The food was amazing!

Fantastic as usual always fast service and make my little dog coco very welcome the food is excellent....

The food has always been great at the hinds head. Always made to feel welcome every time we go. I had a Guinness which was well served and a single malt whisky which was very fairly priced. Will keep visiting again and again.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Great atmosphere and service and the food was excellent as always. Staff are always friendly and helpful and there’s always a nice buzz to the place.

Went for Sunday lunch was so tasty .Ihad turkey Husband had beef with all the trimmings Would definitely recommend Very attentive staff All COVID rules adhered too

This was our first visit and I'm going to start with the positives first. The inside is nicely decorated and is very inviting with a cosy real fire. We didn't have a starter but my chicken wrapped in ham and my husbands hotpot were both excellent, we also agreed that it was good value for money. On the downside, we waited quite a long time for our first drinks to arrive. The music was not really the type that suits a restaurant and it was too loud. Unfortunately, my husband is a coeliac and there was nothing on the dessert menu that he could eat, all he could be offered was a couple of scoops of plain vanilla ice cream. So it was all nearly there but not quite for us.

Nice welcome, good service, good food, but we were disappointed that having booked we were allocated a small table by the walkway between two rooms. We would have thought this table would have been reserved for walk-in diners at busy times. A little more thought would have made our evening much more enjoyable.

Food was fair but felt to be overpriced for the quality and taste. Service was extremely poor and slow.

Excellent Sunday roast. The duck spring roll starter was amazing. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Will definitely be back again.

Not all the staff were wearing face coverings and those who were not, were not wearing a medical exemption badge. in the current situation, it is expected the restaurant staff wear them or display that they dont for medical reasons.

we commented on it and even the table next to us asked if we felt comfortable with staff not wearing masks.


food wise, some of the meals were left half eaten as the roast dinners were dry and hard. The potatoes on the fish dishes were semi cooked and not tasty.

The mussles, the chicken wings and the stroganoff were first class

Excellent food, lovely staff - attentive without being intrusive. It was a little bit noisy, which was ok, but one of our party is going deaf and I don't have a very loud voice so we ended up not talking very much. We still had a great evening though.

I live to eat out but what i find poor in most places i go to are poor chips, great big thick half cooked pieces of potatoes With a strange taste arnt chips they should be crisp and thiner but thicker than fries and the chips we were served were terrible spoiled my meal I wouldn’t recommend the chips at all

A beautiful family lunch food excellent with a great choice on the menu!

Sadly it was a little too busy if I'm being honest in these surreal times , there were 5 tables in what was a small room , so I felt a little anxious .

First time dining our table was right next to the booking in table so we got a constant tooing and frooing of the staff in and out of the kitchen but this wasn't an issue. The food was first class as was the service. Very impressed and covid safe, we'll be back

Steak £22.00 hardly any vegetables, few chips, then expected me to pay a further £2.95 for a sauce, £5.00 for a medium white wine in a non measured glass looked more like a small, obviously due to lockdown the customers are now being overcharged to compensate rip off wouldn't go back

We visited the Hinds Head for lunch to celebrate my house birthday. We received a warm welcome and was shown to our table after sanitizing and doing track and trace. The tables were well spaced and we felt very comfortable. The food was delicious and was surprised when my husbands dessert arrived with sparklers and two singing waitresses, a lovely surprise. We have been before before the outside booths were installed and on leaving through a different door we saw them and decided our next visit will be in one of the booths they look so inviting. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.😊

We went to Hinds Head for lunch to celebrate my wife's birthday. We ended up sitting outside as it was a nice and sunny day. Food was great and arrived fairly quickly. Chicken in past was very good and peppered steak ciabbatta was very good too. Service was good. Will definitely visit again!

Been to the Hinds Head quite a few times now and the food was as excellent as ever.
Came with a friend and we both had the Sunday lunch. One Roast pork and the other Roast ham. Both meats were delicious and cut nice and thick. All the vegetables fresh not frozen and the food was piping hot. Also the plates were heated which is just as important. Personally I would have liked a little more gravy but am at fault for not asking for more.
Generous portion of dessert, lemon roulade, nice and sharp with a very generous amount of cream served separately.
My only observation was we were asked too often if we were okay for drinks and asked twice if our food was alright. Did not feel the waitresses knew which tables they were looking after.
However this is an excellent place to dine in and the food is really excellent.

Really amazing value under £70 for three mains, three starters and 4 drinks, very generous portions, nice interior, staff friendly and helpful and a lovely view of the hills - what's not to like!

Decent food, i had roast cod with a mild curried sauce. Complinented each other lovely. Dont like the fact you have to pay extra for sauce with your steak. I don't like that anywhere though.
