Great food and great service. Will definitely come back
Always great, nice date or group night out, casual to formal dress
A disgrace and an EMBARRASSMENT for me personally as I invited 2 other couples and recommended the Gables. Food ordered (3 seafood trio) couple of steaks. Seafood came out COLD and I mean COLD, steak was lukewarm. We sent it back, came back "warm" but lobster was rubbery and no taste with the shrimp, only the crab cake had some flavor. One gentelemen's steak took about 15 minutes longer than the others and HIS was also lukewarm. I realize the servers were frustrated, but this was just unacceptable. At the very least they should have had food runners, as we knew our server had too many tables and must have let the food sit too long. Again, we understood it was Valentine's Day BUT for the price $39 for the seafood trio, not good enough. never again!!!!
Food is pricey. Mashed potatoes were cold but waitress did respond with fresh sides. Otherwise a pleasant experience.
Outstanding food and outstanding service from Mindy. Came to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Cannot thank the Gsbles enough for an excellent evening. Mindy went above and beyond even taking photographs for us. Food as usual was excellent.
Superb service, excellent value, and outstanding food (Try the shrimp & grits!) made for a wonderful date night.
We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch. We loved the fireplace being at eye level.
Went for a birthday brunch and all had the buffet. It was not extensive, but it was delicious. Wish the omelet station also had the option for a fried egg. You can add on entrees, like Eggs Benedict, for a discounted price which was tempting, but no option for a simple side of eggs. Very inexpensive for brunch buffet and would go again.
Always superb food and attentive service.
Birthday dinner with my wife. It was an excellent experience.
Dinner was delicious! The desserts were heavenly! Chef Darryl & Chef Ann are Amazing!!! Our waiter Phillip, took great care of us as always. All the staff at the Gables are Awesome! Highly Recommend "The Gables"!
Love this place. Food is fabulous. Lunches are the best value around.
Kansas City Steak entree was disappointing. No clue what kind of steak we were served but it wasn’t Kansas City. It was flat and fatty. Also - we don’t think it stated in the menu that the steak would have gravy in it. But, it was served with a gravy. Gravy was just ok, but the steak was not good.
The other two entrees ordered were seafood and both were very good. Waiter was Daniel and he was very nice and food was delivered at a good pace.
Great anniversary spot. The staff made it very enjoyable for us to talk and spend a long time catching up and discussing the last 14 years. They new it was our anniversary and made it special.
Great atmosphere friendly people and lovely music. We loved the food it was all delicious!
Thank you so much for your rating, Lindsey! We are so glad you enjoyed your meal with us. We look forward to seeing you again!
Went with my parents and family for my birthday dinner - we had stopped going because it was so loud my elderly father couldn't hear. I wanted to try it out again. Service was fantastic! and we had practically the whole restaurant to ourselves for most of the dinner since we went early on a weeknight.
Everyone loved their food except mine was extremely plain jane. This is what the menu described for the pappardelle caprese: Pappardelle, Fresh Mozzarella, Pesto, Spinach, Heirloom Tomatoes, Garlic Olive Oil, Mushrooms, Toasted Parmesan Bread Crumbs
Got it with no mushrooms and it was basically noodles in broth with cut up chunks of asparagus??? (I do not like asparagus tho I ate it anyway - but where did that come from?) and maybe 4-5 cherry tomato halves and 2-3 pieces of spinach somewhere underneath all the noodles - for $24! Everyone else enjoyed their food but weren't raving about it. I guess I picked wrong on the month old "new" menu. Brought most of mine home and will try to doctor it up with my own spinach and tomatoes for leftovers. Will not be going back any time soon.
Thank you for your feedback. We will pass your comments onto management and they will discuss them with our chef. We do hope you come back to see us again. Please contact us before you come in so we may arrange to have a manager stop by your table to ensure you have a better experience.
Went to meet up with best friends from Childhood. We had a great time together, had delicious food and excellent service (repeat excellent service)!!!! Waitress served promptly and told us about the area and fun things to do nearby. What an absolute wonderful experience that I found and reserved on Open Table!!! Thanks for a fabulous day!!
Thank you so much for your review! We are so glad you enjoyed your experience with us. We hope to see you again soon!
Waitress didn't make eye contact much even though place not full. Ahi tuna appetizer was dreadful. fatty and chewy full of septa and not as fresh as even some PUBs in the area. I'm not not picky about service, but I didn't get the feeling we were welcome at all. Food (entrees) were average. My Pasta pappardelle was really subpar though: noodles overdone, vegetables fine but really bland flavor (?maybe b/c someone forgot Salt... and waitress didn't even offer any Romano or parmesan).. I could have easily made this at home for far less. Dinner rolls were subpar for sure, other pubs in the area which don't consider themselves restaurants have fresher more hearty rolls.
