The Hudson is the perfect place to eat, drink and socialise both for special occasions and everyday affairs. Hide away in one of our three hidden snugs or dine in style in our VIP area, perfect for larger parties.

The bar has a walk in policy so no need to book a table.

The restaurant itself fuses the buildings iconic elegance whilst remaining lively and welcoming to all guests. With delicious dishes ranging from our incredible selection on small plates, to our Classic Beef Burger, there's something for everyone.

    It was fine. Even though when booking informed was birthday this was not acknowledged. Food was average but good price for what it was. Typical hotel restaurant not hi by fancy.

    Was really looking forward to eating here had good feedback from friends unfortunately I didn’t feel the same about my experience. although the cubicle we sat in was perfect there was little to no atmosphere some background music would have been nice and I sat with my coat on for most of the night as did other people in the restaurant I could see, the food was ok. I definitely won’t be returning anytime soon.

    Have dined at the Hudson before and it was very good, hence our decision to go again, big mistake. They didn't have the starters or desserts we wanted and offered very limited alternative choices but main course was good. Service was dreadful, waited over 40 mins for dessert but had to leave before it came as we had a date at the theatre.

    terrible food, I ordered a course and had a not bad starter, however, the main dish, curry was terrible at its appearance and taste. the appearance looked like the awful contents of the food garbage box. the taste is just bad and no more or less. Compared to its other served food, the curry was the most awful so that I wondered who created the recipe and I wish I never come across it again in my trip.

    Disappointed in menu choice, wasn’t aware only Sunday menu. The length of time waiting for food to arrive.The lack of attention from staff from clearing the table to overall making sure diners we satisfied and ready for next course. Two members of our party had to ask when the main courses were arriving on two separate occasions.Our dining experience was acknowledged when the bill arrived we were given a slight discount and eventually an apology for the inconvenience which was appreciated.

    The restaurant was full of cooking smoke, obviously the extractors wore not working. The food was okay with a limited menu. It’s a shame as I’ve been before for Sunday lunch which was very good.

    Arrived for our booking table wasn't ready youn lady asked if we would like to go get a drink in the bar until it was ready, same lady came for us and took us to iutlr table staff were very attentive making sure we were OK. Drinks ordered then food. Food was absolutely lovely our favourite place to eat in Newcastle

    Absolutely lovely afternoon at the brunch with friends, staff were out of this world, so helpful, attentive and always checking we were ok. Been a while since I have had that level of service, I just wish I had remembered all of their names so I could name them personally and give them the recognition they so rightly deserved. Really well done Hudson for picking good staff. It was our first time and will most definitely be back! Thank you Hudson for a perfect afternoon

    Popular restaurant conviently located opposite the Central Station, reasonably priced food but not consistent ( some in the party were not very happy with how their dishes were served Luke warm, not properly cooked, while others were very happy!) Varied inexpensive menu and good selection of wines and drinks. However all brought down by lacklustre inattentive service from the waiting staff, a haughty attitude when enquiring if we could sit at the table 10 minutes before the booking time (although the table was empty) forcing us to stand in the very busy bar area where exceptionally loud music was playing which incidentally was still very audible in the dining area making conversation difficult! I will still return as personally my meal was good and the food is very good value for money.

    We were so looking forward to our meal , but it was very disappointing . The review of the burgers was excellent. I chose the Cambodian Peanut curry - which was just awful , no seasoning and no taste not even Peanut ! The pak choi was watery which made the whole thing inedible - I left it sadly and the menu made it sound lovely. The pasta was nothing special either and not much pesto The salad bowl was just kos lettuce and bits of tomato the chicken was gristly and tough and very little of the dressing . The bowl of loaded fries with duck was excellent . The cocktails were lovely. The staff very friendly but looked as though they were short staffed as I had to ask twice for stuff . All in all very disappointing and I couldn't recommend food to anyone based on our experience . The décor and seating was lovely so we may return for drinks .

    Was rather dissapointed this time tbh as little choice on the set menu now .When we got bill incorrectly charged twice for added extras and took three attempts to get a correct bill. Was our anniversary but would have been nice if this had been acknowledged.

