The Hinds Head
Superb food at a reasonable price, great service also. However we went the same night as the pubs shut and they didn't want to sell us there beer cheap 😂
Been on many occasions over the last year and as always great food and service.
Perfect combination of smart and homely. Excellent food, service and setting.
Great value for money
Food lovely; however pate was not home made which is disappointing as it is £7! The main course was delicious. Been before which is why we went back but the service from one waitress was really shocking. Not one smile throughout our visit. She was miserable and boadering on rude. Not the job for her! It's a shame as the bartender was lovely.
With friends for lunch. We all enjoyed our food. The fish pie I had was delicious
Met up with a friend for lunch .
Had the chowder which was absolutely amazing followed by the pie of the day.
Great experience great price definitely recommend this place
Have never been disappointed with the food or level of service at The Hinds Head.

Beautiful rustic venue, lovely food and excellent service
They were out of one dish by our 19:00 booking, but the service was great.. the food was great and the atmosphere was good.. very relaxed.
Been numerous time always get great service and wonderful food .
Amazing service from the waiter Tom who went above and beyond for my mums 60th. The food was top quality and was spoilt for choice with the menu! I would definitely recommend as lovely food at a reasonable price! They even sang happy birthday and put a candle in her dessert for the occasion which was a nice touch! Definitely visiting again.
Excellent food and service will definitely recommend it to others and will
go again soon
We booked last minute for a impromptu late lunch on Valentine’s Day. The staff here are lovely, very friendly and the real fire is a lovely homely touch.
Unfortunately the food was not the best, it took a long time to come (40 minutes) for a club sandwich and a chicken burger (it wasn’t particularly busy) The chicken burger was over cooked and the club sandwich cold but we were so hungry by the time it arrived we just tucked in. Chips and the wine were very good though
Always great food and service! Tried something new today, as I always go for the chicken curry! I ordered steak baguette and it was absolutely gorgeous!!! I will definitely be ordering it again!
Great place to eat really enjoyed it would visit again
Lovely evening out, fantastic meal and fabulous atmosphere the minute you walk in to the minute you leave.
Excellent food, yet again. Good job it isn’t too near to us or I’d be giving up cooking! Lovely staff, very welcome and helpful.
Unfortunately I was made very poorly as I’m coeliac. Allergic to wheat and gluten. I was assured several times that my meal was gluten free but after I’d eaten it I was informed by staff that they’d given me the wrong plate by mistake. As a result I’m very ill. I appreciate their honesty in telling me when they realised their error and I’m informed by the owner that they have changed their internal procedures as a result to avoid this occurring again. However please take caution if you have an allergy.
Very good all round as usual. Lunch menu is value for money.
Great friendly service and excellent food
Excellent food and lets face it, that’s what we went for. Marked the Service down because it took 15-20 minutes after being seated before we were asked if we’d like drinks. In my experience it normally happens at the point of being seated or being presented with Menus. I think she might have had something else on her mind. The Waiter sorted that out when he came to take the food order. As said, we went to eat on recommendation and we weren’t disappointed with the food, it was excellent and generously portioned. Value for Money marked down, the soft drinks are expensive, glass of lemonade £3.50!!
Would definitely go back though.
The food was good but the prices were gastropub high. The evening was let down by the general customer experience. Our table wasn’t ready so we were asked to get a drink and wait in the bar area. There was no room. A group of 6 had wrapped themselves around 90% of the bar area which was compounded by a large loud man ooshing us further into the 10% because he wanted to stand by the bar talking to the party of 6. When we were seated by the table the food came fairly quickly. We had completed our 2 courses within 30 minutes of sitting down. We had a bit of a wait for the bill, and when it came they had omitted our drinks, so it needed re doing. Furthermore, the young waitress didn’t know how to process the meal voucher we had tendered. What made the customer experience poor, was being told that they couldn’t refund the difference between the voucher and the meal price, so we would have to take drinks instead, but we only had 10 minutes to vacate the table as they had somebody else who wanted it. Thank god we didn’t want pudding!! We were halfway through our drinks when we were asked to move. “ If you hurry up, you can have the seats the people waiting are in, but you will have to be quick.” We had had enough by this point and just left. We were there an hour for what was supposed to be an ambient gastro pub meal and had to make way for another booking. We felt rushed and pushed out. The waiting staff need some input on customer service as well. I was continually called mate by a young lady old enough to be my grand daughter!!
The first time here was great, second time quite good, third, OK &....this time, the noodles were hard, with way to much sauce and the chips were cold. Service is always very pleasant, but we waited at least 30 minutes for dessert (last time 20 minutes - it's awkward!) & then were only served after reminding staff that we were waiting. It's made us think twice about returning....it's a shame when I've recommended to friends...
Food was good but the tables are far too close together and you can easily hear everyone's conversation. Tables are tightly packed so guests were knocking into people. Half the restaurant the seating was better. Not sure I would go again but the food and service was good.
Excellent food and really great attentive staff, always smiling.
Fantastic food, staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go again x
Lovely meal at lunch time. Welcoming friendly staff, food delicious. Would recommend
Delicious food, lovely warm friendly atmosphere. Clean and cosy inside. Our waitress was really helpful and knowledgeable about vegan options. 1 starter came out a little later than the others and we had to wait a couple of minutes for cutlery to be replaced after starters once our mains were out. Other than that couldn’t fault it. Overall a brilliant night and we will be returning. Thank you :)
My wife and I enjoyed our meal at the Hinds Head restaurant I had the mussels my wife had a Sunday dinner we have ate there on more than one occasion and found the food and service to be very good I would also recommend reserving a table at the weekend
Amazing food and service, highly recommended, creamy wild mushroom starter was gorgeous and stuffed chicken with mash potatoes was amazing, will definitely be going again
