meal was good and the service excellent.
The social distancing was observed in all parts of the pub.

Moderate at best. We appreciate it was a busy night with limited staff members but I wasn’t impressed. The reviews stood out to us and decided to give it a try. Overpriced for what it is, my food was quite clearly microwaved as there was cold spots in my mashed potato. Drinks were so expensive. Two people were almost having sex on the table next to us and really put us off our dinner by them slurping and quite honestly snogging each other. No one advised them that this isn’t the right behaviour for a restaurant but anyway. Service was okay and people were polite but I wouldn’t call it gastro or 4/5 star either.

Lovely pub, the staff worked really hard to put all necessary measures in place to keep people distanced.
They were friendly and the service was great. Food was good - I had a burger which was very good. My partner had the sirloin steak and said it was good.
We would definitely go back.
We do t have a dog but others bought their dogs with them which was ok as the tables are well spaced.

Genuine Chicken Caesar salad... very good... lovely thick piece of salmon well cooked with great asparagus, crushed new potatoes and pea puree (very tasty).. soup was potato and leek,,, very good too... worth a visit for sure

Staff were very friendly and helpful and we could not fault them. I felt the food was a little overpriced for what it was (food was nice) and they drinks were overpriced.due to COVID restrictions the restaurant layout was different to what it would be normally, however I felt it was far to bright inside, the fans (Understandable with the hot weather, however maybe invest in air conditioning?) were very loud and it was very unromantic with it being our wedding anniversary. All in all we would like to go again when COVID restrictions are lifted as I feel it would be a lovely restaurant normally.
