Wonderful outdoor dinning experience with incredible view!
Igloo dining was so fun, food and drinks were delicious!
Service was exceptional. Food very good. Really enjoyed our dining experience.
Ambiance was good, service was excellent, food was inconsistent. Starter of cheese & meats charcuterie was very good with great accompanying fresh fruit, honey comb & fig jam. We both had the pork shank which although being good lacked seasoning & could have used more of the pan sauce. The apple crisp we shared for desert was terrible! The accompanying ice cream was delicious which made the seriously undercooked apples all the more glaring.....a disappointment indeed.
I would recommend given the ambiance of facing the bay & the terrific servers but sadly would add a caution about the food.
Beautiful restaurant and wonderful service but the food was terrible. It may have because it was an Easter Brunch menu.
We went for Easter brunch. Initially, we were not pleased with our table, but the maître d’ was gracious in accommodating our request to move to a more acceptable location. The food was excellent, and presented beautifully. Our waiter was pleasant, very attentive but not overly present. We were not rushed in any way. I selected five stars for “value”, because the entrées each had an acceptable volume of food, but with drinks - the bill was pretty expensive. But for a special occasion, it was a five star dining experience.
It had been over a year since we had Sunday brunch in a restaurant and this met all expectations and then some! It was a very pleasant afternoon!
Went for Easter brunch with our family, was kinda disappointed that they sat us upstairs in a very quiet room not in The Frost Bar where our reservation was made. The Frost Bar was decorated nicely for Easter and seemed fun and lively w/good vibe, exactly where we thought we’d be sitting with our adult children, but instead we were all put upstairs in a room where it was quiet and removed from the holiday feel. Zero ambiance. Food was strictly ok, came to us luke warm. I would suggest they put some Easter floral arrangements on the tables upstairs instead of a handful of random plastic eggs just tossed in the middle. Didn’t feel much like Easter up there. Pretty disappointed.
Nicole in the Concannon Room is terrific.
Understaffed -- one waitress serving all tables and making all drinks at the bar. Took 1.5 hours before our order was even taken. Not worth the wait.
Lunch was great! The service was amazing and the food was so great!
Love the setting, have been inside and in an igloo. Scallop dish was very salty, wine and coffee were great! Very noisy, trivia night, very difficult to talk over microphone.
Would we go back? Absolutely, been there many times, this is the first time we haven't been pleased.
Loud, expensive, poor value, cold. Our server was very good and attentive.
The hostess was very unpleasant and hardly looked up from her phone when we entered. The food was just ok, it's very overpriced. My mother's lobster roll was burnt, definitely not worth $30!
We ordered apple crisp—-was not good. Also, maybe due to masks and music but waitstaff didn’t seem that friendly. Would recommend only because of the ambiance.
Great food , music and service.
There was confusion about our reservation upon arrival because of the different spaces (Pub, Frost Bar, Igloos), which didn't bode well for the dining experience. No server greeted us after we were seated. There was no bread or anything to nibble on while waiting to order. We finally ordered and the food came quickly enough. Chicken stew was ok but nothing special for $25. Disappointing overall, given the cost.
The atmosphere here was fun and they provided excellent service. We sat at the bar for drinks and food. Dana and the other bar tenders were welcoming and friendly. The hostess Mary was attentive and helpful. Definitely recommend this place for a night out. Guests were socially distanced and wearing mask when not at their tables.
We ordered sweet potato soup, crab cake, oysters, and fish and chips. We enjoyed all the food but we could have done without the oysters, we’ve had better. The sweet potato soup with maple croutons was delicious! The drink selection was great.
We had a reservation but were treated like we didn't have one. The hostess was not that interested in where we sat. The food and drinks were not good. Not going back again.
Love Ocean edge
Met all Covid safety requirements while still providing a pleasant atmosphere. Jeff was our server and was great.
Food was terrible. Cold, ridiculously small portion. Scallops were the size of a quarter.
I called Ocean Edge to make a reservation and was told I needed to go to Open Table because OE does not take reservations. This of course I found out later was not true. How could an employee at OE give me the incorrect information. Anyway I went on Open Table and thought I made the correct reservation for an igloo but I made it for the restaurant instead. Very very disappointing as it was a special night for my wife and I. I asked to speak to the manager and it took 15 minutes for him to show up. Of course I got no satisfaction from him. We will never go to Ocean Edge again. No great loss for us. The looser is Ocean Edge.
Not impressed with the food. Sweet potato soup tasted burned. The steak was of poor quality. The mixed cocktails were good and the ambiance was excellent.
Decor was awful, service terrible, staff was unwelcoming. Food was good but would not return.
We really wanted to love this night and our dinner—— the ambiance was great, however the service was extremely slow..it appeared the bartenders were extremely busy and also had to wait tables. We could sense the stress and rush they were experiencing and we felt bad for them. For the price we spent on our dinner, I would have expected the service to be at the same level.
Everything was great we ordered the artisan salad with a side of lobster salad.
The lobster salad was seasoned well and tasted delicious. The size of the artisan salad was skimpy. Jeff makes the best bloodies!!
