Nice to use a local restaurant as we have been since lockdown was lifted , Saturday at the George Henfield was a very good meal for both of us the service was prompt all in all a nice evening we will be back soon .

During Covid ambiance levels to me always seem low, no table cloths, tables not laid up, I could go on. We shared a Squid to start, good. Mains, my wife was impressed with her vegi berger and that IS praise indeed. For me Brill, I was a little disappointed, a tad overcooked for me, but very passable and to finish an Eastern ( Eton ) Mess, well words fail me, absolutely Fab U Lush.

My husband and I had an amazing time at the George last Wednesday evening, we were celebrating our 7th anniversary and that was the best choice!
Food was super tasty, service was excellent and the wine even better.
I recommend the GEORGE in Henfield!

A fantastic Sunday Roast enjoyed by all of us. Roast Beef, Pork and Chicken were fabulous and great value. All served hot and in a timely manner. Great mine host and friendly caring service

I mistakenly booked for 2 when we were 4 but the George was fine about it and managed to accommodate us with very good grace

We loved our Sunday lunch at the George, the service was excellent and quick, the portions were fantastic and the quality of the food very good. All of us agreed that we would have preferred crispier roast potatoes and those who had lamb preferred it to be slightly pinker, but that is personal choice. Otherwise no criticisms and we will return soon.

We had a really good wedding anniversary meal at The George on Friday. We started with the vegetarian platter which we shared and was really Tasty. Gill had Lemon Sole which had been cooked exquisitely and my halloumi burger was very good, though more filling than I had expected. The staff were very friendly and the wine and beer excellent.

Lovely food, recommend the mussels and the camembert.

To many drinkers milling around the bar for my liking in this climate. Service was slow. Food o.k my wife loved here fish and vegetables. My burger was to dry. Might be worth another visit in different times with a more varied menu.

the new menu was very appealing and staff were friendly and attentive. We felt that a lot of thought was taken on keeping the customers safe and social distanced.

Fantastic service, well implemented Covid measures and most importantly food was delicious. Had "The George burger". Great value and ingredients were well cooked and addition of delicate side salad and sliced beef tomato in the burger completed the meal.

Was quiet but to be expected with the reduced capacity.

Always a good to visit the George such a lovely building, an old coaching Inn. Had a very nice meal that was hot and plenty of it followed by a tasty dessert all accompanied by a good beer, what more could you want. Fully recommend a visit.

Our favourite place for Sunday lunch - great quality and perfectly cooked.

First trip to the George and we had great service under the Covid 19 restrictions. We had the chicken burger and hunters chicken pie, and the food was well cooked and presented. We finished with the brownie pudding which was perfect. We will not hesitate to go back when we can. Very impressed!

Best lamb shank I’ve ever eaten, it was that good! Everything was spot on!

Just out of lockdown so very quiet, only one other table taken. Sad. Staff were amazing in every way! We will return!