Not Impressed at all. Ambience is great but the food and lax service kind of ruined the evening. Way better food and value in Chadds Ford / Glen Mills than this place
My five friends and I had a wonderful leisurely lunch, for the first time, visiting your restaurant. We are from Bucks County, Pa. so we do not get down to your beautiful area very often. Our waiter was fantastic. I will definitely recommend you to our friends who may be coming your way next weekend. Thanks for a lovely lunch!
Thank you so much for your review, Kathy! We are so glad you and your friends enjoyed your lunch with us. We look forward to seeing you again the next time you are in the area!
There were four of us and we enjoyed our time at the restaurant. The menu was broad but not overwhelming. My wife had the short ribs and was extremely pleased. The wine list is complete and the service very attentive on a very slow Wednesday evening. We would go back
Thank you so much for your review, Edward! We are so glad everyone enjoyed their meal. We hope you come back to see us again soon!
My friend and I are regulars when we want to have a nice relaxing lunch. Never disappoints. Food, value, service and atmosphere are good. I have no complaints and will return.
Thank you so much for your review! We look forward to seeing you again!
Food and service was excellent!
Wonderful lunch while sitting at the bar. Adorable restaurant with great service. I had the mushroom soup and chicken salad sandwich on a croissant . My husband had the salmon sliders with side salad. I then had cheesecake and he had the pecan pie....omg....so very good. We absolutely loved our meals! We will definitely be returning to try other items on the menu....because it was very hard to make a decision with so many great offerings.
We have been several times but this experience was not good...lovely restaurant with decent service however on this visit the food was barely tolerable. A shame because we used to like it...not so much any more. Won't be back any time soon.
The food was excellent. I had the crab and shrimp in puff pastry and my husband had the paella. The dessert menu was awesome, everything looked good. Everyone was very friendly. We had a great evening and would definitely go back.
The food took too long and the side dishes were cold. They were clearly not prepared for all the reservations which they accepted. The waitress was very nice and apologetic. It is sad as we have been there before and had excellent food and service.
We ordered the mushroom soup and the Gables salad for starters. The soup was delicious but the salad had no flavor whatsoever. We ordered the Salmon and the Filet Mignon for our entrees. The Salmon was way overcooked and tasted like dried cereal. The Filet tasted like top sirloin and had the texture of top sirloin. The wait staff was excellent but the food ( the reason you go to a restaurant) was absolutely horrible. I can safely say we will never return.
This was so good we can't wait to go back again. Had the Shrimp and Grits, that were the best I have ever had. And the Sticky Toffee Pudding was a great way to end the meal.
Excellent venue with great service. The food was outstanding. Short ribs with risotto perfect.
Our appetizer was a disappointment but that has to do with not a fan of pimento. Even so it was not hot which it should have been. The way they did their onion soup really truly did enjoy and would go back just for the soup. Beef Tenderloin was excellent but the Crab Cake was a disappointment.
We are starting to believe that going out to dinner on News Eve is not the smartest idea. Second year in a row we have gone out for dinner on New Years's Eve and found out is not a night that restaurants can be there best due how busy they are. Live & Learn.
The food was tasty and the portions good. Casual atmosphere. When they lost my entree they made good by taking the entree off the check.
My husband and I went with another couple on New Year's Eve. The ambience was nice but the table was really too small for four people. It was not comfortable - with four place settings there was not room for the bread basket and butter.
The service was decent, but the waitress did not get the requested changes correctly communicated to the kitchen. It also took a very long time between appetizers and dinner. There were tables around us that had been seated after us, but got their dinners before we did. When our dinners finally arrives, one of them came to the table lukewarm, at best. My husband's steak was not prepared as requested. Overall, it was not as good an evening as we had expected it to be.
We had a 5:00pm dinner on our way to Longwood Gardens on New Years Eve. The service was wonderful, the food perfect, and our waitress outstanding.
I had forgotten my glasses and she was kind enough to bring me a pair.
We always love it there. You can’t beat their balsamic Brussels sprouts!
Thank you so much for your review! We hope to see you again soon!
Frozen vegetables and desserts do not make for a good restaurant experience. Highlight of the meal was a very good mushroom risotto, but then it went crashing down hill from there. Ahi tuna app was bland, with wilted salad. Scallops were OK, but served over a risotto of mush. Filet was also OK, but again the veggies and the sauce did it no service. Pecan pie was inedible, while the chocolate espresso cake was just defrosted out of the freezer.
The food was fantastic. Our server, Nick, was very attentive and personable. The ambiance was very festive with the Christmas season. I would recommend this restaurant.
Delightful evening out. Food and staff were both excellent. Definitely will be back soon!
Great ambiance and charm. The food was very good and the service was spot on. A great place to go before or after a visit to Longwood Gardens.
Lovely intimate setting. All were warm and gracious
Service was great. Enjoyed food. Would definitely return. Staff were spectacular from moment we arrived!
