The Ivy in the Park
Food was very poor, service absolutely shocking. I did not expect this of the ivy. As we frequently go to the branch in St Albans.
The building is stunning, food average however. Good atmosphere.
Very friendly staff. Great food. Lovely location.
Will come back.
Staff were not very attentive, difficult to attract their attention on several occasions. Wrong main was delivered and the waiter thought I was joking when I said it was not what I’d ordered! It was rectified quickly though. Food was mediocre.
Poor service really spoiled what was excellent food.
It seemed that our waitress either didn't hear us or didn't understand us very well. EIther way - it appeared to be our fault as when we had to correct her she was also quite blunt and apathetic - which was frustrating.
I explained on arrival that one of our party would join us for dessert - so at the end of our meal. She left us waiting to order until the table next to us - who arrived after us, were on their main courses. We had to ask to order drinks and food to which she said "I thought you were waiting for someone". We had to ask again to order dessert - checking with her if we should order coffee at the same time - which arrived well before the actual course.
Our drinks order was supposed to be two glasses of wine and an orange and cranberry juice, we got one glass of wine and a cranberry juice... asking for the second glass of wine her response was "you didn't say it clearly"... It wasn't just our table either - the couple next to us asked her if she could refill the salt, she turned from the table took the top off, stuck her finger in, put the top back on and handed it back saying simply "it's full" and walking away... (!)
The food itself was excellent, well presented, high quality and delicious - as you would expect from this brand. Sadly our waitress rather ruined what should have been a celebratory lunch for my work team who were reuniting for the first time after lockdown. I'm in two minds about recommending the place, the toilet's smelled strongly of BO - but it was a very hot and humid day but also possibly because of the hike to get to them from the restaurant... The decor is lovely but the table hadn't been properly wiped from the previous service. The food both beautiful and delicious... sadly spoiled by the service.
The food, ambience and service were outstanding.
Two issues: 1. I arrived on time, but had to wait 10 minutes to be seated.
2. Once I was seated no one came to see me for five minutes. I had a ask the managed for assistance. Once a waiter was assigned to me, the service was superb.
I enjoyed it so much, I made another reservation.
Food was delicious.
However the service was not good. Waiters did not pay any attention to us. We had to wait long time to even get a menu. At the end the bill was mistaken. They had extra drinks added to the bill by mistake. After we returned the bill they amended it and there were still drinks added that we did not order. We didn't even get an apology and the waiter started mumbling and making silly jokes.
We had great service and amazing food. Cannot fault it and every time I have visited it has been consistent. Wine recommendation was also spot on.
We had a great time, the service was first class with superb food, I especially liked the crisp duck salad that I had as a starter. One of our group was having her birthday and a small cake was presented towards the end of the meal which was a nice touch. We will definitely visit again.
Temperature taken. Good covid precautions. Seated straightaway. Very nice waitress. Lovely food. Definitely recommend.
Service is fair . The lobster linguini is overpriced at 33 quid each . Only pieces of lobster claws served.
This was our third visit, each time the food was less good. Also, dirty steps going to the loo (not too clean either). Shall visit once more just to check...
The service was very slow. Waiting nearly an hour for our food when the table next to us arrived later, received food and drink and left before our food had arrived.
Despite finishing our food, it took nearly 30 minutes for our plates to be cleared. Then when we requested the bill there was another delay and the restaurant was pretty empty at this point.
Great evening, definitely recommend. Awesome cocktail selection.
We enjoyed the dinner overall. However the service was very slow, our dinner stretched to 3hrs; luckily the setting was lovely so we didn’t mind terribly.
I could tell the waitress who served us was new. She forgot to replace the cutlery every course and our drinks too, but I observed the evening was busy and she really was working hard and tried her best; so I am more forgiving towards any mishap. Plus I know there is shortage of staffs everywhere.
The food was definitely above average, so it’s a safe pick for good dining experience.
