The Grove Savannah
Had heard good things and wanted to visit. The food wasn’t great sadly. Cocktails were on point though. Service lagged and the staff seemed to have attitudes except the manager who stopped to ask if things were good. The fish tacos were extremely fishy and no seasoning. The side...Brussels sprouts with bacon were burnt to a crisp and tasted like they had just been reheated. It’s a pass next time for me and my guest.
The space is lovely, however our server seemed a bit distracted and forgot about us, leaving us for large amounts of time. Also we were never asked how we liked everything, so we weren’t given a comfortable opportunity to have things changed, such as well done burgers and watered down drinks.
Visited for Sunday brunch with reservations when they opened at 11am. Overall, food was excellent and it was fun dining on the rooftop. Service was so-so, seemed more ambivalent to us than anything. Sort of expected more in terms of friendliness, warmth, etc. All the other staff were nice though.
great experience! wish there was more rooftop table’s available but the food and drinks were delicious!
We decided to celebrate the evening before our wedding at the grove and it was great! The food was fresh, good portions, and everything was good! They had something for everyone! The only not 5 star thing was the music-it got so loud (we were in a dining room, not the bar) that we didn’t stay to get drinks or desserts because we could barely hear ourselves let alone anyone else.
This place has no clue about atmosphere. There were three different sources of music playing at the same time. They had a live musician playing in one room, club music with heavy bass playing in another and classic rock in the main dining room. We could barely communicate with our waitress. This was an F- dining experience.
We were fortunate enough to have Brandon as our server again. He was amazing. The food was even better than the day before.
We booked for lunch on Sunday not realizing they were only serving brunch. So, we were frustrated from the beginning. Our server was the only good thing about our dining experience. Food was mediocre, at best, and definitely not worth what we paid for it. Very disappointed.
The service here was terrible. I was given the wrong entree. My two dinner maters were finished before my correct entree was brought to me, so I cancelled and left without eating. No manager apology, nothing comped.....a terrible experience!
I had a reservation... We were told our table for 4 was being cleaned “it was pointed out to us by the hostess” the hostess then asked us to step to the side until it was cleaned. She then gave our table away and sat 2 other groups after us. We ended up having to sit outside just to ensure we should eat as soon as possible.
Our waiter was amazing and the food good.
*CUSTOMER BEWARE* We had a reservation, for which we were seated 45 minutes late. We were not approached by any server for 15 minutes (although other tables around us were being serviced), so we left. On the way out, we let the hostess know of our issues, and she did not care. Perhaps the food is delicious, if/when you get to that point.
Brunch menu is very affordable and great food! Recommend..
Good food. Well-crafted cocktails. Service could improve (silverware arriving five minutes after food placed on table). But overall, a pleasant experience.
Very good food and service e
The food was ok, expecting a little better based on reviews I had read.
Servers ignored us
Reservations great- we were seated very quickly and had a great table. The food and drinks were great, but service was really spotty. The waitress was going to other tables with checks and drinks and only checked on us after we got our food. We would have ordered more drinks and needed more water but didn’t since we weren’t being waited on
While on vaca, this was suggested as a great restaurant. It did not disappoint! My quiche was so good and my friend had the Belgian waffles. Drinks were amazing! Definitely check it out!
Excellent brunch! So delicious. Best scrambled eggs and quiche ever!
Everything was great but the coffee machine was not working so they had no coffee at bunch. I would have thought they would find a work around. 😢
Great food and drinks. The noise level was quite loud, so it was hard to have a conversation or even speak with the server. The air conditioning vent kept dripping on both my daughters and there was nothing they could do about it, so that was annoying and ruined the ambiance a bit.
The service and food left a lot to be desired. I was very disappointed overall.
after having confirmed reservations for over 2 weeks we still had to wait 30 mins on a table. I had to ask twice for a server to come to the table after we sate 10 mins with no one greeting us or asking for a drink order.
Took 45 minutes for food to arrive. It was busy but ifs too much for the staff you should consider adding more. Drinks, everything took forever. Almost walked downstairs to pay bc it took so long.
Great location, Street parking if available as well as paid park my available. Visually appealing restaurant. Had reservations for brunch on Sunday and our party of 4 was seated very quickly. Service was attentive, knowledge and friendly. Food was delicious. Our largest complaint is the noise control. The acoustics are poor. Even with social distancing, our party of 4 was seated in an area with two other tables, both with parties of 6 including children. Our ability to have a nice conversation amongst our party was difficult.
