The Ivy Winchester Brasserie

We enjoyed a meal on Christmas eve at the Winchester Ivy, we booked in advance as we were staying in Winchester to be sure we got a table. We had a great night, the ambience was good our waitress was attentive and the food was excellent. It was our first time dining at the Ivy in Winchester, although we have visited the Ivy in Bristol and Bath.

We had a lovely meal with my family on Christmas Eve, the staff were extremely helpful and there was a lovely atmosphere. The food was excellent. I was also glad that the music level was perfect. A lot of places have music to loud but it wasn’t. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic food, lovely environment & overall a fantastic experience. The staff were a bit slow at times & didn't listen to what I ordered. Was disappointed that children are not better looked after, no children's desert menu, coloring offered etc

The booking system is easy to use. Really nice Christmas atmosphere, friendly and efficient service and great food. We all had fish and chips and my mum said it was the best she’d ever had and the children were happy with their portions too. The waiter was friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back once the restaurant re-opens.

Service was excellent. Our waiter Dan was great and made us feel very welcome and looked after. Despite the restaurant being busy he made time to chat with us. Unfortunately the restaurant was incredibly noisy so my boyfriend and I couldn't hold much of a conversation. Sadly there was also a large chunk of shell in my Prawn and Lobster Cocktail. Other than that the food was very good.

Disappointed to rushed out of the restaurant after finishing our meal as apparently someone was waiting for our table. Very rudely asked to hurry up. Pretty poor service ruined what was a fairly nice meal. Won’t be going back

Just a lovely pre-Christmas treat! Superb food and we felt very well looked after - lovely staff. A real tonic for our times.

The food was pretty average (despite it being fish and chips, I’ve had much better from a nice public house). The staff were wonderful and the decor was lovely, yet it was quite drafty .

Incredibly expensive if you fancy a drink and after in-exciting food they add on a massive tip and ask you to leave....

Great lunch as ever. We were very well looked after. Made our special occasion very special.

Our waiter was exceptional I was dining with 2 x 7 yr olds. The waiter was fab with them.

Set in the middle of Winchester it was well decorated, nice food, great ambience and will go again.

A superb restaurant which never fails to deliver spectacular food and service, with a lovely ambience. Perfect for an intimate evening out or to celebrate a special occasion. I would definitely recommend The Ivy.

In such a challenging time, we felt safe whilst visiting The Ivy, the tables were well spaced and the team were very attentive.

Our starters were fine very nice but the main course for both of us was terrible
Staff never asked how we would like the hamburger cooked so over done
My roast dish was absolutely awful watery mushroom sauce chicken big piece of grizzle I left mine nothing was said by the staff
It happened to be my birthday so really wasn’t looking to make a fuss and realise we are in challenging times
But the food quality was awful

Great ambience and service. Excellent starters- Cheese souffle and scallops. My wife enjoyed her Shepherds pie. I tried the Goose shepherds pie, which was a disappointment . The goose was shredded and tasteless. I did not complain, as we had enjoyed the overall experience.

Wonderful meal in a nice vibrant surroundings, cocktails are amazing, staff attentive an food delicious.

My favourite place . Usually go for dinner, first time for brunch and it was exceptional. Winchester is my favourite of the Ivys for so many reasons. Cannot wait to be back

The Ivy has a great ambience, the right balance of attentiveness from the staff and lovely food, which makes this a perfect place for a real treat.

My husband and I had a lovely meal at the Ivy, they were very welcoming, felt covid secure but was perfectly subtle. Food was incredible. A real treat

Very good as usual except, on this occasion, the combination of a busy restaurant and the background music created just an annoying ‘noise’.

Fantastic- we managed to bring our table booking forward. Was fabulous service, social distance was kept to as less tables than normal and the food was just lovely as it always is. Thank you for making it feel a little bit like a normal Christmas.

Lovely place, great with kids and friendly staff. Quite expensive but a nice treat
