Very accommodating and busy - what lockdown?! Only markdown is due to the late table booking and having to rush through orders to get us out by 10pm, but that is hardly the restaurant's fault :)
Delicious food but very noisy venue - felt like a nightclub. Service friendly but distant. Been for lunch several times and it’s absolutely lovely so maybe the evening vibe is less to my personal taste.
The food came very fast, (too fast!) with no much time to breath between starter and main. They also forgot to bring our wine, I had to remind the waiter to get it while we were half way through our meal.
Then, when we asked the waiter if we could wait 10 mins to order dessert, he checked his watch and told us that it won’t be possible because they need to table in about 15 mins.
I understand that because of COVID, we have limited seating time, but 1.5h is a bit short for a 3 course meal dinner, I would expect 2h, like most restaurants do.
We then got the bill brought to our table saying that we need to pay as they need the table, when I barely finished my dessert and cocktail.
Overall, the atmosphere and the food was very good but being rushed has ruined the whole experience for me.
Delicious food, beautiful interior and decent service - although we did feel very rushed out at the end. We only had an hour and a half for the table, but service was slow.
I have visited many of the other IVY branches but Soho was a first for me and like its counterparts, it excelled in food, service and setting. I always know that I am going to have a superb meal when I visit the IVY which is why I keep going back!!
Had my birthday lunch here and we had the best time. The vegan and veggie options were excellent and the food was so tasty and beautifully presented! The service friendly and professional.... loved it and can’t wait to go back when they reopen
Was a very nice experience with a great ambience and exceptional service,
Menu wasn’t clear about sides or if anything came with the mean but overall was a very lovely evening.
Fast, friendly and high quality service. I’ve never been disappointed with this fantastic venue.
Great place for a date!
Initially, food and service was as good as other branches I’ve eaten in. My guest was going to have cheese; instead we were presented with the bill, as we had used our allocated time. Experience would have been better, if we’d have been asked when main course plates were removed, if we wanted dessert, and made aware of how much time was left.
The food was incredible as were all the wait staff. They were all very polite and friendly. However, there was one man who was quite rude. When we were about to order dessert I was told the table was needed soon, so I promptly ordered and waited. When it came the man also bought the bill over without it being asked for or being asked if we wanted more drinks or a coffee etc. This was not a massive issue though as we didn't want anything else. The rude part was that while I was mid way through eating he came over with the card machine again without being asked while I had a mouthful of food. When asked if I could finish my dessert first he said he needed the table again. Our table was booked at 5:30pm, we arrived on time, ordered at the first time of asking and didn't not take too long to eat so it seems that the booking slots were not long enough as being 'kicked out' midway through a course is just not on. As soon as I had finished my dessert we had to leave which was not a pleasant feeling and would've been much nicer to sit for a few minutes to allow the food to settle. Being offered a seat at the bar would've sufficed but that was not given either. However, I do recommend as the food was brilliant as was everything else. This was just a bit of a downer at the end.
The Ivy never fails to deliver and impress. Great locations offering splendid food providing great value in regards to price. And everything is delightfully topped off with great customer service and attentive staff as always. Been to multiple of the Ivy’s multiple times and they never disappoint
Food is fantastic, the restaurant is lovely, sadly the service wasn’t very good. There wasn’t much notice taken, we kept having to ask for things, was a shame. Also in the bathroom there were industrial sized hand wash bottles, it looked a mess.
Second visit to the Soho restaurant this time was slightly different due to Covid but all the same it was a great experience. We were shown to a good table to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday. Waitress was most attentive without being in your face and as before the food was excellent and the atmosphere was buzzy!
A lovely lunch - outside but sheltered and perfect for a Covid friendly catch up. It felt special and stylish and the inside ambience was lovely too, very warm feeling with nice lighting and a general hum of chat, it was busy and bustling but still felt quite chilled for a Sunday
Food was tasteless . Overrated
One of the nicest meals I’ve eaten out in a while, great service and lovely staff, food was to die for
As always The Ivy Soho Brasserie delivered. We booked an outside table for brunch and inspire of the rain we had a lovely meal. The heaters and table hand sanitiser was a nice touch.
Music was far to loud to have a conversation during dinner. The waiter was asking us questions whilst we were eating regarding next course and wine etc. It was quite off putting.
We had a fantastic time; the service was excellent-Tina is brilliant; the food was exquisite; the ambience was amazing; we will definitely be coming back; Xx
The Halloween cocktails were amazing! We loved the Hotel STARLINO, Cazcabel and CUT RUM cocktails in particular.
Wide ranging menu - really is something for everyone - but you cannot beat the Shepherds Pie, it is delicious. Good selection of wines and relaxing ambience, but 'buzzy'. In the COVID-19 era even in late October the terrace with heaters was perfectly comfortable to spend a few hours at. There isn't an Ivy I have visited that I didn't enjoy, but I do particularly like the Soho venue.
Always great service. It would be great to see more alternative options on the lunch menu - dairy-free, for example.
