The sandwiches and cakes were delicious. There were probably too many cakes but our server -who was lovely -boxed up the cakes i couldn't eat and I brought them home for later

I was charged €86 twice on Saturday December 20th for afternoon tea so naturally I expect to be reimbursed for one payment.

My two friends and I met for a quiet celebration over afternoon tea in the Hardiman. The nook to which we were escorted was ideal, quiet and calm. There was only one other group having tea the same afternoon. Kevin and his team were so kind and most obliging, bringing refills of teapots with a smile. I even got Barrys tea which was a real bonus- I’m afraid the Earl Grey etc are just not my cup of tea! The selection of sandwiches was delicious, the scones and mince pies just melted in the mouth. As for the top tier- the sweet selection was incredible, beautiful creations including salted caramel profiteroles… Such a treat for a really special occasion…

The ambiance was nearly non-existent. We were placed in a small side room with no views. Service was OK, but not attentive. The food was mediocre, at best. Low value for the price. We were disappointed.

The food was delicious and very beautifully presented and good quality tea. Other reviews that I had seen suggested the portions were small but for an afternoon tea, I felt that it was quite generous. Our experience was a little disappointing with slow service and we found it strange that not every one was given their own tea pot so we shared relatively small pots and had to ask for refills. We also only were given one small milk, one butter dish, and one clotted cream for a table of 5 so it felt like we had to reach across one another frequently and ask for more multiple times. The ambiance was also a little limited by a brunch in the neighboring dining room that was blaring Abba.
