The Inn at Pound Ridge by Jean-Georges
Avocado, Radish, Ginger Marinade
Crispy Salmon Sushi
Chipotle Mayonnaise and Soy Glaze
Citrus-Chili Emulsion and Cilantro
Four but for the price expected a five plus.
Showed up just as it started raining and staff was scurrying to shuffle outdoor chairs... forgetting the guests waiting to be seated. Then we were seated in a small area off the main room. While tables were six feet apart I wasn’t comfortable knowing we would be there for several hours in a smaller space.
A nearby table had two loud children. I know this is a challenge for the restaurant. Do you say something and offend one table or let multiple tables become annoyed. This is not a restaurant for infants or toddlers.
Service was very pleasant but the server seemed to have too many tables and the pause between being seated, getting drinks, appetizer, and main course was excessive. For the price timing should be perfect.
But, the rib eye for two was possibly the best piece of meat I’ve ever eaten.
Great food. Lovely ambiance. And I’ll give the service challenges a pass due to the many COVID challenges.
Highly recommend the chicken Milanese and mozz and basil pizza. Skip the butternut squash soup and the salmon. Service was extremely slow, tables didn’t seem to have a dedicated waiter. Perhaps an off day, with someone calling out. Ambiance was exceptional w patio seating accompanied by heat lamps.
The food is always delicious, the staff is always great and the ambiance couldn't be better!
Food was excellent, but most of it was cold and service very slow
Absolutely disgusting! Service was terrible beyond words, the waitress was nowhere to be found at all times! Food was even worse than terrible! It was inedible, out of six dishes that we ordered 2 were ok, the rest my dog wouldn’t eat it! Tea and coffees were cold when we got it! Cutlery and cups were dirty! And a cherry on top: “by mistake” they added a bottle of wine to our bill that we didn’t order and that costs $80, luckily I noticed it! Not coming back ever and you should stay away also! McDonald’s has tastier food than this place! And advice to Jean George’s: close your restaurants, wait for pandemic to be over then maybe reopen, but at this point this is robbery! My husband and I had an anniversary there, and we left with very bad tastes in our mouths! Food disgusting, service beyond poor, and cheating on our bill!!! Disgusting! Shame on you!!!
Went for my 5 year anniversary and we have the absolute best dinner. This is the best restaurant in all of Westchester hands down. A must visit. Also felt very safe with all of their Covid protocol. If i could give them TEN stars I would! Can’t wait to come back.
Still an amazing place to dine on fabulous food even during these Covid restrictions. Thank you IPR.
Amazing. Great food and ambiance.
The ambience was wonderful. The food magnificent and the service superb!
All of our food came at once. I hate when appetizers and entrees arrive at the same time. It should be spaced out and the good gets cold. The service was okay - had to keep looking for and asking our waiter for things and to remove plates since there were so many as we completed dishes. Fairly disappointed given it’s a Jean Georges restaurant.
Great to have a representative restaurant in Westchester from Jean-George V group, with excellent standards and food. Impeccable!
Service was poor staff distracted order was incorrect and food did not arrive. Food was also cold when served at the table.
Food was good but a bit short of expectations, given the enormous expectations that perhaps weren’t achievable. The Covid set up was bothersome, making us sit on the same side of a booth, which made no sense in context of how others were sitting.
Service was ok, but were out of several items (on a Saturday) and had to ask for bread.
Server did not seem on top of things and forgot about certain drinks and food we had ordered. Given the minimal amount of tables, we expected more, especially with the name and price tag.
Everything was good besides waiting time to be seated (30) minutes and waiting to get any food. Another 30 minutes...
The food and service were both disappointing for a JG restaurant.
We waited almost for 50 min even we had reservation. The food was ok, nothing special. The bread was hard and not fresh. Because of us waiting for so long for our table they gave us complimentary cookie, and we didn’t even touch it, because we don’t eat desserts. Very disappointed, not coming back
The service was terrible we had a reservation and had to wait 45 minutes and when asking how long the wait was she was very rude. Then we were sat and it took 30 minutes for someone to take the drinks order. After that we promptly order food and the appetizers came before the drinks even. When the drinks finally came they were wrong and had to be sent back. The appetizers were the best part of the meal they were quite good. The service continued to be terrible as we never saw our waitress from the time she took our food order till after we finished our meal. We ran out of water for a very long time we had to constantly wave down other people to help us. The main course was nothing special especially for the prices. All of the entries were over seasoned and not in a pleasant way. The seasonings did not match the food we ordered and were simply not very pleasant. Then desserts were also a Big disappointment. One of us ordered the big chocolate chip cookie expecting it to be a little more than just a cold cookie on a plate For $10 but that’s what it was. We tried a couple of the other desserts which were also not worth the price. All around the experience was disappointing. Food was not great especially for the price and the service was awful.
The time from seated to drink ordering drinks was over 10 minutes. So 15 minutes to get a drink. Bad.
