Great food, friendly waitstaff, and a lovely atmosphere. Really couldn't ask for more!
Came for Sunday lunch with visitors from abroad. A great example of traditional fair! No idea how they manage it from the tiny kitchen but everything was so tasty. Really interesting well seasoned dishes, service was very good, swift but not rushed even at such a busy time!
Local pub with buzzing atmosphere offering excellent food quality and variety. A little too noisy at times
The food at this gastro pub is really excellent. Fresh, well-prepared, with an interesting, varied and frequently changing menu!
Great food and great pub, on the more expensive side of things but I guess this is Hampstead. Attentive service, excellent beers and wine. Lovely roasts. Had the pardon peppers to share and they were good too.
The booth seating is not for those of large stature, got a bit cosy after a large plate of food! Definitely recommend though and very kid / dog friendly.
I have been there twice now for dinner. The food is delicious and the service is very helpful and cheerful. Would recommend to anyone for a nice dinner and drinks.
Great Service and atmosphere in the restaurant! Would highly recommend if in the Hampstead area.
Great on all levels!
Would highly recommend for sunday roast.
Great service, so easy to book a table. Very happy. Would definitely recommend!
Lovely ambience. Great staff and excellent roasts!
Good food, vibe. Loud
The food was over salted to the point it was inedible
really busy, packed in, food a bit meh, roast could have done with more green stuff/ veg, nice beers tho
Great food and the beer is fantastic too! Thankyou very much
Good food and perfect dinner area. They had a kid menu which was a plus. We had a nice time.
The Horshoe has been patchy in terms of quality over the years, but pleased to say they are back on form with excellent menu and great service
We went for a Sunday Roast, having heard great reviews from friends in London, and weren't disappointed - we had the beef, pork belly and the vegan nut roast and everything was exceptional. Service was friendly and fast, but we spent an hour and a half enjoying our food without feeling rushed as the pub was very busy.
Fantastic meal and service, great value for money. They made our Christmas dinner party very special. Would definitely recommend!
Best Sunday roast I’ve had in London for some time
We only live down the road and we decided to come here on a Friday night for some food with my parents. The food and service was excellent and Camden Brewery beers were even better! Highly recommend!
Our first choice always for Sunday lunch when visiting regularly from France. The roast beef is excellent quality and value. Friendly and very helpful staff too. My only qualification is that it is all piled on to too small a plate. Either larger plates or potatoes and yorkshires in separate bowls would make for a better presentation and nicer eating experience.
Excellent for family lunch. Good food and great service. Staff do pay attention to children and are kind
Busy place and clearly no capacity to cope.
We waited for 40 minutes to be served and then found out that they have missed one order (we were 6 and didn’t take the order of one of us, the waiter only wrote down 5 dishes), resulting in the 6th person having to wait for 20 additional minutes.
There was no apologies, just one waiter blaming the other, and a 12.5% service charge reflected in the bill anyway. Outrageous!
Thanks for your feedback Xiana. I’ve just caught up with the team about your visit. Unfortunately, the note about the gluten free burger caused some confusion as we were getting to grips with a new till over the weekend (fixed that problem now) and obviously we struggled to keep up to speed. I'm sorry that we didn’t meet the mark this time and I'd like to make it right. If you could email me at Milo@thehorseshoehampstead or give me a call on the pubs number, that’d be great Best regards, Milo
Great food and service. Would recommend
Great food and value for money - just noisy but I will be coming back again
This is our fourth visit to The Horseshoe, we have been for Sunday lunch and on Saturday evenings. Food is consistently good and reasonably priced.
Delicious food, great atmosphere -made for a lovely evening, thanks!
I dined with my 2 adult daughters and we all agreed it was the best sunday roast we've had. The roast potatoes were crispy and there was plenty of them and all the vegetables were cooked perfectly. We sat in the bar and the atmosphere was lively but not too loud. Service was impeccable, staff were friendly and helpful.
Delicious food, friendly service and a reasonably priced meal - high recommend!
Great cheeseburger and fries. Just what we wanted. And we are from the burger capital of the world—Dallas, Texas.
The Horseshoe is a great pub in a great location. The staff are very welcoming and the dining area is small but stylish. We arrived in the evening for a Sunday roast which was almost certainly not one of our better ideas to be fair.
It was a large serving but the beef was cut a little too thin and quite fatty and the Yorkshire puddings were probably a few hours old so a bit dry. It felt a little as if we were getting the last of what was left of the day. And it could have all been warmer.
That said, if we’d gone for Sunday lunch, I feel sure we would have had a better meal so the comments above should be taken in that context.
Would we go again? Definitely. Although we would make different choices.
As a vegan I had my first Vegan roast which was great, just beware the yorkshire pudding isn't Vegan however- We had a great seat at the back by the window, a lovely sun trap with a view. Great service, Food, was a great portion size, presentation & so tasty! Would recommend
Really good Sunday Lunch and beer selection.
First time at the Horseshoe having come across it through Camden Brewery’s social media. Have to say it was the best Sunday roast I’ve had (beef). Girlfriend had the special (sea bass and samphire). I’m not one for taking the time to write reviews but this place was excellent and well worth a trip!! Plus they serve every Camden ale going!
Lovely venue- more restaurant than pub, we went for lunch with our baby and dog. The staff were very accommodating, and the food (and beers!) was fantastic.
Good food and good service
Atmosphere and food were lovely, and the staff was friendly (especially at the bar, where I was allowed to try some beers). Unfortunately our waitress knocked over our bottle of wine and never brought a new bottle over or gave us a discount which would have been fair.
The Horseshoe is one of three great pubs in Hampstead (the other two are the Holly Bush and the Duke of Hamilton). There is a great selection of beers, a really nice atmosphere on a hot evening with the big windows left open. I had a perfectly cooked steak (on the rare side of medium rare). It was well-rested and perfectly seasoned. The side of fries was a bowlful salty and crispy deliciousness. We had started of chicken wings (superb), padron peppers (we were probably going overboard on the salt) and smoked mackerel pate. All good.
Lively pub. Good service. Good location. Good experience.
Horse shoe has fabalous ambience and excellent ,welcoming staff.. Brunch was awesome.. I had vegan and my husband had beef roast. He told me it was by far best roast he had till date.. I liked Pimms and my husband enjoyed his beer
