Our anniversary was an exciting event and we waited 3 months for our covid lockdown to end so we could have a fabulous romantic dinner at Lagoon, and it was a complete disaster!!
Our entree of a garden salad was over dressed and oily. My wife ordered the chicken dish and I the steak and lobster, I asked for a medium rare steak and she got a medium rare chicken and my steak was over cooked and dry. We will not be eating here again. Our favourite restaurant has seemed to fade. So unfortunate
I was very disappointed with the whole experience, went there for an anniversary dinner with friends, for a high end restaurant, nothing was of high end, the cutlery looked dirty, the floor was filthy, some of the chairs need replacing, the service from the waiters, was poorly, no one ask how our meals where, when they brought our drinks to the table, they just popped them down, didn't ask who was having what.
This is the second time we have dined at Lagoon. While the first time was brilliant, this second visit was disappointing. The service was slow and inconsistent. The food was very yummy, but the serving sizes left us still hungry after ordering entree, main and dessert.
Also, we were concerned about the number of people present inside as we are still in the middle of a pandemic. Also there were many points in the restaurant where it was impossible to practice social distancing.
Considering the Lagoon had just re-opened 2 days ago after lockdown, Everything was just amazing. the seafood absolutely outstanding, service brilliant. The only thing was the weather , and I do believe they did try to fix that.
Brilliant place for lunch.
We chose the Lagoon as our first lunch with friends after lockdown. The team did not disappoint, the welcome, the service and the food was outstanding. We will be back.
We had the worst experience it was my sisters 60th birthday and was so excited to go but the service was non existent. The good very average- we had the seafood platter- the lobster only had 3 small pieces in it and just covered in moray sauce

The service here has slipped down hill, over the years we’ve been here countless times. We have dinned here on two occasions in the past twelve months & we were left disappointed on both.
Attention to detail is lacking, plates were being left uncleared, glasses not filled, drinks missed & incorrectly made, dirty glasses, bent cutlery & no hand towels in bathroom. Staff are not polished and as a result the customer is being left with an inadequate experience.
Was a little disappointed with the presentation of the platter was a little flat no garnish at all
Food was fresh. Service was good although we did have to ask a few times for drinks. And we also then just didn’t order more….it was getting to the end of the night.
From the moment we entered until we left,we were made to feel like we were the only ones there....

The signage at the front is poor. We had trouble finding the front door as an arrow pointed us in the opposite direction! Food is good huge portions. Staff were slow but attentive when they bothered to check us after initial orders taken

We attended for a birthday lunch and were disappointed to say the least. The floors were dirty along with the dirty/ cracked wine glasses, there was old food under our table, the windows out to the ocean were foggy and required a good clean, the bathrooms were dirty with the taps running continuously and broken toilet seats. It was extremely disappointing considering we have been attending this restaurant for over 20 years.
The only thing that saved this experience was the service of the staff.
Excellent service, delicious food, great atmosphere. Very impressed and will definitely be back for another dining experience and to try more of the menu.
Our waiter was exceptional. Food was lovely. Little slower than ideal but the restaurant was very busy
I was expecting world class and got a very underwhelming experience, Mitch did a great job in looking after us but the restaurant was not what we expected.

Service was ok and we had some issues with the bill at the end of the night.
Contacted the restaurant directly and to their credit received a phone call the next morning along with an apology and everything was all sorted for us.
On a previous stay in Wollongong - we earmarked 'to dine' @ The Lagoon Restaurant. Location is fabulous, noise level a problem for us!!! Our table seating could have been a little more intimate for a couple. Staff were fantastic & very attentive. We were disappointed in our choise of food ... Seafood Platter would have been a better choice. Husband's BBQ Squid (delicious) & Clams (disappointing). Wife's Barramundie was just warm & dish was skimp on Vegetables. Dessert okay.