Great service, nice atmosphere. Very busy they handled the rush well. Very expensive but we knew that going in. Al in all a good time!
I think its a little unfair to review a restaurant like this in the middle of a pandemic, during the coldest weekend of the winter. Our experience was good but disappointing because we could not get a reservation during the hours when the Valentine Dinner special was available. Our waiter was most friendly and helpful. We did get the Valentines Special for take-out and ate it in our beautiful suite. I would like to return at a more conducive time.
We went on Valentine’s Day weekend and thought it would be a cool place to grab lunch. I made a reservation on open table. Upon driving in it was very unclear where to park or go- finally we found out way through this make shift outdoor area - there were two women at the host station- neither acknowledged us as they were chatting and trying to organize the existing reservations and complaining. After about several minutes one of them rudely greeted us and asked if we had a reservation. I said yes and wondered if it was in one of the igloos and she laughed and said no those have been booked forever.-You can sit over here. We Sat down in the makeshift structure that was plastic and wood with air blowing in- for being a historic mansion it did not go - it was cheaply made and hideous with the huge blowers and wires everywhere. We ordered drinks and were told we needed to order food which we ordered a hummus platter - when it was delivered the waiter said here’s your food you didn’t want...ok... We had our drinks and left immediately -I did use the restroom inside and the interior was run down old and dirty. As we were leaving I heard the same two women making snarky comments about another guest while others stood by. Overall it was a terrible experience I would never go back there and it’s unfortunate as it has such a great potential.
Food was terrible. Menu small. Stuck us in this back room. Our waitress was awesome despite the awful food.
Great food and service every time.
Second time my husband have been there in the past couple of months, once for lunch and recently for dinner. Food was great and the service was very attentive and helpful.
Greeter was particularly rude - came across like we were annoying her by coming for dinner
My fiancé and I were very excited to try the frost bar, and celebrate a rare night off after a recent engagement. We were seated about 15 feet away from the host stand, and about 8 feet away from the door, regardless of there being only 2 other seated tables. There was a small heater above the table, but didn’t help the opening and closing of outside doors behind us. The host was listening to voicemails on and off throughout the dinner service on a very loud speaker phone. The waiter, while was very nice, seemed almost inconvenienced in speaking to us to get a drink or food order. Some of the staff continuously removed their mask while walking through the ‘indoor’ outdoor area. The oysters were delicious but not shucked properly and had multiple large shell fragments in both the baked and raw oysters. We ordered the charcuterie board which ended up having about 1 pound of cheese and 6 crackers. We wound up ordering our entree to go, out of discomfort. With my fiancé and I both currently working in the service industry, we expected more from a fine dining restaurant
I am extremely disappointed with our experience. The company stated to use the OpenTable app and when I made a special request because I was proposing to my fiance none of them were completed. They seated us in not the space I wanted and did not have a bottle of champagne I requested waiting. Very unprepared. We even asked the manager about whole situation and stated I should have called.
Don’t believe the hype! Had reservations for 2 at 7pm in the “Frost Bar”. We were NOT seated in the frost bar but another room in the building. The room itself should have been called the “Frost Room” by how cold it was. “Jack Frost” signature drink lacked flavor. Charcuterie board was ok. Risotto was undercooked. Scallops and ink pasta was ok however the chorizo was cold. None of our dishes were exceptional. Start to finish we were there for 2 hours which was too long.
My second time there! Fun is hard to come by right now, and they have pulled it off!
I reserved an igloo only to be told I reserved inside. This was confusing. Service slow and food just ok.
I understanding it was New Year's Eve during Covid but they could have made it special. My reservation was for 6:30 p.m. and they were not prepared for patrons at that time. They were putting on table clothes and then decided not to. It wasn't special at all and they were only going through the motions.
We went on New Years Eve afternoon. My sister and I chose this as a unique experience to mark the end of a rough year. We knew about the expense - thought it was just due to NYE but recently saw the prices for igloos are the same as we experienced.
The igloos are fun and esp due to pandemic and the gorgeous spot facing Cape Cod Bay. However a $150.00 minimum makes this a destination adventure and would imply some level of service and food that fits a 2 hour maximum experience.
Cannot say it worked well. In the end after speaking with management we were well satisfied. The minimum was a reach for two people but the drinks and menu items were price.
Logistics were weird and clearly a shakedown cruise.
We would go again with a group of 4-5.
The rules and process were a bit contrived. All entrees were grouped and more like lunch/ small plate combos. They were planned for two servings.
Just a lot to deal with for guests.
The other issue is the seating: Adarondik chairs were not suited or comfortable to handle eating a number of the dishes offered as they angle back. Fondue was one of the offerings - not our idea of fondue but just difficult to share and handle with small tables and unwieldy chairs.
So all in all a fairly expensive afternoon but the inventiveness was fun and no harm done- just not the kind of holiday ambiance we expected.
We love this venue and offer this feed back really to help plan. From the check- in until we spoke to management it was the gang that could not shoot straight. All is well in that this offered a fitting ending to this pandemic year where we all have learned to cope.
