Wonderful dinner with my family. I will return in the future
Great place for brunch. Prices a bit on the high side for Eau Claire. We are from the Twin Cities and liked this place because it has some unique foods. Nice to see an upscale place in EC!
Had a great breakfast. Eggs Benedict was a hit. We’ll be back.
Paid 25 dollars for a small bowel of noodles with some slightly melted butter and 3-4 tiny crumbles of shrimp.
Great atmosphere, impeccable service, and the food was phenomenal! The attention to detail from our server was above and beyond, we honestly never had a better experience elsewhere. We can't wait to come back for more date nights!
Excellent ambiance! The scallop dish and crostini was incredible. The pizza was a bit overcooked but still really good. The brunch we ordered to our room was excellent too and very fresh-even the ketchup was homemade!
I felt the cost of my meal was rather pricey but the quality was good, and better than most other local restaurants for the same meal.
Fun place - waiter was decent - awkward at times. Pizza was overpriced.
Great customer service!!! Good price for the quality!!!! Would go here again!!!
Great service and atmosphere. Fantastic food and drinks! I highly recommend The Informalist!
Great restaurant. One of the few that didn’t rush me by giving me the bill too early.
Exceptional service from start to finish. Food was delicious and the server was kind and attentive.
I have told everyone how wonderful this place is and was. We had an app, dinner, and cheesecake.....Best Food Ever.
Try the carrots
:)
Service was very slow.
Salads were very good.
Brussel sprouts were tasty but absolutely swimming in olive oil.
Chicken curry with rice was good.
Vegetable gumbo was awful. It had absolutely zero heat or noticeable spices, and the tomato paste flavor was overwhelming. They need an entirely new recipe if they are going to serve this dish.
The rice was excellent with both dishes.
The cheesecake was decent.
The coffee was bitter and way too strong (obviously sitting and warming for way too long).
This time we had a great experience. WE avoided this establishment for over six months after the day manager was rude, and our food was not delivered for an hour. The resturant was empty at the time as it was after the lunch crowd.
last night we had a very attentive waiter, food came out in good time and was very yummy. Glad we came back.
This was a great find in Eau Clarie Wisconsin. The charcuterie board was worth every penny. And the pheasant gnocchi was a dream. I had never eaten pheasant before always wanted to try and the waiters recommendation made it mouth watering and it was. This the one real find in this neck of the woods. what can i say great food, great service.
Great service, food and experience. Only complaint was the noise level was too high.
Seating was a bit “close”! But thinned out over the evening.
Had to ask for H2O frequently...hmmmm?🤔
Service otherwise very attentive...
Food was Awesome!!!
Menu Offerings were diversified!!!
And desert was to die for!
The waiter even went over the top to flavor our coffee.
Our “out of town” guests were raving!
Thanks for a great night!
I love eating here with their ever changing menu. Their wood fired pizza is so delicious and they offer so many unique combinations! They also have a drink and wine list that can’t be beat.
FIrst time in Eau Claire, visiting from Minneapolis, and we were pleasantly surprised by the dining experience. The menu was varied and creative; portions were generous to the point of almost being double what I would expect in a "big city" (wherein the more you pay, the smaller the portion?), and prices were super wallet friendly! Would definitely recommend!
The service was good, would have been nice to been given time to look at the drink and wine menu for more than three minutes with being asked twice if we were ready yet.
Appetizers of Salmon cakes, Hush puppies and fries were great.
Main meal was Ribeye steak. It was good not great. The knives are very dull so hard to cut. A lot of fat was on the cuts. The potatoes were very good.
Dessert was good as well. The apple crisp should have been warmed up before putting the ice cream on it. Then it would have been great. We did ask if the desserts were made in house. The reply was yes but down the street at the local bakery. Okay so that means no.
Wouldn’t rush back. Glad we tried this place again. Maybe the burgers and pizza would be a better dinner.
A $22 Manhatten-really?
Food was good. Service wasn’t. I’ve typically been pleased with both elements, but despite the slow pace, service was poor.
This was my boyfriend and I’s first time at The Informalist and we will for sure be back! Every ounce of food was worth the price, and we were so happy with our selections
Service and staff were fine. The food was extremely average. The menu lacks anything that is special.
The atmosphere lacks any kind of warmth or excitement.
My boyfriend and I went to eau Claire for the weekend and wanted a special date night. The informalist didn’t disappoint. Good food and atmosphere. Our serve was friendly but didn’t visit often. Will be back
It was a fine place to eat, but I did not realize it was a hotel restaurant, thought it would have more charm than it did. Again, fine, but not my style nor did I think worth the price.
Terrible food and service
This restaurant is a "hidden gem" in Eau Claire.
This was a great place to have a business dinner. The noise level was just right. Space between tables was perfect. The service was perfect. The drink menu/variety was great. I would have appreciated one walleye entre on the menu and maybe another beef item, i.e. 8 ounce rib eye/Filet.
The Currie Chicken entre was great. It was a welcomed unique aspect to the menu.
Food took along time to come.. ( lost our order), however compensated. Wonderful place.
We made a reservation and noted that it was for a birthday. This was not acknowledged by the restaurant. Why ask? The food was ok. Hush puppies and pizza are always good but I ordered a curry dish with chicken “meatballs” and when it came there were no meatballs only slices of chicken breast. Besides the lack of meatballs, the dish itself wasn’t notable. Service was overall good but our server seemed to forget about us towards the end of the meal and left us waiting for the check for at least 10 minutes. This is one of the best restaurants in town as far as ambiance goes - they need to make sure their service and food is also some of the best.
Best meal I've had in some time! Beet hummu and pita platter for a starter - pita was warm perfection, the platter was visually appealing. I had the vegan veggie burger with fries and a small salad. I was stuffed, but couldn't stop eating. Partner had the curry. We split a bottle of merlot. Happiness. Go.
We went just for dessert before going to a play at The Pablo. Only disappointment was they were out of one item. But the others were very good.
While always an interesting menu (sometimes just a tad too interesting) the problem is that food is often not hot or doesn't taste great. Service and wine was fantastic.
What a delightful experience. I specifically sought out a luncheon site that included a large selection of vegan/gluten-free options. I was not disappointed. The meal was colorful, prepared to our specifications and delicious. Our server, Emerson, is an excellent emissary for the restaurant. He was welcoming, prompt, knowledgeable and quick to offer suggestions. On the one occasion where he was unfamiliar with specific ingredients of a newer menu item, he immediately went to the kitchen for clarification and quickly returned with an answer.
This was, without questions, a perfect dining experience.
I'll be returning to The Informalist soon and often.
Great food and atmosphere
Fathers Day Brunch was outstanding in every aspect of a great dining experience. The food was delicious! We ordered omlets, breakfast pizza, traditional, Brussels sprouts. We all sampled every dish. Excellent service! We are from the west coast and next time we are in town, we will be back!
Amazing, everything was perfect we had a great time
Bridget and the rest of the staff rocked. We had several guests show up late and their food came out shortly after the rest of us. This place killed it!!!
Exceeded expectations. Stopped in for brunch on Mother’s Day. Hostess was gracious. Promptly seated. Service was on point and the food was excellent. Was very pleased with our experience. Will be back soon.
