The Flying Egg
My coworker and I love going to breakfast here on a Saturday morning. Great food!
Wonderful Food, Service, and Ambiance. Loved being able to sit in the window and watch the streets of Bethlehem. Perfect spot for a ladies brunch.
Was a little loud but I love The Flying Egg so was still worth it!
All three of our meals were cold
Second visit was as nice as the first. Good food, no long wait, could hear each other talk without shouting. Good times.
The Flying Egg was wonderful as usual. I was so disappointed that the Dutch Baby is off the menu. :( Maybe they could offer this wonderful dish once in a while as a special?
Overall, pretty good experience. My only real complaint is with the service. Nice enough girl. Greets us quickly, takes our drink order and then returns for our meal order. Now we’ve had the menus about 7-10 minutes at this point. She then proceeds to list the 15 things they are out of! One would think as soon as you got to the table you would announce this and not after we’ve sat with the menus and decided what we would have to eat! Food was good we had the shorty (short rib Benedict) and apple ricotta toast. We also had a side of the French toast- which was nothing special, we wanted the banana FT but they were out of bananas...
We left the restaurant before ordering. The server was SO rude. We waited almost 15 minutes before he even came over to greet us or offer is water. When he did he was exceptionally rude, so much so that we literally got up and walked out without eating. The restaurant was clearly understaffed and the server let out his frustration on us! We did nothing except show up for a family meal. Will NEVER go back to what used to be a favorite!
Very good food for brunch, with nice specials, but service was quite slow. Probably won’t come back due to this but can still recommend to give it a try.
Definitely make a reservation. Even those of us with reservations had to wait 15-25 minutes before being seated due to the kitchen being back up.
Waitress was great but it took over an hour to get our food once we ordered and then it was cold. The first time we went, things were better. It was crowded so I don't think they were able to deal with the crowds. Plus, if you are a vegan or vegetarian, the options are very limited. They don't even have the vegan standby- tofu scramble.
We have eaten at The Flying Egg numerous times which we always enjoyed . Recent visit not up to normal standards . The waiter was hard to understand , waiter returned several times to inform the kitchen was out of items ( one component was for a drink special ) and while we were trying to exit (10am ) the front door was held up for a delivery . Just seemed really odd to have a hand truck and food being carted thru the main dining room while it was completely packed with patrons .
Slow service, had to ask for silverware and coffee refills, and our food was burnt and cold.... The worst part about it was that the owner/manager would not comp us for the meal, but allowed the waitress to offer us a round of drinks... however, neither drink had alcohol (bloody mary and tequila sunrise). This was a slap in the face. Never going back.
Our favorite place for brunch in downtown Bethlehem. Never disappoints.
The coffee was amazing, as was the food. Caramelized banana fresh toast was incredible. Will definitely be back!
Was my 5th time there, and I keep recommending The Flying Egg to my friends!.......Maybe I should keep it to myself?
As always, the food and service were outstanding. We had breakfast during Restaurant Week, and had food from that special menu. Yum!
Celebrating two birthdays. Made reservations based on other reviews I read. Glad I did. The place was hopping - understandably so, this place is a gem. Food was really yummy. Will definitely be back!
We have been here 2x and made reservations but still got terrible seating. Today we went expecting to utilize Restaurant week menu but the breakfast menu ended at 11 and the lunch menu was underwhelming. I thought restaurant week was a showcase of creative new meal choices but I would say Cesar salad, chicken noodle soup and a grilled cheese sandwich were drab and boring. The food we got was good, avocado toast was very good and the chicken and waffle was good, the gravy was amazing but chicken was overcooked. Service was disappointing.
Best spot for breakfast and brunch, the staff is super friendly and food is excellent!!!
Great atmosphere, nice varied menu choices. Staff very attentive.
Be sure to make a reservation if having Sunday brunch!
Will go back to try lunch.
Girlfriend’s birthday brunch, can’t go wrong - great time with friends. Food and drinks were great!
it was great!!
Flying egg has pretty good food ..... overall nice experience
My experience at The Flying Egg was awesome! We went for Saturday brunch. The food is awesome and appropriately priced! The service was great, too! I think I found my new favorite brunch place!
Three meat skillet was amazing! We also had one of the cocktail specials: a cinnamon apple mimosa, which was very nice as well.
Excellent experience! Was greeted cheerfully and quickly sat. The staff was very pleasant, punctual, friendly but not annoying. The food service was quick, the meal was tasty and hot. Prepared as asked. We had a great experience start to finish!
Really cozy and great food. Nice gluten free English muffins
We had reservations at 1:30. Our waitress didn’t even ask to take our order until after 2 o’clock (when the kitchen is closed). Food came out cold and tasteless. We couldn’t send anything back because the kitchen was closed. People around us also complained about their food. My previous experiences have been great (service and food). Perhaps it was the holiday. Not sure if I will be back.
Do not visit the Flying Egg if you're in a hurry. This is a place you sit back, enjoy your company and your drinks while you wait for your food. Most of the time the food is great, but sometimes when they are very busy it can be a little lacking. I've had very good experiences there, and very mediocre experiences. Overall I will recommend it and keep coming back. But just don't go there if you're an impatient person.
Had a chance to try a new special...toasted cheese sandwich Benedict...excellent!!
Food was excellent. Good selection. Service very attentive. And nice to be able to make a lunch reservation.
Love this place!
Bland food, took simple breakfast food an hour to come out.
Took very long to have order taken and food to be served but we were not in a rush.
Food was cold and not tasty
We love The Flying Egg and have been recommending it to all of our friends. Our daughters are students at Lehigh; one freshman and one senior. We saw The Flying Egg as it was being built and have been coming ever since!
We had breakfast at lunch and enjoyed the Eggs Benedict and omelet. Our service was pleasant and did a great job. Great coffee too. We will return.
Food was tremendous. Service was good, but not great.