Beautiful decor inside and outside (ground floor and upstairs terrace) welcomed with open arms and got to pick where we sat, food was surprisingly the best food I’ve had in years! (Monkfish and prawn curry/Peruvian Roast chicken) also had dessert which was tasty! The 3 of us got a bottle of Prosecco to share which turned out to be Bottega (Gold) Top quality highly recommended. Close to Canary Wharf and 2 minutes walk away from river view!
They food was absolutely delicious, the tuna carpaccio was fantastic, however the lobster linguine too expensive for such a small portion of pasta and lobster. Otherwise everything was fine.
We had Junior as our waiter who was very nice and helpful! Food was great, good quality, big portions and value for money! Would come here again!
It was good experience. The food was nice. Would recommend it to those who like booze.
Food is very basic, cocktails are nice- service could have been better
Service was extremely poor. Waited ten minutes to be seated, even though we were seen multiple times by staff. No-one apologised for the wait.
Waited a long while for someone to take our drinks order, and then waited quite a while for our drinks to arrive.
Staff didn't seem very friendly or interested in talking to us. I appreciate it was hot yesterday, but it felt as we were burden to them and they would have preferred for us not to have been there.
Had some great food and very attentive service. The staff were great and weren’t overbearing! We had a quick business lunch and the food was really tasty and nicely presented.
Went for late breakfast was really nice
Was friendly and not too busy as lunch hadn’t started
Love this Ivy. Always great food and friendly staff. Highly recommend. x
Tyra made our evening very enjoyable, excellent level of service and a great attitude
Great restaurant nice staff food great value will come again
A couple of issues with our visit to the Ivy Canary Wharf.
The main one was that the service was a bit confused to begin with. We ordered a bottle of rosé which was not forthcoming. I queried it with a waitress and she confirmed it would be on its way. Next she came back and said it wasn’t available and did I want to make an alternative choice, which I did. Then about 10 minutes later The Maitre D’ turned up and explained that “because of Brexit” they didn’t have any of the more inexpensive wines left and did I want a pricier rosé (I did not). We ended up with a very nice white but it just seemed sloppy and I was surprised (and a bit sceptical) to be told that Brexit meant half the wines weren’t available. We could have been informed of a lack of wine at the start. It took more than half an hour before we had any wine at all.
We expect things to be smoother at the Ivy.
Good food, however disastrous service, got starters before any drinks came, (unable to supply any rose wine we chose for between £30 & £40) so only £59 one available. Had to order ghe wine 4 times before it came. It took 1 hour and 45 minutes before we could even get our main courses ordered. It was a special birthday celebration and went with friends so very upset.
Great venue, amazing service, expensive but worth it for the experience
First time going. Had a Lovely experience. Fish and chips was superb!
We chose outside. It was very hot. We moved inside. I suggest you use umbrellas at times outdoors if possible.
It was wonderful, I will come back the food is delicious and we have to try all the menu.
The waiter's were very descriptive when we were asking about the food and drink options, they took time and catered to our needs continuously throughout the evening. They did a lovely small birthday desert for me with a candle in, small things go a long way! Loved our evening date here. Definitely recommend.
High quality food.
Kind friendly efficient service
I have been to the original Ivy before, a classic London institution. This was my second time to the new version in Canary Wharf and it didn't disappoint.
The food was great, the service excellent with that stylish touch that the Ivy do so well. The atmosphere was lovely and the decor interesting and beguiling. I'll be back.
Food was lovely, waiters are extremely helpful at making recommendations. Music was a bit too loud. All Waiters were wearing masks at all times which was amazing
Perfect table on a sunny day
Anniversary dinner. Good service, lovely meal. Art Deco.
Beautiful venue and the food was lovely. Service good and staff was brilliant. We will definitely be back probably around Xmas time x
Incredible food, excellent service and wonderful atmosphere! Love our time at the Ivy’s, as always.