The service was awesome. So much fun!
Music way way way too loud. Food was made well but flavors were lacking - everything was bland and/or too sweet. Our server was a sweetheart and dealt well with being much too busy. Oh, and tons of "woo girls" - I guess to be expected given location but for a brunch in the morning I'd expect a little less screaming from my fellow patrons. Won't go back.
Very disorganized. Waited at least 10 minutes after being seated before anyone came by to take our order. Food was semi-cold. Drinks were good - summer pouch thing. Oh, and there was a long hair on one of our water glasses...yum. Their Instagram account is well run and paints a much nicer picture than the reality of the place.
The food was amazing! We had a party of 5 and I recommend at least a couple of the "cajun angels" and one of the cheese plates for the table as appetizers. I've been making it part of my vacation once a year for the past 3 years...never have I had a bad meal there.
We came made reservations which were actually not needed for the rooftop. Very busy- but we shared a hummus with a mojito and a bullet and ginger.
This was our fist time dining at the Grove and it was definitely a treat. Our server was excellent. I believe his name was Ryan or Bryan (it was a little hard to hear with masks and the music in the background). He was very friendly, professional, and polite. His knowledge of the menu and recommendations for food were spot on. Speaking of food, the charcuterie plate, sweet potato and spinach salad, and Cobia will be at the top of my list for some of the best dishes I’ve had. The salad had so many complimentary flavors that it didn’t even need dressing. That’s pretty rare to find.
The ambiance is nice in the downstairs booth area and the pillows add a very nice, welcoming touch. The only thing I saw that could be improved was the music was a touch loud for a dinner service. But certainly, that won’t keep me from going back when I’m in town.
We had dinner here while visiting Savannah. The music was very loud, but that is just a side note. Our food was great, very good drinks. My dad commented several times about the shrimp from the appetizer list and commented that he wanted it for his whole meal. In general, a very great experience.
What a vibe - 194 oz mule 🎊🎊🙏
My boyfriend and I took a day trip to savannah. A rooftop bar was our intended first stop and I am so happy we chose The Grove! We grabbed a cocktail (rosemary sweet tea) which was AMAZING. The rooftop had a great view. I loved the ambiance and will definitely be going back!
Baby shower luncheon bummed out because of a sour waitress (Gabby H.). All started out well we had the little cake we were going to eat with our lunch (6 of us) and a few presents for the mom to be. This being our first time we didn’t realize that the brunch menu was the only thing being served. One of us had ordered something not on the menu and when the waitress informed they immediately went to order something from the brunch. Before we could get the new item out of our mouth the waitress spouted “I do have other tables did you know what you wanted”. Well of course you have more tables Gabby you are a waitress, but this was very rude for you to do to your current table that you are serving. Food and drinks came, which was delicious by the way, Gabby brought the check and took the credit card. When she came back we mentioned could we have some small plates so we could enjoy some cake while we finished up our food, and were told there’s a $20 cake cutting fee. $20?? We just paid you $120 in food why would it be ok to charge us $20 to cut a cake we brought and informed The Grove of that we were bringing and no one mentioned it??!?! Then she was totally annoyed that I asked for my drink to go and in a rush slid a to go cup over to me with no lid. This was not a great first experience and we quickly grabbed the gifts and cake and left since we were obviously holding up all the other guest that were not waiting and the several empty tables. The Grove we ask that you please remind your waiters and waitresses that the customers are what keep the Restuarants in business and we were not even there for an hour. So sad and hopefully no other customers get treated this way.
Very noisy for dinner. Could hardly carry on a conversation with our party.
This review is for Saturday Brunch. Great food and friendly staff. They are definitely overloaded and it sometimes takes a minute to flag down your server. The drinks are delicious, the food impeccable, and the view from the roof was amazing. They play loud club music at brunch which was weird considering most people are probably hungover but it did drown out my tinnitus so that was a plus. Overall, I enjoyed it and would like to go again. Get the shrimp and biscuits and gravy.
Great service even during times of Covid 19. Staff worked quickly to get us food and drinks out in a good amount of time! Will def go back next time I’m in Savannah.
Great rooftop bar.
The food was very good. The music was WAY too loud.