The food is delicious. Blackened Cod was beautifully cooked. If you have dessert make sure you have the apple tart. It was heavenly.
Fantastic service. Our waiter was fun, friendly and attentive (he's in the pictures, Spanish, and he taught us some words!) We were there for my Mum's 89th birthday and she loved it. And that was exactly what was perfect. No matter what the age of customer, the atmosphere of the Ivy was so relaxed, and welcoming, with cool unintrusive music, set against a beautiful backdrop of eclectic art and atmospheric lighting. Thank-you for welcoming us so warmly while the rain poured down outside!
We sat outside with the heaters and covers and it was warm enough. The staff were attentive and the food came promptly and was tasty. The main meal appeared small for the price (Lame Shepard's Pie) and the cocktails were more expensive than comparative places but the experience was very enjoyable.
Eaten here twice, best meals we’ve ever had! Fantastic service, incredible food! Couldn’t recommend more
Spacious place, great atmosphere and good service.
Great Sunday lunch, good food, limited waiting time
Delayed on getting our reserved table by 15 minutes - wouldn’t really be a big deal were it not combined with how terrible the rest of the experience was in its entirety.
Our ‘waitress’ did not even introduce herself as our waitress never mind offer water or take a drinks order. Had to spend twenty-odd minutes trying to attract attention from anyone to do either of these things and when we did she actually just disappeared without taking a drink order from my wife.
Had planned to come for a steak and a dessert but after seeing how disorganised everything was decided there was no point spending that amount in this place on this occasion.
Two waiters then approached us within two minutes of each other and told us they were closing the bar and taking ‘last’ drink orders and before our food or my wife’s drink had even came. The second waiter also told us they were not only closing the bar but taking ‘last’ dessert orders. We asked if that dessert point was really true because the other one hadn’t said it (and we hadn’t even got our food yet). He said he’d check and then we never heard from him about it again.
The drink my wife was eventually able to order then came after the food, both arriving past 9.30pm, over entire hour after our booking time.
The chicken thing I ordered instead of the steak was bland, boring, and not particularly well cooked.
All of this was experienced to the utterly disorienting and spectacularly irritating backdrop of thumping far-too-loud-and-unbelievably-god-awful music which was totally out of keeping with the design of the place (and unsuitable for any restaurant, really).
In short, I would advise to not go here (or at least don’t go here on Saturday night) because it absolutely, totally sucks.
Very nice place, good food and Florin one of the manager has been very kind and professional!!
For the bracket the Ivy Brasserie aspires to, this missed the mark.
The food is good, but nothing special. The drinks are good. The service was ok, but spotty. Aperitifs took a long time to arrive before the meal, despite the restaurant being at low capacity.
The wine, although ordered during the starters arrived after the mains (or rather during).
And, they asked us to vacate the table with 40 minutes to go before the Covid curfew, despite no one else waiting and plenty of empty tables.
I’d come back for drinks, but not for a meal and certainly not for a special occasion.
My flatmates and I went for dinner at the weekend and the Ivy Soho could not have been a more perfect choice. I was celebrating my birthday and, whilst the restaurant might have been slightly quieter than under normal circumstances, there was still a great atmosphere. The food and service were excellent, as always. Thank you to all the staff for making my birthday special. See you again soon!
I had heard great things about the ivy and was hoping for a wonderful experience. Instead.. the food was very average, the service was pretty poor and the noise was unbearable! We went to celebrate my brothers birthday, on the booking I stayed it was an occasion and after calling ahead to find out if we could do a cake (we couldn’t ), I was told that instead we would be given a complimentary birthday tart.. I had to ask 2 different staff members for this and waited well after the bill for it to arrive.. Normally I’d expect this kind of service, but not from a restaurant as revered as the ivy.
A beautiful space despite its vast size, every seat feels private and special.
All the original classics and comfort food, especially on our Saturday Brunch menu.
Very reasonable prices for the the quality and preparation of the ingredients.
Duck Salad and Steak Tartare absolutely top notch and delicious.
The classic and brilliant Ivy Shepherds Pie remained a familiar and comforting treat on a rainy Autumn day. Minute steak cam with a very over salted pepper sauce but was replaced very quickly with no fuss. No space for puddings but I am always torn over Apple Tarte Tartin Fine or the Rum Baba (with a rum shot poured over the top for good measure). Wine list is comprehensive, well chosen and a little over priced but no more than most London restaurants. Great afternoon out. Thank you.
Was a brilliant night out! Thank you Ivy Soho ❤️
Bit disappointing, eat at Winchester ivy recently, entirely different experience
Great ambiance, great people watching and good food!
Ivy Soho Brasserie met the usual Ivy standards and although (understandably) quieter than usual the ambience and experience was still outstanding. My wife and I were not disappointed with any aspect of our visit with the usual excellent food and service. We look forward to returning when all our lives return to. some semblance of normality. Thank you.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and fantastic food!
