The Front Porch - Leonardtown
We had a large group for a birthday party & The Front Porch was more than accommodating. Our waiter (Chase) was hilarious & can make a mean Smoke Old Fashioned! Would definitely recommend.
Our visit was wonderful. My friends and I were greeted and seated quickly for our 5:30 reservation and the food and service was exceptional. We will return.
We had a great dinner with excellent service.
Went for brunch and the food was amazing. The portion size was a little small.
The food was okay, however my boyfriends pot pie was cold in the middle and my fried green tomatoes were raw inside (batter that is). Our waiter was not the most tentative and did not know the menu. I asked for a wine list, he said they do not have one. But then could not tell me what type of wine they had nor beer when my boyfriend asks for that as well.
I want to like this place, I love the atmosphere and love the porch. But I can’t enjoy the place if I don’t know what to drink-please have a wine/beer menu!
Pleasant atmosphere & great food! Would recommend to all.
The food and drinks here never disappoint! The chef should be applauded for his creative flavor profiles and complex dishes. The drinks...so tasty- try the Wharf Breeze. Environment is cozy, cute and full of rich history. Highly recommend!
Went there for brunch - good food, no crowds at 10 a.m.
Love this restaurant. The food is always delicious
The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The server was professional and courteous.
Wonderful brunch. Great crab eggs Benedict and great service.
While we have enjoyed Front Porch for years this dinner was just ok. I was surprised that for a Saturday 8 pm reservation they were out of multiple entrees (including my top two choices.). Otherwise the service was pleasant and efficient enough. Just ok this time around but we’ll likely give it another try in the not too distant future.
Great food and great service
As usual, the meal was excellent. The ingredients are freshly sourced, and the menu uniquely creative! The Front Porch is a Southern Maryland treasure.
Birthday meal. Mentioned it to the hostess. No one mentioned the Birthday at all. Service was pretty bad!!!
Probably the best meal I had in a while.
Crab dip, crab cake, rockfish, brussel sprouts, all amazing.
Our server had all the specials and options on point for us.
First time experience and will definitely not be the last.
Was not impressed with the meal I ordered as well as the meal my wife ordered. Brussel sprouts felt precooked and were not hot and the shrimp and grits had a horrible sauce over them. But a plus, the pork belly in the brussels sprouts was cooked perfectly.
I normally love this place but they seemed to be off the day we went. It was my friends first time there and it wasn't the greatest experience. I had reservations but the hostess didn't seem able to locate my name. Then our table was practically in the doorway to the room. The table was small so we figured it was because it was just us two. But then we noticed other parties of two sitting at bigger tables. Our server didn't seem to know the specials nor did she seem interested. I've been here before with other people many times. Maybe it was just an off night.
We went for their Wednesday burger night and enjoyed the experience.
Everything was good except for the noise level lots of children and seemed liked everyone was being seated in just one area.
This was my first time dining here and it was a great experience. The restaurant is very quaint since it is a house that was converted to dining space. Our waitress was a young lady who was very attentive and helpful. The one disappointment was that they were out of Brussels sprouts which our group was looking forward to ordering since they were recommended to us and sounded delicious. This just means we'll have to come back again which is fine by me. I ordered the special of the day which was Salmon was coconut baked on top, risotto and spinach. The meal was wonderful and very tasty. My husband got the rockfish with crab meat on top, rice and sweet potato bites. He really enjoyed his meal as well. Since we couldn't get brussels sprouts for our appetizer we opted for our next top pick which was the sweet chili shrimp. I would order this again (if they are out of the brussels sprouts). I love finding new places to eat that are not chain restaurants. We will definitely be back soon to try out other menu items. Very impressed by the restaurant!
Have been to the Front Poarch on many occasions, seems the cook has changed my wife's order was essentially cook to charcoal mention to the server no action taken. I had the turkey pot pie could have been cooked a little more. Will hold off for a while before we go again.
Excellent food and service! Congrats to the owner for keeping the menu fresh and inviting!
Great meal, great service, enjoyed getting to know the other guests! Will definitely be back!
Always an exceptional experience ❤️
Brunch at TFP! Always a treat, this time we had the Steak & Eggs ( NY Strip steak, done just right for a medium cook) and the Eggs Florentine with Crab Hollandaise Sauce. Both plates were beautiful, and tasty!
We love the front porch. Always great food. The owner is awesome.
Always a good place to visit however we do wish they would rotate the menu a bit more often.
The crab dip was outstanding......loved our experience
Trying to find a restaurant that is open late enough to enjoy a nice meal after the concert is hard. But one of our favorite restaurants in Leonardtown had reservations available at 8:30! When the concert ran over, I called to say we’d be 15 mins late. No problem! We had a lovely quiet and delicious meal in the fireplace room - so cozy! And Jas, our server was so nice. The food is always great and tonight’s special Crab Mac & Cheese was delish!
The FP has gone through a bumpy evolution. Initially, in its early version, while it had a good bar, the food was disappointing. Slowly, the food and service improved. Today, the restaurant is good-very good with some excellent food choice, well prepared and often a pleasant surprise. While, I did not before, I recommend the FP now.
Our server was completely lost. 15-20 minutes just for drinks anytime we asked for them. She didn’t know the menu or the bar selections at all. Asked for substitution on one meal and the order didn’t come out right. Had we had more time, it would have been send back. Steak was charred but cooked correctly inside.
Best fried oysters I’ve ever had. Steak was delicious and huge. Wife had scallops that were tender and succulent
Large portions; fresh salads;
Large party: provided a separate room for us
It was Hamburger Hump Day. My BBQ Shrimp and Bacon burger was perfectly cooked medium rare. It was fantastic!!
Great food, friendly staff, historic building. A great place for a quality, relaxing meal.
Oki do not wish to receive any more surveys from open table they require too much time to complete
We had a pleasant experience seated in a small period room with only 4 tables. The menu is unique with some nice touches. We had the sweet chili shrimp appetizer - very special. My wife enjoyed the Salmon Crab Scampi while I had the Teres Major - a shoulder cut of beef - not as tender as a filet - but hearty. I found the items saltier than usual. Drinks were reasonable and delivered promptly.
I think we found our new dinner spot in L'town. Really enjoy this little gem.
The venue is cool. But I thought the food was overpriced and not that good. Also, for the menu prices I would have expected a higher quality tea then what I was served. The service quality was below average for the cost of the meal.
