   Beautiful restaurant!! The ambience was excellent, the food was great (although I wished I had known it was the brunch menu vs lunch due to Monday being Memorial Day). We had a luncheon for a bride to be (my sister) here along with my mother’s birthday celebration and they brought them both a little dessert. It was fantastic.

   Booked a small dinner party at The George for my birthday and was so happy with the service, lovely ambiance, and the food! Everyone we interacted with really made our night special and it was so nice to just walk through the lounge on our way out.

    For this kind of restaurant, you just expect more. The waitress wasn't able to tell us the kind of oysters they were serving. Just that they each had "funny names". A friend ordered an old fashioned and was told it would be $6 more for the cubed ice. That's ridiculous! The drink came and the ice wasn't even clear. We ordered the chicory and crab appetizer and there was basically a dusting of crab on top. We also ordered the pacific octopus a la plancha that we were planning to split with the 5 people in our party. It would have been nice for the waitress to tell us that the appetizer would come with a single piece of octopus! After our drinks and disappointing appetizers, we actually decided to leave and have our main dinner elsewhere!

    The newly renovated space was lovely. However, the chefs need to be sent back to culinary school for some lessons. The eggs in our dishes were overcooked and hard, not over easy and they were cool to cold. The meats were cool to cold. The english muffins were pretoasted and hard and cold. The wheat toast was not ordered but brought out instead of the english muffins that were ordered by another of our friends. The potatoes were in either huge, whole pieces or in small brown to black overcooked bits. Each plate held a small salad of arugula and cherry tomatoes - all leave were wilted and old looking and the tomatoes were hard and tasteless. And this was an expensive meal, as anyone who eats in hotel restaurants knows. We will not be revisiting The George and will look to other places for brunch when visiting Seattle.

    We made a reservation on Mother’s Day 5:30 pm for a party of 4 ( We had reservation for a show at 7:30) We were seated and ordered probably 15 min after arriving. My son ordered the tomahawk steak and you are made aware that it would take 45 min to prepare. My son as I found out later, actually set a timer to see if would really take 45 min to prepare the steak. We received appetizers in a timely fashion but after about an hour we informed the waiter that we needed the entrees. Her returned 5 min later “it is being played now” 19 min later we received our meal with about 5 min left to enjoy it. After complaining to the manager we received a reduction in the bill of about 25%. I’m not sure what went wrong but this is a very expensive restaurant and it made the later part of our day unnecessarily stressful😩

    I do not care for the "new George". The Georgian Room was elegant and special. The George has a pretty package but the "insides", i.e. the rock music, bland table decor and the food, was all dissapointing.

    The afternoon tea at The George was extremely overpriced given the quality of the food, the service, and the venue. The dining room was so noisy that I could not hear my table companions talk. The tea itself was poorly served, with a style of strainer that left most leaves in the pot to oversteep and become bitter; when I asked for a fresh pot the waiter never bothered to bring it (despite the Mother's Day tea costing nearly $100 a person) - waitstaff also could not bother to refill my water glass, nor to keep straight the difference between a vegetarian and a vegan (I ordered the vegetarian menu but they served me the vegan one, and then would not admit that they had made an error when I told them the items on the tray did not match what the menu described). There are nicer afternoon teas to be had in the Seattle area for half the cost. Not the quality I'd expect from the Fairmont.

    The breakfast was very delicious. The waitress had asked if we had ordered cocktails mid-way through the breakfast. Even though, we did not and told her no, when the bill came there were bar drink charges which after we asked her, she had it removed. We also noticed the table next to us had similar issue of something being charged and had it removed.

    Price not as advertised. Website advertised a 20% lower head rate than we were charged. Waited over a half hour for a prebooked reservation for a special family event, despite multiple confirmations including on site visits. Staff not capable of managing other reservations and didn’t seem sympathetic to our group who included multiple seniors with mobility issues. Quality of food was inconsistent and slow to arrive. Not worth the sticker price. Gorgeous room.

    Loved the interior of this place, and i thought the service and the food altogether was really well done. We had crudo, tartare, oysters, brussel sprouts, bucatini and halibut. Probably one dish too much.

    Unique decor, beautiful patterned marble floor, interesting seating. Waiters were professional and knew when to attend the table, and when to walk by which made conversation easy. All the food was properly cooked and seasoned. Cocktails were well made.

    We celebrated a special event and enjoyed it so much it will become an annual lunch at The George. The service we had was so attentive, my cocktail was delicious, lunch was very good, we really enjoyed the whole experience.     We went for brunch at 12:15pm on Sunday. Main dishes were great but to our surprise, the server told us there were no pastries available (they had ran out) and brunch did not offer dessert. However, those were available for the tea time menu. Our server saw our utter disappointment and managed to bring us 2 macarons and 2 chocolates which was very nice of him. Interesting enough, we managed to get dessert at the bar area that is literally few steps outside the restaurant. As said, we were disappointe that such a nice restaurant won't offer dessert as part of the brunch menu and they don't account for a busy Sunday morning.

    We dined for a birthday. Ambiance was lovely. Our server, Jam, was superb. Cocktails were good too. Food was pretty good — not wow, but good. Interestingly, the same bottle of champagne at the George is $15 more expensive than the same bottle at their hotel lobby bar. So, if you’re looking for a great drinks experience, you may as well stay at the gorgeous lobby bar.
