A lovely room where the emphasis is on style and quality. We were delighted with the large choice of dishes from the menu. The 3 courses were all excellent and delicious, and the helpings generous. Service was excellent too. All in all, a most satisfying experience.
It was great, I’d go again, you should go, it’s a really nice place. This has to be 50 characters long, I don’t have much to say apart from I had a lovely time.
Excellent service, great food and well worth the trip.
Excellent service and superb food - and at £27 for three courses it was excellent value. We hope that The Green manages its way through the COVID crisis. We recommend booking a table for a very “normal and safe” dining experience.
We had the set 3 course menu which was excellent quantity, quality and value for money
Lovely restaurant with very good food. The prices were also good. Nice varied menu. Exactly what you’d expect from a Michelin Bib Gourmand.
The staff was very pleasant and efficient. There was only one person due to there not being many people - two table of 4 and thee tables of two, including us.
We were offered a small glass of warm apple and tumeric as a taster which we could have taken home by the gallon! I chose the guinea fowl and my husband had the fillet steak. His was done medium rare and just how he likes it and my fowl was superb. We have lovely bread to start with warmed butter. We ordered Barolo, expensive but worth it as it was beautiful. For dessert we picked creme brulee which a scoop of mango sorbet at the side which tempered the sweetness of the brulee, super. The coffee (decaff) was nice and I had a local Estate brandy which was excellent.
All-in-all the evening was very enjoyable and the food and drink par excellence. Well worth paying a little more for.
Have been to The Green many times because it is consistently good. We went for my birthday lunch on Weds and all four of us agreed every course was exceptional as was the champers and the wine. Restaurant has stepped up yet another level - definitely the go-to place in Dorset and outstrips other local Michelin establishments. Amazing standard - will be back soon!
Excellent food, menu was varied with good local produce on offer. Superb value, and the staff were impeccably well mannered and welcoming
Food choice and quality was as good as ever. My guests really appreciated the fact the vegan choice was more than the token one or two dishes. We also felt that the atmosphere was a little more relaxed than past visits, some staff changes maybe?
We travel 140 miles down to Sherborne each year to the Green to celebrate my birthday in this small but charming restaurant. Jack (new manager since our last visit in December) lived up to our expectations and was very knowledgeable regarding the red wines. There was a party of three and we all enjoyed each course.
Will be back again late spring early summer.
Lovely restaurant, food delicious and perfectly cooked, lovely staff. Slightly expensive
Friendly, accommodating team. Nice personal touch - the menu had been headed up as "Confirmation Day" - ie really connected to the school community within the town. Lovely buzzy atmosphere. Tasty food. Would recommend.
Wonderful food and service. Gpod choice of nteresting dishes that were presented well and tasted even better. Jack was knowledgable and informative. Always there when we needed him but discretely in the background otherwise. Only slight negative was the lighting was too bright could have done with going down a shade or two. Thank you a very enjoyable evening.
Although Ilminster is some way from the restaurant, the trip is always worth it. We visit as often as we can.
Superb food and friendly atmosphere. I love celebrating my birthday there and highly recommend this outstanding restaurant.
rather slow service. Expensive for the quality of food. Convenient for town centre, but would not go again.
I have been to The Green before, The food is excellent, the service is great and I am never disappointed. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
We spent a lovely New Year's Eve at The Green. The service was brilliant & the food excellent. We will be returning in the new year to enjoy another lovely experience at The Green.
Staff unflinchingly professional in a natural and understated way
This place is A1 with myrtle leaves!!
We had a lovely evening at The Green, the service was superb and the food was wonderful. My husband and I are very much looking forward to another visit!
Visited at lunch time and had festive set menu which was nice quality food, well cooked and good value. Service was excellent. Will certainly visit again
Excellent value for lunch. I had two courses and a glass of wine for £23. Coffee at £5 was however expensive even with the couple of chocolates. Food was excellent and so tasty and fresh and cooked in an imaginative way. Will definitely return in the near future and highly recommend you visit.
Chris welcomed us as if old friends (not visited since February as we live over 140 miles away).
Quick and attentive service - good choice of dishes for all three courses. The wine list is also good if a bit pricey. There was a pleasant buss in the restaurant as customers enjoyed their food.
We will all certainly visit again.
Very impressed with everything, had a great evening
Delightful lunch, the Menu du Jour is great value. We really enjoyed our meal and looking forward to our next visit.
As always - a very fine dining experience - imaginative dishes using local and regional produce.
A real asset to Sherborne.
Delicious Sunday lunch for my son’s 14th Birthday. Menu was short but varied. Good prompt and well presented. Front of house very efficient and pleasant but a tad too formal for my liking - a smile would not go a miss.
Absolutely outstanding food quality and presentation.
Excellent value for such high standard.
we have been quite a few times, this time we took some friends,
Outstanding quality of cooking and great value 3 course lunch plus amuse bouch and breads
Limited wines by the glass....would have liked a medium dry house wine or Chardonnay or voignier at lunch
Booked again already!
Excellent service , great food, lovely touches - definitely a special treat!
Best place for a sophisticated Sunday lunch. Absolutely delicious roast beef but sadly too full to try the deserts!
Our usual venue for dinner with friends when they visit from Scotland. Interesting menus, first class flavours and friendly attentive welcome.
Fantastic food & service all at a very reasonable price for the set lunch menu.
Delicious three course set menu with interesting innovative dishes such as homemade kimchi with sesame seeds - a refreshing delight. Bistro is located in a charming period building in the centre of lovely Sherborne. Attentive but not intrusive service. Pleasantly busy but not noisy atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
Occasional diners at The Green - always a very satisfactory experience.
As always it was perfect, food fabulous, great wines and extremely attentive staff, perfect for any occasion
Excellent meal. Unusual menu which was interesting & our choices were very enjoyable. Very polite waiting service. One very slight complaint & that was that we had to wait quite a while for our main course. However, the waiter was very apologetic & offered us a free drink. The passion fruit panacotta was delicious!
Excellent food as always. Service was brilliant. Couldn't fault the evening.
