I took my granddaughter for her 18th birthday. What an amazing experience for her and my other granddaughter. We were all made to feel very welcome. food was amazing and drinks were really special. The Ivy even brought out a profiterole with a candle in.

Being greeted at the door by a very sad looking lady, for over a month we have been trying to arrange 2 tables next to each other . On arrival we were told that we couldn’t sit together resulting in our children sitting at the other end of the restaurant even though there was an empty table next to ours the whole time we were at the restaurant, food was poor value and staff didn’t have time for anyone. My brother in laws steak was sent back 3 times Aaron it wasn’t cooked the way he asked, resulting in us all finishing our food before him. On a positive note the doormen were so friendly and very happy.

Steak sent back 3 times as not cooked as requested, resulting in one of our party eating alone as our other guests had finished their main course! We were offered a free dessert for our guest, however when the bill arrived their dessert was itemised!!! We did not question this as we had not had a good experience and just wanted to leave, Our reservation was for 9 people celebrating a “50th” birthday Unfortunately we shall not be rushing back to The Ivy. Cardiff.

Have been waiting to experience eating at The Ivy for ages and finally got my dream eating experience. Loved it, the decor, the menu, all worth waiting for. Drinks were a little expensive, but it was the food and ambiance we went for and it didn't disappoint. I cannot wait to go again. If I could afford it I would be there every week. Thank you for a lovely day.

Love the decor but food was underwhelming with the exception of the crispy duck salad. Prawn cocktail was not very tasty and mostly lettuce. Paid £34 for the rib eye steak which was very mediocre, and did not come with any accompaniments or sides, so very poor value for money. Lobster linguine was tasty but resembled a reheated frozen meal. Music is far too loud for a dining experience.

I'm a regular with good reason, always a pleasure to visit The Ivy. Good food, service and cocktails. Great menu selection for vegetarians and vegans, so always feel you can equally enjoy food in mixed company.

Booked a table for 2 pm was told table not ready , was asked to stay at the bar for a drink after queuing to get in , I asked would we have a complimentary drink they refused . Ordered chicken milanese with truffle cream sauce , was served with mayonnaise in a jug , I asked and waitress said it was mayonnaise veg though the menu said truffle cream sauce .

Food was great except for my fish and chips. The chips were perfect but the batter on the fish was soggy and sloppy and the fish wet. I didn’t say anything at the time as I was with a friend and I didn’t want to make a fuss. It was disappointing and my local chip shop does a better job at a fraction of the cost. The soggy batter was disguised with water cress.

Had a wonderful birthday at the ivy, the staff were excellent and very friendly. The food was generally great, though the chips did taste reheated, it was a very small blip on an otherwise very enjoyable evening.

Was shown to the bar as was told that the table was not ready. After 20 minutes I complained and was shown to a table which had been empty for some time. Had I not complained I am sure that we would have been kept at the bar Indefinitely. Two members of staff said a manager would come and speak to us. I physically saw one member of staff speaking to the manager, however he chose not to come and speak to us. It ruined what would otherwise have been a nice evening

Had a really enjoyable meal, but surprised at how little choice there was for low or no alcohol drinks. There was a good choice of cocktails, but only one lager, and no ales or ciders. Surprising. Other than that, really good experience.

We eat here regularly. It’s really very good and we will return soon. We had a lovely meal and have no real complaints. Some minor issues: my wife’s starter was a tad salty. My scallops a little cold. No side plates provided for the sour dough bread which made it cumbersome to eat. The main course arrived far too quickly after the starter. We had finished two courses within 50 minutes.
