The Foreside Tavern
All was wonderful from the host welcoming us and taking our contact info, to the delicious meal that was ready very quickly, to our server who was attentive, friendly and efficient. Always impressed by Foreside Tavern.
I visited for the first time on New Years Eve. The food was delicious and worth the price. My friends and I plan on returning.
We had reservations, seated quickly, orders taken quickly meal arrived timely, warm and delicious. Our server was lovely.
Great service, great food.
Always the best! They are most accommodating and make a huge effort to stay safe with Covid. Our favorite place!
Great salad and attentive service
Empty restaurant with average service. Haddock Chowder as good as I remembered, but the Shaved Steak wrap was greasy and too hot to handle. If they had wrapped it in waxed paper it would have been a nice touch, but as it was presented it was a mess.
Service at my table was from the bartender, and was just so-so (and it was not like he had any customers at the bar). Had to ask for water twice and all in all just a “meh” night, far below average for this location.
It won’t necessarily prevent me from returning, but they have become mediocre during the General Mills COVID-19 militancy. I suspect (hope) that it will get better, but whether others decide it is off their list is up to them.
As an aside, I truly believe that the COVID-19 pandemic will do to service establishments such as restaurants, what 9-11 did to the airlines. The quality of service will be reduced to the point that it makes little difference between a fast casual and an interesting establishment. Anyone who flew first class in the late 1990’a understands that the level of service that was provided to people in the front cabin then will likely rarely be achieved in 2020 and beyond. Similarly, the quality of service we expected at a Fore Street, or similar establishment is diminished, and I for one won’t pay what they expect for inadequate food, ambiance, and service. The difference between the airlines and victuals is that while I don’t own a plane, I can cook, and cook well. So, if y’all want to be in business, figure out how to make it worth my attendance.
