The Imperial Tandoor

Our dinner was delicious and the service was excellent also. One minor item was they were out of the wine that we chose from their wine list. It is a fabulous wine and we were delighted to see it on the list, only to be disappointed that they had none in stock. Otherwise, the dinner was excellent!

Amazing, authentic food. We have been several times but took friends of ours for the first time and they were all super impressed.

When my wife and I moved north to get away from the city our only fear was leaving fine international dining behind. Thankfully this has not been the case. We travel an hour to peterborough from Fenelon Fallls exclusively to dine at the imperial tandoor. This establishment exceeds our expectations every visit. It is not on par with Indoan restaurants in toronto it surpasses them.
Go there and see for yourself. Authentic south indian cuisine at its finest. Tim K

We loved this place! My son and I have gluten and dairy allergies but we were able to eat safely, which is rare. Everything was amazing! Definitely recommend!

We always enjoy our time there. One little request my husband suggested, because does not drink, was to serve non alcoholic Beck's or Heineken in bottles. It being an above average restaurant, serving non alcoholic beer in a can is not as attractive as having it in a bottle.

Tandoor has been one of my favourite restaurants since they’ve opened! All of their dishes are absolutely amazing! They always have great staff. The owners are very sweet people and are always so happy to greet you. The ambience is very nice. Love the decor! Highly recommend.

Amazing authentic Indian food. Try a few different plates - the flavours are layered - so good.

The food was well spiced. Wonderful flavours. Great chicken curry Wth just the right amount of heat. The Lamb Sheek kabbab was a perfect accompaniment. The Saffron rce was cooked perfectly and the raita Cooled the palette. The coriander naan was delicious too. Our favourite restaurant of all time.

THe dining room lends a special ambiance. However, during Covid, we chose to eat on the patio.

I've been to the Tandoor several times and never had a bad meal. It's sets the new bar by which all other Peterborough, Ontario restaurants are to be judged ! The ethnicity of the cuisine is never compromised ! Those who attend this establishment must know in advance that ethnic quality is never compromised here!

We enjoy The Imperial Tandoor a lot and will certainly be coming back, but on this particular occasion, the food was particularly long in arriving.

As much as the food was delicious I don't think I would go with a set menu again.

We don't always need appetizers or dessert.

Simply some of the best food we have had. We live about 45 minutes away, but try to get here as often as we can.
I recommend the Dal Makhani.... so good I dream of it!
Their Samosa and butter chicken is also the best I have eaten.
My husband and I are usually weary about recommending restaurants to others as they seem to always have the bad experience, but this is one of the ones we NEVER hesitate to recommend. The only other ones are out of this province!

The restaurant is pleasant and the customer service was very good. The food was tasty but overall the menu is VERY expensive for what you get. For example, we ordered the shrimp curry for $21.95. There were only 7 small shrimp in the entire dish. I am a red seal chef and these shrimp were probably size 31-40; the dish consisted of mostly sauce. I understand that restaurant prices had to go up because of the increase to minimum wage (which I fully support) but I felt that many items were very overpriced; especially the vegetarian ones You also had to purchase rice separately, when at other Indian restaurants it is included.

It’s great that vegan dishes are clearly marked and there is lots of choice. The server was very helpful recommending a vegan bread. We had a lovely meal!

Lovely restaurant, clean, and cozy atmosphere. Excellent staff, friendly and very knowledgeable on the menu. Clearly marked Gluten Free and Vegan or Vegetarian dishes. Delicious food, generous portions. Would recommend!

Lovely dining, but I would have liked more Indian ambiance, music, decor.

A friendly helpful staff. We enjoyed a quiet atmosphere where we could visit and celebrate a special wedding anniversary with our daughter and son-in-law.

Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Professional, knowledgeable and helpful service. Portions are on the large side. Plenty of vegetarian options. I would definitely come back as I would like to try some of the other items on the menu!

This was our 3rd visit and on previous ones we found the lamb biryani too hot (spicy), so we asked for a mild spice for the biryani on this visit. Everything ordered was very good but the biryani was still spiced on the high end of medium, despite our request.

Great service, great food! My only recommendation would be for them to offer the ability to order a combo platter, so you can try more than one dish per visit.

A very nice atmosphere for dinner with family or friends. Our meal was delicious. It is a little pricey for Indian food but everyone seemed to be leaving with leftovers. Totally recommend it!

This was our second time for dinner, it was as good as the first, the food was very good, there was lots of food, we ended taking some home in the containers they supplied, and our server Lance was off the charts good, very friendly & knowledgeable, he explained all the dishes to us & made some great suggestions, highly recommended.