We visit every year for our wedding anniversary as we had a family lunch there following our ceremony when we got married.
The food is always amazing, we count down to June. This year, they made a special effort to help us celebrate our anniversary in the way of a lovely message in our desert.
Nothing is too much trouble for the wait staff and even though I feel like an imposter visiting such a nice restaurant, they never make us feel unwelcome or a burden with our small children.
If your not ordering seafood then it’s not worth going. Pappardelle pasta and steak was tasteless. Seafood ravioli 5 pieces for $48. Couldn’t get service for dessert so paid and left. Disappointed. Staff was clueless.
We ordered the breakfast platter for two. Scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, mushrooms, toast and tomatoes very nice. Bit of a let down with the fruit as the watermelon must have been cut the night before and the pineapple was under ripe. Coffee was good. Very disappointed they weren’t offering the dine and discover vouchers.
I love the lagoon, but sadly I was not real impressed with the hot and cold platter this time.
The lobster was nice and fresh the mornay sauce was lacking flavour. The scallops for our taste were basically undercooked and translucent. Not nice for us. Some of the hot prawns were basically raw near the head. We did not like the sushimi at all as we are not raw fish people.Maybe an option should be given as to whether you like raw seafood on platter, the fruit needs to be ripe as well.
Drinks service was very slow
A lovely location for Lunch. The food was outstanding. We had a delightful young man was wait staff. Attentive and able to have easy batter and re pore, he knew the menu and gave great and detailed descriptions. We were very happy with final choices My sister in law commented that all three courses were of the best standard. She is not local and Wollongong gave this foodie a great lunch at Lagoon
Got there and asked about menu as I looked on this app for the full menu.. it said a platter for 2 was $165 same platter was over $200 on the menu..
They just said thanks for letting them know they will get if there this sight.. it’s still on here.
Went to use our vouchers than the said they are authorised to use it but they can’t take them..
Service wasn’t the best overall won’t be going back. Went there as I had a voucher.

Sadly, we were charged for a drink we did not order or receive. The toilets were frankly a disgrace, not only old, but delapitaded and dirty, no hand towel paper and faulty soap dispenser.
Restaurant views & staff service were excellent.
Doors need to be automatically closing, prices were a little expensive but food was lovely.
The food was nice and our waiters were lovely however I ordered my cocktail as soon as we sat down, about 5 minutes later we ordered the seafood platter for two. The platter arrived well before my cocktail so I cancelled the cocktail and ordered a soft drink instead (I wanted to sip on the cocktail while wait for my meal, not drink it with my meal). The cocktail still came out even though I cancelled it. We were also seated right next to the deck door so constant cold air and people walking by
Initial welcome good on entry. Waiter polite and friendly. Waiter service to start was good. Received entree and main meal very quickly after ordering. Couldn't fault food. Waiter kept his distance from us after we had finished main meal. Tried to attract his attention so we could order desert and coffee. Gave up and left premises.
Food and service were excellent however both the male and female bathroom facilities are quite disgusting. 2 of the 3 urinals we’re out of order, loose or missing toilet seats. No paper in ladies. Dirty and smelly.
We were also charged $7.50 for tap water served in an old wine bottle. We questioned the charge but were told it was a management decision.
We have been to Lagoon on at least 7-8 times over the past 5 years but this will be our last visit, unfortunately!!
No rose or champagne for the Mothers on arrival. Too croweded and noisy. Processed, assembly line reheated food. Food served without enought cultery. We used teaspoons to eat desert. Very expensive for a course chosen by the establishment where a chicken entree would have been better warmed up, given the time of year.
We usually love the restaurant but it really missed the mark. Dinner was split half had finished eating while half were still waiting. The food quality was well below the usual standard. We couldn’t get out of there quick enough. It wasn’t the Mother’s Day experience we have come to expect. Won’t write them off after one poor experience
I have been going to the lagoon for 5 years and this will be the last time. Every year is usually exceptional but this year’s Mother’s Day dinner was appalling and disgusting. 15 minutes to receive menus only after asking, entrees were tiny example 3 measly pieces of halloumi and one stalk of asparagus. The main a punish and feta ravioli the pasta was under cooked we requested a new one but to no surprise never received it. Desert were revolting and looked like something purchased at Woolworths.
The food was lovely and our waitress as well.
I personally felt it was way overbooked and too many people

Food was nice although dessert options for Mother’s Day weren’t amazing. My biggest concern was the glasses and plates were dirty.
I understand it was a very busy weekend but being in the hospitality industry myself, your glassware should be polished and your plates should not be used if the are unclean