    It was our first time eating at The Hudson and when we are back in Newcastle we will definitely to booking to go here again. The food was fresh and so tasty and plenty of it. We had souvlaki chicken skewers which has so much flavour then I had the best Sunday dinner ever and my husband had the salmon again excellent. The service was outstanding the waiter was very informative and all decently priced. So glad I found it and would highly recommend The Hudson if you are looking for a fresh delicious meal.

    Meal was really good, service rather disappointing. Every time we wanted a drink we had to catch a waitress attention, 4 times in fact, then after finishing our meal we never even got asked if we wanted a dessert, so ended up just leaving. Been here a few times before when much busier than last night with much better service. Also had breakfast there this morning which was shocking - stone cold, complained and waiter realised none of the hot plate warmers were on, so had to be reheated so then was all dried out. Not pleasant at all to be honest so we both left it and made do with toast. Yet still paid full price for 2 breakfasts upon check out at hotel

    Lovely place to eat - but had the flat bread and feel it went cold quickly dur to the size . In the restaurant everyone was place down one wall in a row . The music was a little loud when you had elderly people at the table . Service was great and attentive

    Came to The Hudson for the first time on restaurant week. The starters were lovely and good portions. We had a booth which was very comfortable and felt private. However, the mains were average. I had the cookie dough for dessert, assuming it would be slightly baked like I’ve had from other restaurants however was in fact just warmed dough, tasted of just pure sugar. The service was the worst part, we didn’t wait too long for food even though they had warned us on the wait but we always had to get someone’s attention and had to actually get up and find someone twice. We had a different server every time so no one knew what stage we were up to. We asked for the bill then immediately for the card reader however she never returned with it so we paid on the way out. We asked to remove the service charge due to the above and she asked us why! Which just felt awkward considering it is optional. Anyway we probably would return just not when it was so busy and maybe just for drinks

    From beginning to end this dining experience was appalling! We waited a very long time and one of the ladies had to leave because she needed to catch a train! She only ordered a cheeseburger and we chased this up and explained but had to leave without eating! Another lady specifically asked a waiter if she could have the chicken skewers as a main, to which he answered ‘yes I think we could do that’ when she received it it was a starter portion which was misleading and more concerning but one of the skewers was raw! The plate was taken away and no communication was offered! We chased it and the waitress just said that the chef said that there was nothing wrong with it!! At no point did the restaurant ever apologise once!! We were all taken back by the manageress’ replies to our concerns. She added it was restaurant week!!! One of our colleagues was up from London and I was quite embarrassed! I’ve been to hudsons many times and the food has always been great! They offered us 20% off the overall bill which also didn’t measure up. Our whole evening was ruined with talking about the shoddy service and lack of food serving! We all agreed it was the worst experience we’ve ever had in a restaurant!

    We had the Bottomless Brunch. It was fabulous,food,drinks,service & ambience. We came here on a mini hen do,bride to be & two mum’s. Great place to celebrate & would definitely recommend coming here for a special occasion. I for one,will be back. Thank you.

    Have been here before and would go again. Always a great atmosphere with both the bar and restaurant but to add to that the food is first class as is the staff. Always attentive, polite and makes you feel welcome. The place to go in Newcastle upon Tyne.

    Food was lovely however a small mistake with the bill which happens and wasn’t a big deal but the two waitresses blanked and ignored our thank yous as we left was rude and disappointing.

    Sadly not a good experience- started well but we ordered 2 flatbreads whilst my friend ordered a salad. The flatbreads were on the side waiting to be served for approx 10 mins and consequently were cold. My friends salad was fine but we sent ours back, told by the waitress that they would prepare fresh ones. We heard her order fresh ones at the kitchen pass and 15 mins later we were served our original flatbreads burned on the edge and with the bite out that we had taken. Also covered in fresh cucumber to hide the burned duck. We had booked in advance, the restaurant was empty and the manager didn’t even come to speak to us. I went over to speak to them and expressed our disappointment that they were given the opportunity to fix the issue and wasted not only our time but gave us a rather bad taste in our mouths. My friend said the salad was nice but not being able to eat as a table on a special occasion was incredibly poor and after being given the opportunity to fix it and reheating 2 x £15 flatbreads - it was just shocking - We will not be back.