Served cold doughy bread. Requested it he warmed up. Server said kitchen wouldn’t do it. We asked that Chef Ron he told of our request. Bread was then warmed, and was transformed to delicious. So simple.
Otherwise all was good.
Enjoyed a great experience.
Overpriced cafeteria food.
Went there for the 2nd time to celebrate our wedding anniversary and was so disappointed with how overpriced and poor the food was. (First time -the food was much better - so was excited to come back!)
My husband has the calamari as his app which was over salted and terrible. I had the salmon crispy rice which was good.
For entrees, I had a $32 chicken breast with mash potatoes/spinach. It was the blandest and most underwhelming chicken I have ever had. The pricing on top of that was ridiculous.
My husband had the beef tenderloin- which was the smallest $42 piece of meat we have seen in awhile and was tasteless.
The service was even disappointing where we didn’t get our 2nd glass of wine until after we finished our meal. Which we ended up sending back the wine.
Sad to say we didn’t want to give them anymore of our money so we skipped dessert and went somewhere else.
Overall, highly disappointed on how over priced this was. If you are looking for fine dining would not recommend.
It was outstanding. The food was great and the seating was wonderful.
We loved eating outside and got to enjoy the end of a beautiful evening by going much earlier than we would usually dine (5:30).
This restaurant is absolutely amazing. The service is on point, and the food is to dream about.
Not up to pre pandemic. The smallest lobster i have ever seen!
Decor and ambiance are top notch. Service is informal but very good. Average cocktails and fair food. Nothing to complain (other than slightly overdone salmon and burger), but nothing to write home about either. Probably the least remarkable meal I've had in any of Jean-Georges Vongerichten's restaurants in the last 20 years. I wouldn't recommend it and probably won't go back.
Sadly not worth the hype. The Inn at Pound Ridge curated by a Michelin star chef does not live up to the hype. Fastest meal we’ve had at a “top restaurant”. Oh where to begin...screaming kids, heavily salted food (had to send back the appetizer twice), tarnished silverware. Very unfortunate. Entrees were edible but not worth the drive. Desserts were unimaginative. One and done. #innatpoundridge
Difficult time to do a review due to the COVID restrictions. As you would expect, the ambiance was nice but lacking in atmosphere. The staff are very attentive and accommodating and the food is excellent.
The Inn at Pound Ridge is my all time favorite restaurant. The food is delicious, the menu is varied, and the drinks are amazing (cucumber martini tops the list for me). The outdoor dining spacious is beautiful, and the indoor dining and event space has several different settings that transform you into a different world.
The Inn at Pound Ridge is one of our favorite restaurants; the food is fantastic and we usually love the atmosphere. We’ve been twice since the pandemic, and sat outside both times. The food continues to be good, but the service has been very slow - possibly due to understaffing during these unusual circumstances. We’ll be back when everything reopens, but I think we’ll hold off going again until then.
Rolls soggy and no taste. Service very slow. Waited 45 minutes for main course. Tuna tartare and salmon sushi excellent. No reasonably priced wines
Food excellent, so well spiced. Decor a little thrown off by the "gates /bars" we sat at the back of the bar area. We sat in a booth and needed to move the benches to reach the table but in this covid time it is what it is.
Service very good but the waiter a bit sullen, should have told us they did not have pizza when I asked if there were any specials, not when I was ready to order.
Had the sushi and steamed shrimp great dishes, a great combo, wife had the salmon and was very happy with it.
Problem with Open Table I am sure we reserved for that night but Open table had us a week later. Actually I went on the open table web site that same nite to see if I could make a time change and they said nothing available for 2.5 hours after the time we wanted BUT they had plenty of tables available for at least an hour after we arrived. The reception desk was very good and helpful rearranging the proper date of our reservations noted they had a few people with the same issue.
Absolutely will go back loved the food and casual atmosphere
Last Saturday night the temperature dropped into the low 50s and even high 40s. We had an outside table, but we were able to move inside before we got too cold!
Hard to believe that the management had not ordered heaters in anticipation of colder weather!
Food was good, not great. Menu is limited, understandably. However, no seasonal changes. Service was quick and efficient. We had a nice bottle of Spanish Rioja.
The kale salad and the cookie were inedible and our table smelled like manure. The hamburger and the calamari were both great. Service was solid as well. At the end of the day, not worth the money.
Server was amazing and even remembered us from our visit a few weeks ago - so kind and accommodating! Enjoyed every moment of our dining experience!
Excellent as always !
The Inn used to be much better years ago. The food was decent but way too expensive for what was offerred. For the prices charged, there are far better restaurants.
It took 30 minutes for our waiter to ask us for drinks. When he did he requested the entire order. Our appetizers came out before our drinks. The appetizers were ice cold and look like they had been sitting in a refrigerator all day. Our waiter was missing for most of the night as we had to ask other people’s waiters for a drink. We have had way better meals in Brooklyn for way less money with much better service.
Never disappoints. Thank you.
