The Junction Tavern
1 steak was ‘ok’ the other was inedible. Tough and grisly as old boots 👢
I am a local. The recent remodelling of the garden at the Junction is so good, it has brought us out to eat & drink a couple of times since it opened- something we have not being doing in these Coronavirus dominated times. I took a friend for lunch, while we could, two days before the Junction has had to close again for lockdown. Such a shame, as it had really added a new lease of life to our, (and loads of others I’m sure), social life to be able to have a few drinks, be socially distanced and warm under the canopy heaters or maybe keep sheltered and cosy having a meal in one of the sheds. Good range of beer and food too! I look forward to the day the pub reopens.
We had booked a table for the Sunday Roast for 6pm and we have a long list of issues - it took 25 minutes to bring menus, the area we were sat in the conservatory was freezing, the waiter didn't bring my drink over until prompted half an hour later on, they had run out of the pork on the menu (not the hugest issue but sadly part of a bigger picture) added a Yorkshire to my friends plate although she requested it gluten free, nobody cleared our table or offered us desserts/further drinks, after we asked for the menu again we were then left for another half hour before anybody came to our table again... and then the final bill was wrong, they managed to charge us for 6 mains instead of 4. Food was okay but wouldn't go again
Nice outdoor space and really good, attentive staff
We had a great Sunday lunch at the Junction! Staff were busy, and we were late in the afternoon. Atmosphere was good and food also.
Due to Covid restrictions you have to order via an app, fine. However, then it repeatedly takes 20 minutes plus to get a beer, not food, not cocktails just a draught beer.
We sat outside in one of the covered and rainy sheds, which were perfect despite it being pretty rainy. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We ordered 2x chicken burgers and 2x Junction burgers and everyone thought the food was very good. I had a chicken burger which was delicious and much better than pub burgers often are. Drinks are a little bit on the expensive side but no more than other pubs in the Kentish Town/ Camden area.
Would definitely return once places are open again!
The New food menu is not that good Than the previous one. I was disappointed by the chicken burger
Bad food, overpriced, it’s a boozer and the food is awful.
Lovely North London pub on the corner of Lady Margaret Road and Fortress Road where you can sit back and watch the world go by. Their Sunday roasts are amazing. We went for the roast chicken sharing plate for two which came with the usual trimmings. For dessert we had apple crumble and custard, and sticky toffee pudding - the food was delicious and washed down with some great red wine. Great service and a lovely ambience. Good music too.
The outdoor seating is covered, but pools in the middle, meaning that diners were subject to frequent lashings of heavy downpour. There did not seem to be enough staff available to cover the outdoor area, and it took over half an hour just to see the menus. Service a bit sporadic, food was good. It was a special occasion though, and we were disappointed.
Had a lovely meal and drinks outside in the beer garden. We were covered and so when the rain started hitting us we were relatively dry. Can see it would be nicer on a clear day. Food was delicious and warm.
Great tasting food and really friendly staff. Dog friendly with indoor and outdoor seating, took measures to ensure social distancing and safety while providing an enjoyable dining experince.
very nice staff, as most places doing their best under difficult circumstances.
Went here for some drinks and a Sunday Roast. Food is still really good but service is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. We had to ask for our menus twice, ask to order and also ask to find out where our desserts were after 30mins of waiting. Oh and we were given the wrong bill when it eventually arrived after also asking for that. A real shame as the pub is lovely to be in and the food / drink is great - but the service truly was appalling today.
Delicious Sunday lunch & good service. Highly recommend.
I'm a regular at the Junction, its across the road from my home. It really seems to be doing well as a local with good food right now but was a bit understaffed on Friday night -however the two girls serving (restaurant area) were superb (forget the Italian girl's name). Hence this review.
I would add that I was sad the menu changed and there are no pasta choices, the tagliatelle prawns/crab dish was a winner and the reason I kept going back recently
Had a good Sunday pub lunch for 4.
Strict on COVID measures, which was reassuring.
I genuinely think I caught then on a bad day. However they did get my order totally wrong and my chips were undercooked.
Great local food offering with a nice and relaxed atmosphere.
No Sunday roast available at 3pm on a Sunday. Only told once we had ordered. No apologies from staff. One order then forgotten by staff and arrived late. Again no apologies. Sitting next to some tarpaulin. Won’t be going again.
I was very disappointed by our Sunday Lunch on 19/9/20.
We were a group of three and were put on a tiny table (suitable for two) and so social distancing was completely impossible.
Two of us had the very pricey Roast chicken for two at £32.
The chicken was fine (but nothing inventive about it, ie a lemon inside the cavity, or some herbs in the roasting process would have been nice.
Gravy was completely ordinary (to be honest it could have been packet it was so tasteless).
Roast potatoes were ok but flowery
Veg was cooked well
It was a very uninspiring meal - which for £32 was a disappointment and frankly a rip off.
We were inside which was fine but no ambience at all.
Covid measures on entry were good
The roast was great however they didn’t not include horseradish cream as described, same with the cheese board was fantastic but gave Us goats cheese instead of Brie as requested.
Service was a bit forced at times but overall we would go back as the food was delicious
Really pleasant visit, easy and chilled atmosphere. Exact Covid precautions in place. Food from each of the three courses we ordered were spot on, tasty!!
