The Ivy Winchester Brasserie
Booked a table for an early evening meal and to try out the restaurant as heard good things. We were disappointed. Bang bang chicken salad was served on a hot bowl so salad wilted. Then the Lamb pasta main was served in a cold bowl and meal was not hot enough. Crushed potato on Sea Bream meal was watery and tasteless. Cheese to finish and forgot the apple which was part of the dish. Serving staff were brilliant but not impressed with the chef. Over priced for quality of food. Afraid we were Not impressed for our first visit.
Good choice on the menu and separate menu for vegetarians. Good service and delicious food well cooked
Wonderful experience for my daughter and I on her 21st birthday.
Respup attentive staff, very friendly also. Great food, it was our first time at The Ivy and enjoyed every minute!!
great atmosphere, ex ellent franchise on the original, good value, lovely staff
Always lovely- such a great chain. Beautifully decorated lovely food
Fabulous food, ambience and staff. Says it all really.
A great buzzing venue for dinner! The food and service is second to none. If I did have a negative it would be the wine selection. It is very expensive, we ordered a bottle for £25 (one of the cheaper whites!) It was not very nice, very acidic. We could not even finish the bottle....so unusual for us!
Please ....more quality wine at affordable prices. Thank you.
Great meal. Good service as you’d expect from this establishment
We ate at 7:30pm in a Saturday but if you want to be able to hear conversation then choose a quieter period. Also the size of the font on the menus and the menu background make it very difficult to read.
Food and Service really good. Can't wait to go back. Thanks
We went to the Ivy for lunch. The staff were well dressed and the decor is tasteful, but the food is mediocre. It was incredibly noisy and there was always pressure from the staff to buy additional items. For Winchester, there are much better options to consider for the price.
We took my Mum for her 70th birthday and we had a lovely lunch, the staff really made a fuss out of her which was lovely. Thanks very much
It’s always a pleasure here - you know you’re getting good food, great service and decent prices plus a buzzing atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed a lovely lunch in great surroundings. Despite the restaurant being busy staff were attentive and helpful. Our food was delicious and the portion sizes represent good value for money.
The Ivy is lovely from the moment you stand outside it. A beautiful arch way of flowers. It’s got a lovely atmosphere and you are made to feel welcome from the word go. Food lovely. Will be back soon. Please open one near Bournemouth or Poole.
Lovely family get together for breakfast. Staff were lovely, amazing customer service. Food was delicious. Definitely be going back
A popular busy, vibrant establishment. Good food and great service.
Splendid. Bit loud but not unbearably so. Food was excellent; service very good (well done, Maisie) and a three-course meal for two coming in at £102 is pretty good value.
We'd not been before but had strong recommendations from work colleagues, which were not misplaced.
great service, great food and overall experience would go again but wine very pricy
Great ambience. Good value set menu and food was amazing. Staff very attentive.
Lovely lunch with friends. Impressed with waiting staff’s dietary knowledge and guidance for my allergy, thank you!
A very friendly welcome, kind and considerate service and glorious food. A wonderful way to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Thank you
A lovely dining experience. W went in for Brunch on a Thursday at 1030 and it was pretty quiet with only a few tables of people. It filled up over the course of an hour or so as it came up to lunch time. The meet and greet was lovely, the waiter took our coats and brought the coat check ticket to the table. The interior is stylish and a pleasant and comfortable place to eat.
The food was great. We had a full-english and a vegetarian breakfast and both were very tasty and well presented. Overall a really nice experience. Will definitely visit again.
The quality of service & food at any Ivy Brasserie that we have visited has always been of a great standard but the staff on Winchester were a notch above the normal.
Outstandingly competent & friendly without being obtrusive.
& the cheeky Espresso Martini was great especially as we were there for breakfast.
Fantastic service as always, I’m very much a local and eat at The Ivy, Winchester at least once a week, love it!
Enjoyed the meal very much. Didn’t know there would be live music and, although a little loud, it did make the evening even more enjoyable. Good food, timely service and nice surroundings. Looking forward to my next visit whenever that might be.
Excellent as ever. Unfortunately our table was next to four tediously loud people. But that's not the fault of The Ivy. Just bad luck.
Presumably there was a reason for filling up tables in the corner just behind the Reception?
Amazing value with first class service. Why go to London ?
My husband and I booked The Ivy for a child-free lunchtime date.
We had a wonderful time and experience. The food was amazing and service was faultless.
We are already planning to return for our anniversary in April.
Had a lovely late morning breakfast celebrating my daughters birthday! They even bought her over a cup cake. Breakfast was lovely
Lovely place to visit for a treat. The food, service and decor is first class.
The Ivy is a lovely place to go for a special meal or get together with really good service and kind personnel.
Had a lovely birthday lunch ...service was excellent and the food was delicious.
Fabulous first visit, everything I had hoped it would be, will definitely return
We arrived late due to an accident on the way but had been in touch with the restaurant on the way up and they had assured us our table would be ok. However, on our arrival, we felt very rushed. We did not have a starter but instead had some nibbles but before they were finished, our mains were delivered. All in all we had eaten within forty minutes! Not the relaxed birthday lunch for my daughter that I had anticipated and it was a venue that we had wanted to visit for a while. Despite being asked if we were celebrating and telling them it was my daughters birthday there was no celebratory offering which made you wonder why they had asked.
We found the experience disappointing which was a shame because I really wanted us to enjoy it
Astounded to find that our Brunch for 7 people at 11.00am on Sunday that the breakfast menu finished at 11.00 .The menu was then only a la carte. Does the Ivy know what Brunch means? Who eats lunch at 11.00am? HOWEVER MY COMPLAINT is that two of our party used the gents toilet soon after arriving to find the hot air dryer not working and NO paper towels. They reported it straight away and told it would be sorted. 90 minutes later while waiting for the bill they visited the toilet again and were really angry that there was still no way to dry their hands.
All this in the middle of public health virus scare when hand hygiene is being stressed!!!!
Lovely meal, although service a little slow at times (wine did not appear until halfway through our main course)...noise level was high enough that not all 4 of us could hear each other at the same time without straining. That said, the service that was quicker was very good and food/wine selection spot on. Thank you.
After a small hiccup with our booking (we had a confirmation for five but The Ivy had a table for four) was resolved, we had an excellent evening here. The food was delicious and the staff were very helpful with regard to allergies. Cocktails were great and the restaurant is a great little spot.
